What can we expect from this film? Well Fox envisions it to be the 2nd film of the new X-Men trilogy. Also, Vaughn has compared the idea of this sequel to The Dark Knight by stating “First Class is similar to Batman Begins, where you have the fun of introducing the characters and getting to know them, but that takes time. New LEGO Batman 2: DC Superheroes Gameplay Footage Reveals Awesome Stuff

Firstly, you can play as Superman. Second of all, when he gets bored of flying, Superman can take the Batmobile out for a drive. Thirdly, and most importantly, our favourite kyrptonian can also ride on the back of a gorilla. Why? Why not?!

Just when you thought the combination of Batman, LEGO and video games couldn’t get any cooler, along comes Superman riding a gorilla and driving around in the Batmobile! I seriously don’t remember seeing Clark going for his driving licence on Smallville

LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes will fly/drive/gorilla ride it’s way into stores on June 19th with over 70 playable characters. For more, check the video below.

DC Comics: Green Lantern Is Gay

Last week DC Comics announced a DC character would not just come back to the DC universe, but also come out. DC Comics has now revealed that character is Alan Scott, the original Green Lantern. This has surprised many. Why? Because the character was created over 70 years ago and has a wife and kids.

Now being reintroduced into the series Earth 2, Alan Scott will be returning with a new sexual preference in Earth 2 #2.

“I’m very proud to be introducing Alan Scott into DC COMICS-THE NEW 52. He was my favorite Golden Age character and one I’m very familiar with so I’m really excited to be updating him for a contemporary readership. Oh, and on Earth 2 there is only one Green Lantern, so Alan’s title is The Green Lantern. Alan’s sexuality is just one facet of him, along with his innate goodness, valor, charisma and skill at leadership that makes him the perfect man to wield the power of the green light in the world of Earth 2.”

I know right?! I’m just as surprised as you are. I also expected it to be Aquaman! Earth #2 is expected to be released on June 2nd, 2012.

Injustice: Gods Among Us Revealed

NetherRealm Studios have teamed up with DC Comics once again to bring us an exciting new trailer for a brand new DC Comics based fighter titled Injustice: Gods Amoung Us.

The trailer appears to play much more like Mortal Kombat (2011) rather than Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe, but with even more destructible arenas. Characters include Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Harley Quin and Solomon Grundy. Ed Boon himself has also stated that characters will fall into one of two categories: those who use super powers and those who use gadgets.

Other than that, little is known other than the story will involve some of our greatest heroes becoming some of our greatest threats, it’s got a modified Mortal Kombat engine behind it and the game is coming in 2013 to Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii U.

Defiance E3 Trailer

Trion Worlds has released an E3 Trailer for the new transmedia IP Defiance.  The trailer, which players can see below, shows off an “arkfall” event where pieces of ships will fall to the ground and require action from the locals.  Also from the trailer, players can get a better sense of the Defiance world at large, such as the “Welcome to Antarctica” postcard the TV series star Nolan puts on his dashboard.

Besides just their offering of a trailer, Trion Worlds will be having the first public demo of Defiance at E3 2012 at their booth.  So players looking to get more information regarding how the MMO shooter will play, may be able to see.  Defiance is set to release April 2013, with both the game on PC, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360, while the series will air on the SyFy Channel.
