Crysis 3 Not Coming to wiiU

0

Some bad news has come out of Crytek today, they have announced that their upcoming release Crysis 3 will not be coming to the wiiU. It was officially announced by Crytek’s general manager Nick Button-Brown via his twitter account. The official post reads,

“Just to answer the speculation, we are not currently working on a wiiU version of #Crysis3”

This sad news comes only one week after Crysis 3 producer Mike Read stated that, “Crytek was working with Nintendo” and that a wiiU version of Crysis 3 is a “possibility.” From the sounds of it there may be a released version of the title on Nintendo’s next generation console post launch but until anything is announced we will just have to wait and keep our fingers crossed. No matter what happens, we can expect to see a game from Crytek on the wiiU but we will have to wait and see what the actual product will be.

Crysis 3 releases on the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC sometime in February 2013.

Black Ops Zombies Mobile now on Android

Grab your guns and get ready. It has been announced that the hit December released title, Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies will be expanding to all mobile platforms starting today. Now you might notice that it has not hit the market for those of you who own Android devices other than the Xperia Play, this is because they have announce a thirty day timed exclusive for the title on the Xperia Play. Also keep in mind that the game when it is released on the other devices will only playable if you are running on Android version 2.3.3 and up.

Back Ops Zombies will be priced at only $6.99 and it hasn’t been said if the game includes all the recent updates since the games original release on iOS but it’s highly likely that it will include them. It’s also been said that the game itself on the Xperia Play will allow you to use  joysticks and the buttons instead of using the touch screen, but that has not been confirmed so you will have to go and try it for yourself.

Dishonored’s voice cast revealed; includes Susan Sarandon and more

It is rather interesting to see that most videogames now have a more star studded cast than any B movie produced in the last few years. Today Bethesda and Arkane Studios revealed some of the voice actors who will be playing characters in Dishonored and the cast is fully of award-winning actors and actresses.

As the title says, Susan Sarandon will be lending her talent to the game as an old blind woman named Granny Rags. She used to be an aristocrat but now lives on the streets, while the man who made the main character’s mask and other inventions, Piero, will be played by Brad Dourif.

To round out the cast we have Carrie Fisher broadcasting propaganda over the city’s speaker system, Loyalist Admiral Havelock played by John Slattery, Michael Madsen handling the voice of the mysterious assassin Daud. Calista is the Empress’ daughter’s caretaker and will be voiced by Lena Headey of Game of Thrones fame while the daughter will be handled by Chloë Grace Moretz. The original score for the game is being created by Daniel Licht who has worked on Dexter in the past. Such a large wealth of talented actors only makes all the hype for this game even more reasonable.

Persona 4: Arena sells 90% of its shipment; outsells Street Fighter

Unlike in North America where sales figures are seldom reported and the total amount of shipped units of a game are barely mentioned at all, in Japan both of these figures are freely shared to the public courtesy of a sales tracking company Media Create.

Now Persona 4: Arena came out last week in Japan and it actually happened to sell through 90% of its shipment on both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 version of the game. This is obviously great news for the first ever Persona fighting game, but what is even better is the fact that their PlayStation 3 sales of the game, 128,485 copies, surpassed the opening week of Street Fighter IV, Tekken 6, BlazBlue and others.

Worldwide Playstation All Stars Beta Coming This Spring

After sending out codes for the more exclusive developer’s beta, Sony Computer Entertainment have announced that, this coming Spring (Autumn/Fall for our friends in the Northern Hemisphere), Playstation All Stars Battle Royale will have a public beta for the Playstation 3. Characters that will be available in the beta include Kratos, Sweet Tooth, PaRappa the Rapper, Colonel Radec, Sly Cooper and Fat Princess, if it follows the current beta. They will fight on battlefields such as Dreamscape, Metropolis, Sandover Village and Hades. PS+ subscribers will get early access to the beta.

The recent leak of content was also addressed. Chan Park, President of Superbot Entertainment, wrote:

In addition, there was an unexpected and unintended leak in our beta that allowed fans to see some additional content. We’ve enjoyed reading all of the fan reaction and are thrilled that so many of you are excited to learn more about our character roster and level mash-ups, however, we are still in development and the leaked content does not fully represent the final product, nor the incredible efforts that were made to make these elements truly spectacular. This will be evident in the coming weeks as this content is officially revealed, beginning with our next character announcement at gamescom in a couple of weeks.

The beta will be available to all Playstation Network subscribers around the world.

BlazBlue series sells 1.7 million units worldwide

As you may know, Aksys is currently celebrating the third anniversary of the BlazBlue series in North America but it also happens to be the fourth year that the series has been in existence worldwide. Today Aksys Games announce that throughout the series’ lifetime they have sold 1.7 million copies of the game worldwide.

Of these worldwide sales, 800,000 of them happened to be in the United States alone. While not overly impressive compared to the numbers that Street Fighter’s recent releases have pulled in, this is still rather great news for a newcomer to the fighting game scene. Especially one with what began as a niche fanbase that has slowly grown over the years.

Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch pre-order bonuses revealed

While Namco Bandai is already offering a neat Wizard’s Edition exclusively through their online store, ClubNamco, they are also offering a few pre-order bonuses for those who don’t feel like buying the special edition but still want to get the game’s standard version.

Today the company revealed that there will be two special pre-order bonuses depending on the store you pre-order from. If you happen to pre-order the game from Amazon you will get the above “Griffy” familiar which has a few special abilities and wasn’t added to the Japanese version of the game.

However pre-ordering from GameStop in the U.S. or EB Games in Canada will net you an even better bonus. Anyone who pre-orders from these stores will be given the steelbook case which can be seen below, featuring exclusive artwork. While the decision on which to pick up still lies with the consumer, I can tell you that those steelbook editions will probably be very popular when the game is released on January 22nd next year.

Bleach Manga enters hiatus due to sickness

If you were concerned about the fact that there hasn’t been a new chapter for Bleach appearing in Japan or anywhere else, well there is a good reason for the missing release. Today it was revealed on the Japanese website Yaraon that due to some issues with Tite Kubo’s health, he has momentarily put the manga on hiatus.

To recover from his sickness he is expected to take a few weeks off from the manga, though it is expected that he will be returning with a new chapter around August 20th. With Bleach in its “final story arc” it is certainly an unfortunate time for Kubo to fall ill, however the author’s health is obviously top priority and we wish him the best of luck with his recovery.
