Shakugan no Shana 2 delayed until December

Some unfortunate news has come out of online anime store Right Stuf. They have announced that FUNimation has delayed the second season of Shakugan no Shana. The two part box set, or individual releases for those who choose that route, are now set to be released on December 11th instead of their original release date of September 25th.

Currently it is unknown why the release was delayed, though it is worth noting that Shakugan no Shana’s first season was actually bumped up for release on August 21st. We have reached out to FUNimation about this delay and if they would have any statement for their eager, but disappointed, fans.

LittleBigPlanet Karting arrives on November 6

If you thought that Sony had enough first party racing games, let alone enough with customization (ModNation Racers) then you were obviously wrong. Today Sony announced the official release date for LittleBigPlanet Karting in North America. Gamers will be able to take their own little Sackboy around their own customizable race tracks on November 6th.

To commemorate LittleBigPlanet Karting’s release date the company also happened to release a new trailer for the game which can be seen below, which happens to be quite a hilarious spoof of the Olympics mind you. It is interesting to note that those who pre-order the title will receive a special Kevin butler Sackboy and golf kart.

Ouya XBMC support revealed alongside console size

0

With the Ouya Kickstarter winding down and about to close, with around 35 hours left until the final buzzer, its time for another update from the people behind the device which people are calling either the next hottest thing that will save video games or the biggest and most overhyped piece of tech to fail in the last few years.

Either way your opinion goes, and mine is for the latter, a new image for the console was revealed today and the Ouya itself looks like it is going to be about the size of a Rubik’s cube and nothing more. Also revealed today is the fact that the Ouya will be getting a media player courtesy of XBMC. The media player will be called TuneIn and it is currently being described as “a free service that lets people listen to the world’s music, sports, and news from wherever they are.” Now we just need an update to let us know about the new addition to the Ouya… a toaster slot to cook pop-tarts in!

Scott Pilgrim XBLA gets some online multiplayer DLC

Better late than never eh? Well, Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World is going to be getting some new DLC two years after it was released and this DLC is going to add online multiplayer as well as a brand new character for the game. The bad news? Ubisoft wants you to drop 400 MSP, or $5, on the feature, which I suppose if you still happen to love the title two year’s after it’s release it may be worth it to you.

The new character will be Wallace Wells and the online multiplayer will, obviously, allow players to fight alongside their friends in the battle against the seven evil ex’s.

Metal Gear Solid 4 Trophy patch now available worldwide

Although the title came out many moons ago, Trophies have finally made their way onto the PlayStation 3 exclusive Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. Today anyone with the game will be prompted to download the patch when they begin the game which will add in 34 Trophies.

These Trophies involve story related things of course as well as a number of Easter Egg Trophies for performing various takedowns or special things within the title. This offers players a chance to go back and do things a bit differently as well as pad their Trophy count a bit with a game they may already own.

Battlestar Galactica Online Succeeding with Substance

0

Bigpoint’s Battlestar Galactica Online has been finding some solid success with the Allegorithmic’s Substance.  What is this Substance and what has it been doing for them?  Well, Substance allows high quality detailed art to be easily sized for players on a wide variety of computers.

That means Bigpoint can spend more time on producing higher quality art without having to worry about having to scale it themselves, as it will be handled by Substance.  For a visual example, utilizing Substance Bigpoint has made a series of golden skins for some of the ships in honor of the in-game Festive of Kobol, which players can see to the right.

Battlestar Galactica Online is a free to play MMO, that uses the Unity engine and has so far accrued more than 10 million players.  Players can check out high quality pictures of two of the golden ships below and check out the game at its website HERE.

Darksiders II: Know Death – Last Pre-Release Trailer

Darksiders II is preparing to be released soon, so it’s having one final trailer to set the stage for it.  The video “Know Death”, doesn’t give any new information to those already versed in what Death exists to do.  Players can check out the new trailer embedded below to see the action as well as the first few scores the game is garnering.

Darksiders II is the sequel to the first Darksiders, but where the first put players in the role of War of the Four Horsemen, II sees players now in the role of War’s brother Death, as it fills in some gaps left by War’s ignorance to his brother whereabouts.  To fully understand the difference between the two playable brothers, consider this: War exists simply to fight battle, while Death exists simply to end life.  Players interested still have a a little time left to pre-order Darksiders II before it comes out.

Those in the United States will need to pre-order at GameStop and Canadians will have to pre-order at EB Games to score this sweet t-shirt. Make sure to pre-order WWE ’13 before October 30th to get the pre-order bonus.
