Dead Space 3 Limited Edition announced and detailed

It seems that EA is continuing their trend of Dead Space limited editions because today the company revealed that they will indeed be making a Dead Space 3 Limited Edition. Those interested in picking up this version will be given access to the first two bundles of DLC for Visceral’s co-op horror game.

The first bundle is called “First Contact” while the second one is titled “Witness the Truth.” Both of these pieces of DLC include a special suit and weapon, with more details found below. Also below you can find a new gameplay trailer which was shown off today at Gamescom.

“First Contact” Bundle

· First Contact Suit: This unique EVA (Extra-Vehicular Activity) suit was built by the SCAF (Sovereign Colonies Armed Forces) for encounters with “foreign entities.” It sports a flamboyant golden finish to provide protection from long-term space exposure and thick armor for… unspecified reasons. The suit was given the nickname “First Contact” by the scientists who made it.·

Negotiator Weapon: While technically classified by the SCAF as a “scientific instrument,” the gold-plated “Negotiator” is loaded with some surprisingly aggressive hardware. The overclocked, top-mounted Tesla Beam is capable of bursting a man-sized organism into several pieces with a single shot. The bottom-mounted Linegun appears to have been built with the sole purpose of cleanly dismembering organic tissue from a distance.

”Witness the Truth” Bundle

· Witness Suit: These insulated suits were worn by a SCAF deep dig team assigned to exhume the darkest secrets of Tau Volantis. Whatever they found locked deep in the ice changed them forever. When they emerged weeks later, they were covered head to toe in strange graffiti and claimed to be “Witnesses to the Truth.”·

Evangelizer Weapon: A modification of the standard AL-2 used by the Sovereign Colonies Legionaries, this version sports a souped-up AL-2g assault rifle on the top with an Emerson 2100 “Big Boy” tactical shotgun on the bottom. The surviving “Witnesses” of the SCAF deep dig team dubbed it the Evangelizer and decorated them top to bottom with strange symbols.

For those interested, Visceral is also running a contest on Dead Space 3’s official site where players can submit their own weapon ideas. The competition is called the “Tools of Terror” competition and the winner will not only have their weapon put into the game but their own likeness included somewhere in the title.

New Contract Mode announced for Hitman: Absolution

Today during a press conference at Gamescom Square Enix had a new game mode to announce for Hitman: Absolution. This game mode is called Contract Mode and will be an online mode that will allow players to create their own Contracts which will then be available to play by anyone online. Of the contracts created by players, five user contracts will be chosen each week for leader board competition, though the rest will still be available for your assassinating enjoyment.

Players will be able to create these contracts through a method called Play to Create where play style and execution set the rules of the level. To do this players will navigate a level of their choosing and select up to three targets for each Contract. The targets can be anyone they want and their execution method will then be the requirement for a Contract, making it so anyone who plays your user Contract will have to do that same method. From what it sounds like, this will allow players to compete with others on who can be the best assassin by one-uping each others’ contract kills.

Catwoman revealed for Injustice: Gods Among Us

Today a new character was revealed for Warner Brothers’ big super hero fighting game, Injustice: Gods Among Us. While she may not be the most “super” fighter around, from the looks of the announcement trailer, which can be seen below, Catwoman will be able to take on the rest of the super powered cast just fine.

From the looks of the character design, Catwoman is receiving another minor make-over from her last video game appearance in Batman: Arkham City, though with the amount of popularity she is gaining we may just see a full blown Catwoman game sometime in the future. Until then we get to watch her take down the likes of Batman and even Superman.
