NBA 2K13 Kinect Trailer Released

2K Sports released a new trailer today demoing the Kinect integration that is new to NBA 2K13. Players will be able to make substitutions, change strategies, and call plays through the Kinect microphone just like a coach or a player on the court. This spells the end of shouting the right plays to the TV and watching your favourite basketball team make a stupid play. NBA 2K13 is the latest iteration of the hit basketball franchise. The game will be released in Europe, Australia, and New Zealand on October 5th, 2012, and in North America on October 2nd, 2012. The game will be available for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, the Wii, the PSP, and PCs initially with a Wii U release following up during the holidays. Check out the trailer below.

Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge to have free DLC

As many of you know, Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge is going to be one of the launch titles on the Wii U. Now although it may be a port of a game released earlier this year, a number of differences have already been noticed, such as dismemberment returning and Ayane being a playable character.

It also seems that new content will also be coming after the game is released and it will be entirely free. After being asked a question by The Verge, a Team Ninja representative said that “After launch we are preparing a long list of free downloadable content for Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge. We can’t give details this evening, but we can tell you that series fans are going to love it.”

Dark Souls Artorias of the Abyss DLC coming to consoles in October

Some of you may remember that Dark Souls: Prepare to Die on the PC had received some exclusive content called “Artorias of the Abyss,” well that content is going to be making its way to the consoles on October 23rd. Namco Bandai revealed this information a bit earlier today and they also revealed that the content will cost $14.99 or 1,200 MSP depending on your platform of choice.

For those who don’t know, Artorias of the Abyss adds in a number of new maps, new enemies, brand new weapons and armor as well as a highly anticipated PvP feature. Some screenshots of the DLC were also released today, which can be seen below.

Ninja Gaiden 3 Razor’s Edge Trailer Shows Off Ayane as Playable Character

Any Ninja Gaiden fans that were missing out on the blood and violence lacking from Ninja Gaiden 3 will be pleased to find out that Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge for the Wii U will not be lacking this time around.  In the trailer just released, which players can check out embedded below, not only does the game show off the visceral blood and gore suited for ninjas going at it, but it also shows off Ayane in combat too.

The trailer does a good job as always from Team Ninja making Ayane look super sexy as well as super deadly as she cuts her way through plenty of enemies.  But fans of Ryu Hayabusa shouldn’t feel left out either as he gets some screen time too, going at it and also giving a nice show with his enemies blood as he cuts them down.  Players can check out the trailer embedded below to see it all in action, hopefully Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge can live up to expectations on the Wii U.

Dead or Alive 5’s launch trailer will get your blood pumping

One of the things that Tecmo Koei has been trying to promote for Dead or Alive 5 is the fact that the game will be more action packed than ever before, especially for a fighting game. Well, today the company released a launch trailer considering the game is coming out next week and if this trailer is anything to go by, they certainly have succeeded.

The trailer can be seen below and features nearly every character in the roster taking each other out with brutal attacks, causing massive damage, explosions and just pure chaos. Considering the game is out next week, you may only have a short time left to pre-order the game and get yourself some special bunny bikinis, so lay that money down now as Dead or Alive 5’s may be the best Dead or Alive game yet.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus 2 revealed for the PS Vita

If you enjoyed playing Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus on your PlayStation Vita when it was first released earlier this year, then you will be delighted to hear that Tecmo Koei and Team Ninja are planning on bringing Ninja Gaiden 2 to the PlayStation Vita as well in the form of Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus 2.

There is little information about the game at the moment considering it was just announced during Tecmo Koei’s Tokyo Game Show press conference today, but it is known that the game will be released sometime in early 2013 and that the game will be given the same treatment as Ninja Gaiden 1 was given for the Vita port.

Yaiba turns into Ninja Gaiden Z at TGS

You remember the game called Yaiba that we learned about last week? Well it turns out that that wasn’t the full name of the title. Keiji Inafune announced today during Tecmo Koei’s Tokyo Game Show event that the full game is actually called Yaiba Ninja Gaiden Z. Are your minds blown yet?

When Inafune described the project he said that it was a “dream come true” and something he’s wanted to do since leaving Capcom. Tecmo Koei already stated they are teaming up with western developer Spark to make the title. As for that Yaiba name? Well it is the name of the new protagonist in Ninja Gaiden Z which is out to kill Ryu Hayabusa. You can check out the trailer below to see just how over the top this Ninja Gaiden will be, with robots, zombies and more.

Are you the type of player that likes card and board games, but having been liking a quality one for your tablet device?  If you have then you just happen to be in luck as the League of Geeks has been designing the game for you.  Part strategy, part board, and part card game Armello is a multiplayer experience set in a fairy tale animal kingdom.  With a evil and mad king threatening the kingdom, four animal clans seek to claim the crown for themselves.

Borderlands 2 Sydney Launch Event Coverage

Last night us here at Capsule Computers were invited down to a club in Sydney to celebrate the launch of the just released Borderlands 2. The event was full of fun and entertainment as well as an opportunity to go hands on with the game just before its launch here in Australia.

The event itself was an incredibly well decorated affair, with wanted posters of the main characters up on display, various awesome looking posters of characters from both games in the series and more. What was even cooler was that they had people dressing up as some of the bad guys from the game doing poses for everyones amusement. Better than that though, were the Borderland models. They were dressed to impress and were armed with Nerf gattling guns.

The game itself was set up on 5-6 different Xbox360 consoles and spread across the back wall of the room. What was really cool was that they were set up with co-operative multiplayer. This means that journalists and other forms of media were able to play together and experience the content more enjoyably than they would solo.

Speaking about the game, as you’d know, this is the sequel to the first Borderlands which appeared on the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC devices. What’s interesting about this sequel is that whilst it’s still set on Pandora, it is the planet under a different kind of climate (from the portions I played). This gave the games already unique art-style an interesting feel to it, a way that separates it from the original whilst still feeling the same. For our full impressions of the game, be sure to check out our review when we get it up later this week.

What was quite interesting with this title was that the team have somehow been able to introduce even more weapons into the game in comparison to the first. So whilst you’ll have all of your familiar feeling stuff, you’ll also have plenty of new feeling toys to play with. This was quite cool.

The only thing that I’m disappointed with in regards to this event was that there wasn’t a PC version of the game available. As someone who rarely plays shooters on a console, I found that using a controller was really unnatural and weird. This is only a personal preference as I noticed console gamers having a much easier time with the control scheme. And honestly speaking, once I got used to the controls, they weren’t too bad.

Overall the event was an amazing time and it was incredibly cool to go hands-on with the game just before it launched. Everyone had a tonne of fun and I think that everyone at home will have as much fun as I did with this game, if not more.
