Nintendo Confirm Wii U European Launch Titles

Nintendo of Europe have confirmed a list of Wii U titles available on the European launch date of November 30 as well as game that will be available during the launch window. The image (courtesy of VG247) above lists nine games that will be available on November 30. These include New Super Mario Bros U, Nintendoland, Rayman Legends, Mass Effect 3 and FIFA 13. What is odd with this list is that it doesn’t list Call of Duty: Black Ops II, which was announced for the Wii U in November.

The launch window will run from day one of the Wii U’s availability to the end of March 2013. In total, there are at least 50 games that will be released in this launch period. Dragon Quest X Beta Access With Wii U Premium

Japan is getting a huge exclusive incentive for purchasing the Wii U Premium bundle. Access to the Dragon Quest X beta will be given to Japanese gamers who purchase the Wii U Premium bundle from it’s release date on December 8th.

The beta is set to begin shortly after the Wii U release date itself. Players will have the ability to import their save files from the beta into their full retail version of Dragon Quest X once it is released, the date of which, at this early juncture, is understandably a mystery.

Wii U Display Vs. Tablet Display

Coming out of the Wii U conference I couldn’t help but want to reflect on something peculiar that was happening on screen. You see, during this conference, we were shown the display output of both the Wii U and it’s tablet whilst games were being played by demonstrators on the stage. Now normally, one would expect for the tablet and the actual console outputs to be the same. This was not the case with what I could see.

The most notable things that I noticed with the differences in the two displays was that the tablet was actually outputting much more smoothly than the Wii U output, and that the bloom effects on the tablet were much more blurrier. The only cause for this, technically speaking, is that the tablet must be outputting at a lower resolution in comparison to the Wii U itself. By my estimates, I’d say that the Wii U is outputting at a display resolution of 1920×1080 or 1080p; whereas the tablet control would logically be displaying at the next highest level, which would be at 1280×720, or 720p.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 heading to the Wii U

We all know Nintendo’s long and healthy history with Activision’s Call of Duty franchise right? Oh you don’t? Well never mind that good news for Call of Duty fans is that the latest instalment in the never dying franchise Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 will be heading to the Wii U console.

The game was shown off during Nintendo’s North American Nintendo Direct conference in which it was revealed that the game can be entirely played from the Wii U Gamepad controller, in both single player and multiplayer gameplay.

Wii U European Launch Details Announced

We have just learned European release details for the Wii U at ‘European Nintendo Wii U Preview Event’. Coming to European stores on November 30th – 12 days after the U.S. and 8 days before Japan – the Wii U will come in two bundles, just as we’ve heard from the Japanese and U.S. preview events.

First, the ‘Basic’ bundle, which will come with the Wii U (of course), a Wii U Gamepad, an AC Adaptor, a High Speed HDMI and Sensor Bar. The console will come in white and will have 8GB internal flash memory. The ‘Premium’ bundle will come will all the aforementioned hardware and features, plus a Gamepad docking stand and charging cradle, a copy of Nintendoland, more memory – 32GB to be exact – and a one year subscription to the Nintendo Network, which will net you 10% off digital downloads. The Premium bundle Wii U will also be available in black instead of white.

Project P-100 now titled Wonderful 101

Nintendo have revealed during their North American Nintendo Direct conference that the thus far tentatively titled Project P-100 for the Wii U has now been officially titled The Wonderful 101.

The title refers to the super hero characters within the game which are known as the Wonderful 101. The game is being developed by Platinum Games exclusively for the console and appears to be a mix between Viewtiful Joe and Pikmin. The Wonderful 101 is set to be a launch title for the Wii U.

BAYONETTA 2 ANNOUNCED WII U EXCLUSIVE

At the live conference for the Nintendo Wii-U many fans pants may have exploded in relation to this announcement. BAYONETTA 2 IS COMING THE WII-U AS AN EXCLUSIVE! As you may have noticed, I am incredibly excited for this title!

The first Bayonetta title was an amazing action game with a similar feel to the Devil May Cry series in terms of gameplay, but it had an amazing sense of humour that went great with the games over the top themes. Fans will definitely want to pick up a Wii-U for this title. It is looking like it will be a launch title, but only time will tell.

Nintendo TVii Announced

Nintendo have just announced one of their upcoming services for their Nintendo Wii-U console called the Nintendo TVii. Yes, that is right, it is pronounced TV but is multilated to include two i’s so as to remain consistent with the Wii theme.

The service will allow users to browse between television programs across a library of services. It can also access your DVR library. Here are the announced services so far: Hulu, Amazon and Netflix. Players will also be able to watch films and access other kinds of services from this program.

There is also Mii integration where players will be able to order programs for each person in the household, make recommendations and more. What I found most interesting though, is the on-screen remote control, which looks quite similar to an old fashioned phone dial.

Wii U North American Launch Date and Price Revealed

Nintendo have revealed the North American release date and price for their latest console the Wii U during their North American Nintendo Direct press conference.

They announced that the Wii U will release on November 18th, 2012 a month ahead of the Japanese release of the console. It will also be released in two different versions. The basic bundle which will retail for $299.99, and the premium bundle costing $349.99. The difference between the bundles is colour and storage space. The basic version will be white and include 8GB flash storage and the premium version will be black and include 32GB flash storage.

The premium version comes packaged with the Wii U itself, Wii U Gamepad, AC units for both the console and Gamepad, a HDMI cable, a Nintendo Network Premium Membership as well as a stand for both the console and Gamepad.

Crash and burn with Stunt Star
