Tales of Hearts R’s new character Garad shown off in latest screens

Today Famitsu released a few new screenshots for Tales of Hearts R which focus on the new character Garad Grinas as well as the game’s Chase Links system. As we’ve already reported Garad travels the main character Shing in order to help put a stop to the Despir disease which claimed the life of his wife and daughter.

Garad will use an axe and machete combo in battle and with Kohak Hearts looking similar to his daughter and also infected with the Despir virus, he fights alongside the group in an effort to eradicate the disease for good. Screenshots of both him and the Chase Link system in action can be seen below while the game itself is currently set for a Japanese release sometime in 2013.

This Monster Monpiece gameplay video cannot be described

Well… I suppose that yes it could be described but you should really just watch the video below and you will be able to come up with the same exact description that I would be using right this second. Either way, you can find the first gameplay video for Monster Monpiece below where the game’s most… popular… feature is shown off.

That feature being the fact that while the game is a card game, players can use Monster Monpiece’s “extreme rub” system that will help expose the weak points of enemy cards… by rubbing the front and back touch panels and stripping them of clothing while they moan. Well… this one is never making the venture overseas, but stranger things have happened. Anyways, Monster Monpiece is currently set for a January 24th release date in Japan.

Kodomo no Jikan manga will end soon

Today it was announced by Kaworu Watashiya, the author of Kodomo no Jikan, over Twitter that her manga will be ending soon. She did not specify an exact end date, but did say that the manga would not be ending in the January issue of Futabasha’s Comic High!. The fact that a finale is approaching should come as no surprise to readers of the manga as the story has been approaching a finishing point over the last few months.

For those who don’t know, Kodomo no Jikan follows the story of a teacher who is in charge of an elementary school class that contains a very precocious female student. It is worth noting that the series does contain high levels of questionable content involving underage girls. It is also worth noting that the manga did receive an anime series back in 2007 and a few OVA series packaged in the full volume’s of the series, though given the possible legality of what is shown in the series, there has never been a chance of Kodomo no Jikan making its way overseas.

Mirror’s Edge 2 Confirmed

Ben Cousins, a former Executive Producer of DICE and employee of EA (now general manager of ngmoco in Sweden) has come forward with the news that Mirror’s Edge 2 is indeed in development. The original Mirror’s Edge was released in 2008 to mixed reviews but a mostly positive fan reception. Players took on the role of a parkouring messenger in the not-so-distant future where everything is controlled by the government.

“It is general knowledge in the Stockholm dev scene that Mirror’s Edge 2 is in production at DICE” – Ben Cousins Tweets

DICE had been hinting at such an announcement in a recent interview with Official Xbox Magazine when asked about the risks of developing something other than a guaranteed success like Battlefield, namely Mirror’s Edge. Good news for free-running fans then, if the Assassin’s Creed franchise isn’t giving you the adrenaline of leaping off skyscrapers in first-person, you’ll know just where to look in the near future.

Bioware Asks Your Opinion On Next Mass Effect Game

“Wait a minute Mordin, you’re just hoping for another appearance in a Mass Effect game!” “Shocking suggestion!”

As was previously ascertained via an official blog post (which we covered here), Mass Effect 4 is moving into the earliest stages of pre-production as we speak. So early, in fact, that Bioware are asking us for suggestions on the direction of the game.

Executive Producer of the Mass Effect series, Casey Hudson, has taken to his Twitter account to ask fans when they would prefer the next entry in the franchise to be set. He wrote, “Parsing through your thoughts on the next #ME game. Would you be more interested in a game that takes place before the trilogy, or after?” Many have responded, and Hudson has already given “Thanks for your feedback on what you want from the next #MassEffect game. Great texture and thought in your comments, which help us focus.”

No doubt they will constantly be listening to the fans via social media throughout these most important beginning stages of the game’s development, and we know our readers have some strong (constructive!) opinions on the matter, so feel free to express them to @CaseyDHudson and in our comments section below. Have your voices heard.

Three Dead Zed Arrives on Xbox 360

Three Dead Zed has finally made its way to the Xbox 360. Originally a PC release (check out review here), this comedic platformer focuses on a single experimental zombie as it attempts to escape its lab. On the prowl and equipped with three different forms including a fast light-weight and agile form, a heavy tank-like form and a regular plain zombie that we all know and love, this zombie is out for brains! The player controlling all these crazy types can swap who they play as on the fly, allowing for creative uses of all three zombies to overcome puzzles.

Game features include:

  • Hand-drawn characters and environments
  • In-game achievements
  • Fun story line featuring in-game narration
  • Special unlockable challenge stages
  • Gamepad and keyboard support
  • Cats wearing tin foil hats!

Players must overcome many platforming obstacles along the way and attempt to escape the crazy laboratory they find themselves in, all while rescuing cats and kittens along the way. Available now for the Xbox 360 and PC and developed by Gentleman Squid Studio, Three Dead Zed is on special for $3 during the holiday season, but the deal won’t last for long.
