Big news to all of you fans of survival horror out there, as the cult favorite Deadly Premonition is heading to Australia due to the upcoming PS3 version titled Deadly Premonition: Director’s Cut. I have went on and on in the past of how much I love this little gem, as it has been my personal favorite game of this generation. Yes, it has flaws, but for every flaw, there is ten times more charm and atmosphere.
There really is nothing else like it, and just like the critics, you’re either going to love it or hate it. Rising Star Games have the privilege of bringing this title overseas, and Aussies and New Zealanders alike can pick it up when it hits shops this April. For now, check out a few new screenshots down below that show off one of the beginning chapters in the game.
As many of you may know, last week Viz’s Shonen Jump Alpha transformed into Weekly Shōnen Jump by bringing their weekly digital manga releases up to the same day as Japan’s Weekly Shōnen Jump Magazine is released. To commemorate this transformation, Viz’s Weekly Shōnen Jump January 21, 2013 saw a few minor aesthetic changes such as an enhanced introductory and recap section for each manga and a better looking glossary, as well as the debut of a new weekly manga called One-Punch Man.
Alongside the debut of One-Punch Man and his power to instantly kill enemies with only one hit last Monday, we also saw a full color spread of Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura wearing classic Chinese samurai armor, with Naruto wearing a special Nine-Tail fox themed headpiece. In fact, Naruto received quite the highlight in Weekly Shonen Jump’s debut issue as it not only included the aforementioned color insert, but it also was featured prominently on the issue’s cover and included a note from the series’ mangaka Masashi Kishimoto congratulating the company for going simultaneous.
Not only did this issue feature the oddly intriguing One-Punch Man and focus on Naruto, the issue featured One Piece as Usopp and Franky taking on a new set of enemies appearing on Punk Hazard, a good friend losing her glasses in the rom-com Nisekoi leading to a number of comedic misunderstandings with the idiot-couple and the return of the most feared warrior in the Gotei 13 facing off against what may be the strongest Soul Reaper in Bleach.
To keep things a bit fresh with sports this issue also featured the next chapter of Cross Manage, a series focusing on a girls Lacrosse team as they enter into their first game and do their best to win. However in the world of the Gourmet Age, Toriko and the gang encounter the Gourmet Corp as they invade the Cooking Festival for nefarious reasons. Finally Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal closes things out in this issue with Kaito and Hishakaku’s duel taking a turn for the worse when Kyoji pulls a dirty trick to throw Kaito off of his game.
The debut issue closes out with an advertisement for Yu-Gi-Oh! cards and an article covering the Abyss Rising Booster Pack. Also announced in the final page is the fact that January 28th’s issue will see the one-shot manga from the famous Akira Toriyama titled Kintoiki. This serves as a great debut issue for Viz’s newly revamped and simultaneous Weekly Shonen Jump by offering not only a new series and a number of intense battles but also the announcement of a highly regarded mangaka’s next one-shot.

Pingo is new game that combines the basic concepts within Bingo and Poker to create an addicting puzzle that was specifically developed for the OUYA for the OUYA CREATE contest. Currently all the contest contestants have been entered, so all the developers can do right now is work on two things, the game itself and building fan reception to a video of the game, which helps to determine the winner.
In its current prototype form, Pingo has only two modes Casual and Speed Mode. Casual tasks players with building the best Poker hands in a 5×5 grid, where they match Bingo style; horizontal, vertical, or diagonal. While Speed Mode gives multiplies for quicker placement. However, there can definitely be many more ways to play in the completed game.
Pingo is being developed by 1-Pup Games whose creator and owner Eve Park, or The Girl With Blue Hair, can been seen in the video below talking about the game. Wanting those interested to share it out and help her to make the game she hopes to. Players can check out a small gallery of screenshots from Pingo below and those interested in helping playtest a web demo can find the contact email in the video too.
EA Mobile announced their latest iOS game, TMI Trivia. The game is a pop culture and current events trivia game that personalizes the game to each and every player. The game will be personalized based of player’s Facebook profiles, iTune profiles, and survey answers provided by the player. TMI Trivia has content provided by Variety, SPIN, Celebuzz, and Fanhattan with more content partners in the future.
“There are three things that make TMi Trivia revolutionary,” said Jon Dean, Vice President and Executive Producer at EA All Play. “Firstly, our questions are fun because they are about topics you know and love, including music, TV, and movies. Secondly, TMi Trivia is a connected, social game, so the questions are always fresh and relevant. Finally, the game is personalized and adapted based on your interests and your friends’ interests. The more you play, the more the game gains intelligence of what you like, and it delivers content based on your past playing habits.”
The game is played with up to five players answering the same set of questions, racing against the clock. TMI Trivia will be free to download and play. The game will first launch in Canada followed by a worldwide release in the coming months. Find out more about TMI Trivia at the official Facebook page here.
