Madden NFL 25 confirmed as this year’s madden release

madden-25

Yesterday EA posted the above image and provided pretty much zero information about what fans should expect from Madden 25. Well today EA has detailed their announcement by confirming suspicions that this year’s Madden title will indeed be called Madden NFL 25 to celebrate the series’ 25 years on store shelves instead of the basic Madden NFL 14.

The company also announced that fans will be able to start vting for the cover athlete beginning on March 11th where two 32-player brackets can be voted on on ESPN and SportsNation. One bracket will feature all-time greats and historic players while the other bracket will feature modern day players.

To go along with this announcement the company also stated that over the series’ 25 years the Madden Franchise has managed to sell 99 million units and EA Sports has garnered “more than $3.7 billion in net revenue.”

Interestingly enough, rather than their usual practice of releasing the game on any system possible, so far EA has only announced Madden NFL 25 for the game to be released on August 27th for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Etrian Odyssey IV’s Runemaster class handles the AoE spells

etrian-odyssey-iv-runemaster

Every good party needs a class that can deal massive elemental damage to a number of enemies and it seems in Etrian Odyssey IV: Legends of the Titan that job falls to the Runemaster. Don’t take my word for it, check out the gameplay trailer below which highlights their skills and use in the party.

It is worth noting that you should probably keep note of where these Runemasters are placed in the fight however, since they will likely be glass cannons that need protection. Anyways, Etrian Odyssey IV’s demo will be available on the Nintendo eShop next week and the game itself will be available for digital download or physical purchase once it is released on February 26th.

Sleeping Dogs’ Year of the Snake DLC to arrive in Q1

sleeping-dogs-snake- (3)

It looks like the Sleeping Dogs DLC isn’t about to roll over now that 2012 has ended. In fact Square Enix has provided a release window and some details about Cult of the Snake. Currently the story expansion will feature Wei Shen working with the police to take down the Cult of the Snake sometime in February or March and with this story expansion a number of new abilities, outfits and weapons will also be included.

Besides this, Square Enix also announced a couple more DLC packs that unlock various gear such as the Law Enforcer Pack which features various crime-fighting outfits, vehicles and weaponry and the Wheels of Fury pack that provides the DZS-90 “Weaponized Supercar.” Also if you haven’t been paying attention, you may have missed that the Monkey King and Movie Masters packs were also released this week, though from the looks of the image above, fighting as a gold-plated man seems to make you’re enemies extremely bored…

Skyrim’s DLC dated for the PlayStation 3

skyrim-dragonborn-dlc- (6)

Some of you may remember that Bethesda finally announced a release window for the PS3 version of Skyrim’s DLC. That release window was some time in February but today Bethesda decided to come out with some more concrete release dates for each DLC pack currently released.

The recently released Dragonborn DLC will be released first on February 12th followed by Hearthfire on February 19th and finally Dawnguard closing things out on February 26th. It is worth noting that during the first week of each expansion’s release the DLC will be on sale for half-off the standard price, which has yet to be announced but will likely be the same as the Xbox 360 version’s pricing of $20 for Dragonborn and Dawnguard and $5 for Hearthfire.
