The Battle for Survival Begins! Thrilling New PC Demo for Lost Isle to Launch During Steam Next Fest

Shipwrecked. Hunted. Not Alone. Get hands-on with this thrilling first-person PvP & PvE open-world survival action game!

Utah, United States – 6 June, 2025. Wunder Entertainment, the exciting indie studio, is proud to announce that a brand-new PC demo for its debut title Lost Isle, a first-person, open-world survival crafting game featuring thrilling PvP and PvE gameplay, will be available during the upcoming Steam Next Fest. Available from 9 June on Steam, the Lost Isle demo pits you against monstrous beasts and up to 200 players battling for survival in the deadly, procedurally generated fantasy world. Lost Isle will be releasing for PC via Steam later in 2025. Discover the secrets of the island and get ready to battle for your very survival by downloading the new demo during Steam Next Fest from 9 – 16 June.

After setting sail for the Lost Isle to stake your claim of wealth and glory, you are thrown overboard in a violent storm, and now you’ve washed ashore with nothing but a small knife and a single candle. You must carve out an existence in an unforgiving environment disguised as a paradise. But you are not the only survivor, and everyone (and everything) is after the same thing…survival at any cost!

Lost Isle is a game of ingenuity and sheer will to survive. Each experience is what you make of it. Every day is a new chance to rise to the top, and every death is an opportunity for sweet revenge.

Inspired by other incredible survival games that we all know and love, Lost Isle takes the open-world survival craft genre and adds a medieval fantasy twist that will feel like a fresh and unique experience.

A Paradise That Fights Back

With support for up to 200 players per server, Lost Isle delivers intense PvP skirmishes alongside challenging PvE encounters in a sprawling, procedurally generated world. Whether you choose to go it alone, form uneasy alliances, or build a fortress with your friends, the island will test your will to survive.

Engage in tense, directional melee combat that rewards skill and timing. Track and hunt wildlife for resources, fend off wolves and sharks, and prepare for terrifying battles against skeletal warriors, forest golems, and twisted night beasts born of forgotten magic.

Whether you wield a sword, bow, or spell, your playstyle is your own, but be warned: death means loss, though progress toward research and skills will remain until the next server wipe.

Lore-Laced Survival

Lost Isle is set in a medieval world twisted by forgotten lore. The island is the prison tomb of the fallen god Mauroth, whose cosmic energies flow through the earth itself, into every root and vein. You’ll harvest mysterious minerals, forge gear from enchanted roots and hide, and cook meals from whatever strange meat and plants you scavenge.

Explore haunted ruins, uncover ancient journals, and survive corrupted monuments in high-risk zones guarded by dark magic and maddening effects that twist your mind the longer you stay. The best loot comes with the highest risk!

Your Story, Your Strategy, Your Survival

Craft weapons and armour across multiple tiers, build bases that reflect your strategy and style, and battle toward dominance in a world that remembers every betrayal. Procedural terrain, unpredictable encounters, and dynamic day-night cycles ensure that no two lives on the Lost Isle are ever the same.

Basic mounts and boats help traverse the vast terrain, but secrets lie off the beaten path. Treasure maps, hidden relics, and forgotten lore await those bold enough to seek them.

Lost Isle will be launching for PC via Steam later in 2025. Download the demo and add it to your Wishlist now!

ANIMO STARS ARENA KICKSTARTER CAMPAIGN LAUNCHES TODAY

ANIMO Industries Introduces Its Mech Arena Shooter at Summer Games Fest with New Gameplay at The MIX and New Trailer Debut During Future Games Show Live at SGF

SUMMER GAMES FEST: LOS ANGELES & MIAMI, FRIDAY, JUNE 6, 2025 – Indie game studio ANIMO Industries is excited to announce the Kickstarter campaign launch for its inaugural game ANIMO Stars Arena. Players choose their favorite animal pilot, customize a mech war machine, and hunt their prey in this adorably destructive multiplayer shooter.

The start of the crowdfunding campaign coincides with the kick-off of Summer Games Fest. ANIMO is participating in The MIX Summer Game Showcase in-person event today, where attendees can get hands-on with all-new gameplay, followed by the debut of a new ANIMO Stars Arena trailer during Saturday’s Future Games Show Live at SGF broadcast showcase. Those not attending SGF can download an early playable demo on Steam.

A 2024 GDC Pitch Finalist, ANIMO Stars Arena is a casual shooter that allows players to fully customize their hanger of ludicrously overpowered combat mechs, then team up in a wide variety of gameplay modes and wreak havoc on their enemies in challenging and ever-evolving battlescape environments. The mechs are tailored by swapping between dozens of cabins and bumpers; choosing a traversal engine such as treads, wheels, hovercrafts and more; and then arming it with a host of special weapons like flamethrowers and grappling hooks. Further personalization comes from paint colors and themes, and choosing the driver from a cast of cuddly but cunning, scaled, or fiercely feathered fighter pilots. Multiple play modes provide action for all types of players.

“When we first conceived the idea of cute pet animals piloting crazy powerful mechanical juggernauts, we knew we had the opportunity to make something special in the shooter space; something that could recapture the lighter and more accessible tone of classic multiplayer Nintendo games of our youth,” explained  Diego Santana, ANIMO’s executive producer. As the vision became clearer, we incorporated everyone’s favorite multiplayer modes, and some new ones that we think will excite both casual players and more traditional competitive multiplayer shooter fans.”

ANIMO Stars Arena is the first title from ANIMO Industries, a new studio comprised of veteran talent from companies such as Activision, Crytek, Epic, Guerrilla Games, WB Games, and more, with credits on titles including Fortnite, Call of Duty, Horizon: Zero Dawn, and Killzone: Shadowfall. The team shares a nostalgia for the playful fun and accessibility of classic games of the past, as well as a commitment to creating fun and engaging competitive game experiences that a broad range of players can enjoy.

“The team has been working hard on making ANIMO Stars Arena a truly unique experience, filling a gap in the mech shooter space, and we’re energized by the response the game has received thus far. Slated for release next year, we are already planning to follow the ANIMO Stars Arena launch with an even more ambitious game that will allow players to design their own pilots, mechs, and battlescapes and trade them with the community,” said Dave Miller, ANIMO CEO. “We believe in this universe we’ve created and its appeal as a long-term franchise.”

The Kickstarter for ANIMO Stars Arena launches today, with several compelling levels of support including exclusive and limited edition digital and physical rewards, and the goal to raise $150,000 to complete the game and launch in the first half of 2026. Players can show their support, download the demo and wishlist on Steam.

About ANIMO Industries:

Weforge Studio Launches Demo & Trailer for ‘Macabre’ During Steam Next Fest

Take on Banjo’s Trial and face the Rift in this high-stakes, procedural co-op horror demo

Sydney – 6 June, 2025 – Australian independent developer WeForge Studio will launch the first public demo and a brand-new gameplay trailer for its upcoming co-op stealth extraction horror game Macabreavailable exclusively during Steam Next Fest from 9–16 June.

Titled Banjo’s Trial, the demo gives players their first taste of the Rift. Guided by NPC Banjo, you’ll take on an early objective to gather intel on Macabre, a shapeshifting horror that evolves based on player behaviour. The trial introduces key systems from the full game — including procedural maps, shifting objectives, and extraction-based co-op — all built for replayability and unpredictable runs.

“Listen up. Macabre’s adapting faster than I expected, and I need someone reckless enough to gather intel on the bastard. I’ll drop you into the Rift with a Space Shifter — but you’ll need to scavenge what you can, and survive what you can’t. Work together if you have to… just know, not everyone makes it out.”  — Banjo

Demo features include:

  • Explore Snowgum Retreat, a hostile procedural map with shifting layouts and threats
  • Take on Banjo’s Trial, an early mission to gather intel on the Crawler
  • Play solo or with up to 3 others in high-stakes, betrayal-prone PvE co-op
  • Loot, sneak, and survive as you fight to extract with whatever you can carry
  • Purchase and experiment with early-game equipment and tools
  • Face the Crawler, an unpredictable predator that adapts to your tactics
  • Navigate dynamic weather, from thick fog to blinding storms, as conditions shift between runs

“With Macabre, we’ve designed a loop that pressures players to make hard calls — when to sneak, when to risk a distraction, when to betray. The demo pushes those systems: every tool, every enemy behaviour, every map shift is tuned to provoke a reaction. With procedural layouts, shifting objectives, and adaptive threats, there are millions of possible scenarios — and we want to see how players navigate them.”
 — Jake Davey, Game Director

“As a team of just three full-time developers and a handful of freelancers, getting here has been a massive task. Our alpha test subjects have helped shape Macabre’s foundation, and now we’re opening it up. This demo is about putting the game in real players’ hands, seeing what holds up, and figuring out what to improve next.”
 — Jay Topping, Creative Director

Macabre is currently in alpha and has surpassed 217,000 wishlists on Steam. Early Access is planned for late 2025.
The Banjo’s Trial demo will be available exclusively during Steam Next Fest, running from 9–16 June.

VIRAL INDIE HORROR DEV ANNOUNCES NEW FOUND FOOTAGE TITLE ‘DEADCAM,’ COMING TO STEAM JUNE 23

The breakout dev behind ‘Don’t Scream’ is back with DEADCAM, a survival horror game set in a series of VHS recordings.

Singapore, June 5, 2025 | Joure Visser, a developer behind 2023’s viral success Don’t Scream, is excited to announce his latest project, DEADCAM. The 90s-inspired survival horror game invites players into a series of haunting encounters told through found footage recordings. The game is coming to Steam Early Access on June 23rd, and a demo will be available during Steam Next Fest this month.

Chilling J-Horror

DEADCAM applies the 90s analog aesthetic to a variety of gritty horror experiences. By navigating through various found footage recordings, players engage with a diverse collection of stories ranging from survival horror to psychological thrillers. Each self-contained encounter, or ‘file,’ boasts a unique setting and narrative. Uncover the mystery of these haunts by completing each file before proceeding to the next. DEADCAM’s Early Access introduces players to the first encounter, an atmospheric J-Horror challenge set in an abandoned school. Four additional encounters will be added throughout the Early Access period.

Explosive Encounters

DEADCAM’s found footage recordings see players through different stories; each file features its own setting, narrative, and gameplay mechanics tailored to the tone of the story. Across each file, retro UI elements monitor haunted activity in the area, including the size and speed of nearby enemy mobs. Idle opponents may walk or sprint to your location, forcing you to confront a handful–or a horde–of enemies. DEADCAM offers a variety of weapons, from firearms like pistols and shotguns to more brutal tools like flamethrowers and chainsaws. These handheld weapons, while powerful, require aiming before firing, which reduces movement speed. Melee weapons, such as the katana, also play a key role. Though quicker to use, melee weapons risk close-quarters vulnerability. As you battle through each encounter, monitor your vitality to make it out alive. A limited number of medkits are available, adding a layer of resource management to gameplay.

Early Access Coming Soon

The game’s Early Access arrives on Steam on June 23rd and will launch with the first of five files. Set in an abandoned Japanese high school, the file offers roughly an hour of gameplay. In this encounter, players can find and use three weapons: a katana, a pistol, and a shotgun. The file features three possible endings, but only one unlocks the full 100% playback percentage—the “good” ending. Details of the remaining four files will be announced soon.

Early Access Features

  • Nostalgic ’90s analog and chilling found footage combine for an atmospheric survival horror experience
  • Experience the first of five chilling encounters in Early Access on June 23rd.
  • Find three weapons hidden in the first file: a katana, a shotgun, and a pistol.
  • One-hour files offer chilling experiences at breakneck speed.
  • Manage resources, such as medkits, to replenish your vitality during tough encounters.
  • Handheld weapons require aiming, which slows movement speed, while melee combat risks close-quarter enemy encounters.
  • Experience one of three possible endings, or fight to find them all.

DEADCAM’s Early Access is coming to Steam on June 23rd. Experience a preview in the game’s demo, available during Steam Next Fest.
