Valve has stated outright over the course of their announcements that they will be integrating a Steam client that’s compatible with the Linux platform, and that the Steam Machine would be utilizing a Linux-based SteamOS. Today, Valve took another step towards supporting Linux. They’ve announced that they’ve joined forces with Linux Foundation, a non-profit organization whose goal is to promote the Linux platform and to see the growth of the platform in popularity.

“Joining the Linux Foundation is one of many ways Valve is investing in the advancement of Linux gaming. Through these efforts, we hope to contribute tools for developers building new experiences on Linux, compel hardware manufacturers to prioritize support for Linux, and ultimately deliver an elegant and open platform for Linux users,” said Mike Sartain of Valve. Ever since Kakashi’s first appearance, both on the page and on-screen, he has been a fan favourite that has also been in a constant cloud of mystery, some would say that half of Kakashi’s appeal as a character is brought out more by what you DON’T know about him than what you DO know about him and I’d have to agree entirely. Fans of both Naruto Shippuden and the character of Kakashi will be pleased to know that a new Naruto Anime special as been announced and it is to focus on Kakashi’s past. It is titled; “Kakashi Anbu Chapter – The Shinobi Who Lives In The Shadows and will”, obviously, revolve around his time in the Anbu Corps. Anbu, for those of you who don’t know, are basically the Naruto world’s version of a highly-trained and incredibly deadly Black Ops unit.

ooked upon member before he decided to change paths and become what is basically a teacher. Throughout most of the series he serves as the Team 7 (Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura) leader and is present in almost every crucial moment throughout the story. Other characters to appear in the special will be Hiruzen Sarutobi, Minato Namikaze, Yamato, Itachi Uchiha and plenty more. We’ll be diving into the rich history of Hidden Leaf Village alongside it’s most elite soldiers, it’s really not a special any fan of Naruto is going to want to miss. The special is set to begin airing on the 6th of February next year, obviously there’s no talks of any localisation because it was only just announced in Japan but, seeing as it’s Naruto, I’m sure we’ll be seeing it on our shores sooner or later.

Broken Sword 5- The Serpent’s Curse Now Available

broken-sword-5-serpents-curse-logoBroken Sword is returning to its point and click roots with the fifth entry in the series, The Serpent’s Curse. Recent entries had strayed away from the traditional point and click set up in favour of more action elements, but Revolution Software is hoping that the series is going to make a triumphant return thanks to a team of developers including talent from the original Broken Sword team.

“This has been a labour of love not just for us here at Revolution but the entire Broken Sword community too. We have been privileged to be able to make the game we’ve wanted to thanks to the generous support of our Kickstarter supporters, who really have given us the freedom to take the series to new heights.”
Charles Cecil, founder of Revolution Software.

The Serpent’s Curse casts players as “intrepid American” George Stobbart and journalist Nico Collard, who set off to find a stolen painting but find themselves amidst a much darker conspiracy. After witnessing the theft of the seemingly worthless art from a Parisian art gallery, the two find themselves on a globe trotting adventure centered around the Gnostic Gospels, a relic that mystery fans who have ever perused a bit of Dan Brown will be well aware of.

With the official Western debut of Bravely Default just days away now on the Nintendo 3DS, the Japanese are moving on to bigger things as the existence of the sequel, titled Bravely Second, has just been confirmed by a magazine scan.

So far there’s some artwork showing off an area and one of the characters by the name of Magnolia, and there’s also a glimpse of an in-game character model which looks pretty similar to the style of the first game.

Let’s not ask questions about localization plans now, the fact that we’re even getting the first game here is a miracle in of itself. Still, it’s good news that the IP has taken off so well.

We will keep you posted on any developments regarding Bravely Second, but more importantly look forward to our Bravely Default review soon!
