“The Last Of Us” – “Left Behind” DLC Launch Trailer Released

the-last-of-us-left-behind-title-01

Sony alongside Naughty Dog are extremely excited to announce that the brand-new DLC for their hit game “The Last Of Us” has just been released and with it comes a fantastic-looking and ultimately heart-wrenching launch day trailer that is sure to get fans of the game both excited and a little bit mournful. The DLC “Left Behind” serves as a prequel to the main story of the game. Within the story you will play as Ellie, Joel’s right-hand girl, but this time it seems like she’s the leader of the duo as she roams around with her old friend Riley who, up until the point of the DLC, had been missing for quite some time.

Ellie had not yet met Joel and I believe this DLC will add even more depth to the full game as well as the character of Ellie as it dives deeper into her past and her, let’s say, “origins”. The game has been released for all countries where the date is the 14th of February so if you do live in a location where that is the case; congratulations! You’re about to start playing a new DLC! The game will go for roughly $14.99, depending on where in the world you live, and can be downloaded through the PlayStation Network. The trailer for the “Left Behind” is just below this post so head down there to check it out.

“Rusty’s Real Deal Baseball” Announced For The 3DS

Rustys-Real-Deal-Baseball-Nintendo-Direct-Screenshot-01

Baseball…the hitting swing of a bat, the swift pitch of a ball, the successful stealing of a base, it’s those things that truly make baseball enjoyable. At today’s Nintendo Direct presentation a new game titled “Rusty’s Real Deal Baseball” was announced for the Nintendo 3DS system. As you can probably already tell, this is a sports game that revolves around baseball but the way it is played isn’t as conventional as I believe you would all assume.

Usually the release of a sports game means that, within the game, you choose a team along with some players and you actually play a match…not in “Rusty’s Real Deal Baseball”. Instead, Nintendo have decided to focus on the good feelings of a baseball game instead of on the actual game itself…I’ll be real with you all; there will be no actual baseball game playing within this title.

It is a “free to start” game (which means downloading is free but there’s plenty of in-game apps for you to spend your money on) that offers players the chance to “practice” the different aspects of baseball playing and, in turn, obtain the satisfaction of doing certain things like hitting a home run or throwing the perfect pitch without actually playing a game.

“Rusty’s Real Deal Baseball” allows you to do more than just hit and pitch, you can also be the umpire and make your own calls. Ball? Strike? That’s now up to you! It is a game essentially made up of a whole bunch of mini-games, all of which can be purchased within the title. “Rusty’s Real Deal Baseball” is set to hit the Nintendo eShop in April. The trailer for the game from the Nintendo Direct presentation is below in our featured video section so head down there now to check it out.

This piece of news right here serves as a huge shout-out to all you submarine fans out there, and although that may be somewhat of a joke, I can guarantee there are a lot of people reading this who are well and truly submarine fanatics and to them I say “Sub…away?”, ok I don’t know any submarine lingo.

During today’s Nintendo Direct presentation it was revealed that the sequel to the game “Steel Diver” is now available for download through the Nintendo 3DS eShop. As mentioned; the game has already been released and can be purchased through the Nintendo eShop, if you’re not too sure whether or not you wish to buy the game there is a free version that works somewhat as a demo for the title.

Yoshi Gets ‘Egg-otic’ With New Trailer

yoshis-new-island-screenshot-01

New Yoshi’s Island was one of the most discussed titles today in Nintendo’s newest Nintendo Direct, with Satoru Iwata discussing a number of new features within the game. Like normal in the Yoshi’s Island games, Yoshi’s job is to protect Baby Mario from the evil kamek’s tasked with his capture, but this time he has a whole new arsenal of moves to do so. One of these new moves involve Yoshi throwing a giant egg named a mega egg-dozer, which nearly fills the screen and can destroys pipes, blocks and more. By eating a giant metal enemy such as a metal shy guy, Yoshi can also produce a metal egg-dozer that rolls across the ground, clearing the path in front of you. This mega-egg also allows you to go underwater where you can’t normally go.

Another new feature discussed was transformations. The Nintendo Direct showcased a rock breaking jackhammer and sea exploring submarine transformation, both of which can be controlled with the 3DS’s unique gyroscope functionality. A helicopter transformation is also known of. There were also two other special powerups mentioned, one is a special star that turns Yoshi into Super Yoshi and allows him to run so fast he can scale walls and dash forward through the air like Superman. The other was the flutter wings,  that allow Yoshi to grow a set of wings enabling him to fly, which is designed to help more inexperienced players get through the stages. Fans of the series will be happy to know smiling flowers, red coins and stars are still hidden within each stage.
