You can check out the trailer below, and let us know your thoughts in the comments. Sadly, Bayonetta 2 doesn’t have a confirmed release date yet other than “2014.” It is looking likely that it will come out in the later parts of the year, so you have ample time to prepare your body for its awesomeness. New Pokemon game Announced: Pokemon Battle Trozei

Straight from Nintendo Direct, us here at Capsule Computers are bringing you some great news for Pokemon fans and puzzle fans alike with the announcement of a brand-new Pokemon title for the Nintendo 3DS. The game is called “Pokemon Battle Trozei” but that is only for North America, European players will be getting a game called “Pokemon Link: Battle”, it will be the exact same game so don’t worry because it is only the name that gets a change.

If you’re a fan of Pokemon and have been so for years you may be aware of a game called “Pokemon Trozei” which was released on the original Nintendo DS back in 2006, well “Pokemon Battle Trozei” just so happens to be a sequel to that game but, considering it’s a puzzle game, don’t stress that you haven’t played the first one before this.

“Pokemon Battle Trozei/Link: Battle” has players connect three or more of the same Pokemon symbol to clear levels, gain points and actually attack enemy Pokemon. It uses much of the same mechanics as the first game though with small, enhanced additions. The game has been confirmed to have 4 player co-op, though we don’t know exactly how that will be executed, and will feature every single Pokemon up until this point in time.

It is a puzzle/adventure game that is packed full of all the things Pokemon fans love and if it is anything like its predecessor you can imagine that it will be a pretty rocking game. It will be released on the Nintendo eShop on the 12th of March in Japan for 762 yen, the 13th of March in Europe and the 20th of March in North America (no prices have been released for NA or EUR) so start gearing up for next month. The video from Nintendo Direct is just below, it’s a trailer for the game and will explain everything you need to know so go and check it out.

Little Mac Punches Into Super Smash Bros.

smash-bros-little-mac-screenshot-01

Time to get excited! As part of this morning’s Nintendo Direct Presentation, the latest (and dare I say greatest) new fighter join the fray in the upcoming Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS. Standing alongside series veterans, Little Mac, star of the Punch Out series of games (you know, that really hard NES game where you had to beat Mike Tyson) has spent the last few years deep in training just for this moment.

Little Mac uses his skill, strength and diminutive size to his advantage, laying into enemies with lightning fast jabs and powerful uppercuts. He can power up his moves for ultimate devastation. Nintendo have put up a cool little intro trailer which you can check out below, and let us know your thoughts on the latest inclusion to the Smash Bros Lineup. As always make sure you stay tuned to Capsule Computers for all the Super Smash Bros news as it becomes available.

New Mario Kart 8 Trailer & Roster Update

mario-kart-8-screenshot-02

As part of today’s Nintendo Direct Presentation, Nintendo gave us another glimpse into the upcoming Mario Kart 8 for Wii U. A new trailer was released that announced further SEVEN characters for the game, as well as a concrete release date. Mario Kart 8 will be available May 30th.

Actions speak louder than words, so check out the trailer below:

So the Koopalings have all been added to the game’s roster. I personally am a little worried that their inclusion means less space for some of the returning favourites, but only time will tell. What are your thoughts on the Koopalings and the fact that they will be driving around this May? Let us know in the comments below and make sure you check out our hands-on impressions of Mario Kart 8. As always, stay tuned to Capsule Computers for all the Mario Kart news as it becomes available.

Dive Into SQUIDS Odyssey RPG on Wii U and Nintendo 3DS This Spring

Dive Into SQUIDS Odyssey RPG on Wii U and Nintendo 3DS This Spring

The Game Bakers’ underwater heroes sling onto new platforms in enhanced release with brand new “Wakame” campaign and other bonus content

MONTPELIER, France – February 13, 2014 – Have a hankering for fresh squid? Skip the sushi bar and pay a visit to the Nintendo eShop instead when SQUIDS Odyssey arrives on Wii U™ and Nintendo 3DS™ this spring. In this fanciful role-playing game from The Game Bakers, an insidious black ooze is seeping into the Squids’ lush underwater kingdom, turning ordinary crabs and shrimp into dangerous monsters. For the first time on consoles, join a brave shoal of Squid heroes on their quest to protect their homeland.

In this tactical RPG, the heroes’ squishy bodies become their best weapons: simply stretch a Squid’s tentacles, then let go to fling it across the battlefield. Choose among 15 Squids in four classes, each with unique abilities and attacks, to build the perfect party. Then lead your team into turn-based battles against corrupted crustaceans using the party’s strengths, the environment, and enemies’ weaknesses to devise strategic attacks. The game’s captivating adventure storyline and 90+ missions promise at least 15 hours of gameplay, while 65+ stat-boosting helmets provide numerous ways to customize.

As the ultimate SQUIDS compilation, SQUIDS Odyssey includes two campaigns previously released on PC and mobile devices with tons of improvement and tweaks, along with a brand new campaign in the Japanese kingdom of Wakame. SQUIDS Odyssey also includes a new Squid hero named Oktoku and four exclusive themed helmets. The controls have been completely reimagined for the Wii U console: players can use the Left Stick to aim and shoot, go hands-on with the Wii U GamePad touch screen, or even play exclusively on the GamePad. The Nintendo 3DS version features a choice between the +Control Pad or the Nintendo 3DS stylus, plus a gorgeous layered 3D effect that shows off the Squids’ underwater utopia like never before.

“We originally conceived SQUIDS with classic Nintendo games in mind. It’s an RPG with a colorful world, a fun story, and simple controls, but lots of gameplay depth like in the Zelda games,” says Emeric Thoa, The Game Bakers’ creative director. “We’re thrilled that Nintendo has supported our dream of bringing our Squids to their hardware and can’t wait for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS players to dive in with these brave heroes.”

SQUIDS has become a globally recognized brand with more than two million game downloads to date. A digital comic book series is underway from APE Entertainment and a children’s television series is in early production. Learn more about SQUIDS on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/SquidsTheGame

‘YOU DON’T KNOW JACK®’ STUDIO HITS THE TEE WITH ‘WORD PUTTZ™’, A WORD GAME WITH BALLS

‘YOU DON’T KNOW JACK®’ STUDIO HITS THE TEE WITH ‘WORD PUTTZ™’, A WORD GAME WITH BALLS

New F2P iOS and Android Game Is Jackbox Games’ First Word Game

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS – February 13, 2014 – Independent developer Jackbox Games today announced the official launch of Word Puttz™, a F2P mobile game for iOS and Android that takes the word game somewhere it has never gone before: the mini-golf course.

“Word Puttz is our own twisted spin on the genre,” said Mike Bilder, GM, Jackbox Games. “After some hard work in the studio, we’re confident that Word Puttz will be the only octopus-hosted, wordtile/mini-golf mashup you’ll ever play.”

In Word Puttz, players use letters from their tray to build cross words that score points based on the combined letter value, just as in other word games. Sounds pretty simple, right? But, the Octoputtz, a spelling-obsessed octopus and mini-golf course owner, loaded each course with obstacles, challenges and bizarre surprises preventing the player from sinking that crucial putt.

Players progress through the holes of various courses that offer different layouts, missions and obstacles with increasing degrees of difficulty. The game is entirely F2P and players earn stars that enable them to continually unlock additional content. A variety of boosts are available for in-app purchase, as is an upgrade that removes ads and provides a stockpile of boosts.

Word Puttz will launch with four courses, including more than 70 levels, and additional courses will be added in the future. Facebook Connect integration allows players to compete with friends on the leaderboard and sharing of boosts and lives is fully integrated into the app.

This new game is the latest innovation from the Chicago studio that has evolved from developing the original YOU DON’T KNOW JACK for PC, which sold more than five million total units, to the SPIKE TV 2012 Social Game of the Year (YOU DON’T KNOW JACK for Facebook), to last year’s release of Lie Swatter™, Clone Booth™ and YOU DON’T KNOW JACK Party.

PlayStation Brand is Australia’s Valentine

playstation-4-console

Michael-Ephraim-Photo-01It’s the most romantic day of the year, ‘Valentine’s Day’, and Sony have just revealed the depth of Australia’s love for the PlayStation brand with new data gathered from NPD Group Australia.

The data shows that, for the third year in a row, the PlayStation brand led the market in the overall interactive entertainment category, and the PlayStation 3 was once again the number one selling home console.

For the cherry on top, since re-stocking, the PlayStation 4 took top spot for next-generation console sales last month (cumulative unit sales from November launch up to week ending the 2nd of February, 2014).

Michael Ephraim, Managing Director, Sony Computer Entertainment Australia, reflected on the listed hat-trick of milestones;

It has been an enormous 12 months for PlayStation in Australia. These results reflect not only the passion Australians have for the PlayStation brand overall, but also the strength of the individual platforms we have. For PS3 to perform so well, nearly seven years after its launch, is testament to the features, entertainment services and quality gaming titles delivered throughout its lifecycle and in 2013. […] The arrival of PS4 at the end of 2013 has further strengthened the love affair Australian gamers have with PlayStation.  PS4 has been an astronomic success in Australia; a story that is replicated around the globe. As the world’s most powerful home console, PS4 truly represents the next generation in gaming and will help keep the PlayStation brand at the pinnacle for a long time to come.
