“Puzzle & Dragons” Collaborates With “Rebuild Of Evangelion”

Evangelion-You-Are-Not-Alone-02

The mobile game “Puzzle & Dragons” is a game that would be known by many but it is a game that I believe would also not be known to many people, such a contradictory statement is not often stated but it is one that I truly believe makes a great deal of sense.

“Puzzle & Dragons” – a game developed and published by GungHo Online Entertainment – is, as the title describes, a puzzle game that has players complete different “Bejeweled-esqu” tasks like lining up three or more of the same symbol in a row to clear a level and damage an enemy like what we saw a few years ago with the Pokemon spin-off title “Pokemon Trozei”.

It seems as though “Puzzle & Dragons” obtained its popularity throughout Japan by collaborating with a whole bunch of different companies, franchises and series’ like “HunterXHunter” and “Hello kitty”. It’s popularity has spread over to the West but I do not believe it has quite the level of fame as it does over in Japan, thus my initial comment.

It seems as though GungHo Online have decided that their next collaboration project will be with the extremely popular anime series turned anime movie series “Rebuild Of Evangelion“, a mix that has placed “Puzzle & Dragons” firmly on my radar. Dungeons, characters, enemies, bosses, all these different aspects of the game will be re-themed to fit into the universe of “Neon Genesis Evangelion”, more specifically the new “Rebuild” movies.

The exciting thing about this event is that it will also be launching in North America, this time Japan wont be the only ones getting a fantastically-themed update. A few images have been released regarding the update of the game, below you can see the main characters of the “Rebuild” movies in “chibi” form, the way they will be represented in-game. Head down below to check the images out, I hope you enjoy them because they will be all you have until more images are released or the update gets released which should be hitting mobile devices in early March (February 24th for Japan).

StarCrawlers Nears Kickstarter Goal after First Week

It seems that Juggernaut Games has struck a cord with gamers with their Kickstarter title, StarCrawlers. What has gotten players so excited about it? Well, simply that it’s a old school style dungeon crawler, but with a sci-fi twist. Players will explore through spaceship environments or corporate settings, as they build a team of hackers, cyber ninjas, soldiers, or others.

StarCrawlers will feature randomly generated loot that can also be upgraded, which can be used with the the customizable characters. Players have been so interested in the game that after the first week of its Kickstarter, StarCrawlers is already almost funded. In addition, it passed Steam Greenlight after only 9 days.

Those wanting to help get that final push to finish StarCrawlers‘ Kickstarter off can check out their page. If it is able to reach full funding players can look forward to playing the RPG on PC, Mac, or Linux.

Listen to the Hollow Lullaby of Dark Souls II

Namco Bandai AU have shared a new trailer for the upcoming Dark Souls II, entitled “Hollow Lullaby”. Less a lullaby, and more a call to action, the trailer features narration that aims to inspire gamers to pick up the challenging title with oddly (and aptly dark) motivational phrasing. “This isn’t about death; this is about what you learn from death.”

You can check out the trailer for yourself embedded at the bottom of this article. We recently had editors in both the U.S. and Australia go hands-on with the title; you can read those previews here and here respectively (the second goes more in-depth, covering the first 5 hours). Dark Souls II will launch in Australia and New Zealand on March 13, 2014 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, with a PC edition to follow shortly. Pre-order the game here and stay tuned to Capsule Computers for all future Dark Souls II news.

Now onto the news!

The second DLC titled “Genroku Legends – A Cause To Daikon For” follows the tragic tale of the widowed farmer Gonbe. The land is in poverty; villages are begining to crumble, their villagers are beginning to starve and the tax put upon all residents is beginning to push the entire populace to the limit. It’s all thanks to a greedy lord, a man named Governor Hatono and it seems like the seemingly simple farmer has had enough of his tyrannical rule. Gonbe (alongside the ghostly apparition that is his wife) joins a group of rebels, slowly rises to the top and leads them to victory against Governor Hatono for the sake of the land and its people! So much has been added with this DLC; gameplay mechanics, bosses, enemies, weapons, this DLC has it all!

Hoes, Bamboo Sticks, and a Ghost! – With hoe in hand and a host of other farming tools-turned-weapons, Gonbe can attack near or far! He can even call on his farming buddies to help out in a pinch, or have his ghostly wife “lift” him out of difficult situations.
New Bosses and Characters – “A Cause to Daikon For” has a host of new bosses and enemies that Gonbe will come across. He’ll need all his strength and cunning to fend off Governor Hatono’s forces.

Challenges Galore! – Take Gonbe into Momohime and Kisuke’s world to battle bosses like the Dragon God! Will Gonbe and his wife stand a chance?

With so much great stuff being added to an already brilliant action title, what exactly do you have to loose by grabbing yourself this brand-new DLC? The DLC will be available on the PlayStation Vita through the PlayStation Network on the 25th of February for North America and the 26th of February for Europe. The second Muramasa Rebirth DLC “Genroku Legends – A Cause To Daikon For” is about to be released and if it’s anything like the game itself or the DLC that came before it you can be damn sure that it is going to be an excellent addition to the series and a DLC that you’ll enjoy through and through. Lay down your katanas and pick yourselves up some farming tools for this tale of triumph set to be released real soon!

JUGGERNAUT GAMES’ STARCRAWLERS NEARS KICKSTARTER GOAL; ONE WEEK INTO CAMPAIGN, COMMUNITY SHOWS STRONG SUPPORT

JUGGERNAUT GAMES’ STARCRAWLERS NEARS KICKSTARTER GOAL; ONE WEEK INTO CAMPAIGN, COMMUNITY SHOWS STRONG SUPPORT

Lead a crew of freelance robotic adventurers and navigate corporate intrigue on the fringes of space in a classic sci-fi themed dungeon crawl

SAN DIEGO, Feb. 19, 2014 – Juggernaut Games, an independent games publisher, is happy to announce the company is more than half-way to meeting its Kickstarter Campaign goal to fund the development of its first-person, dungeon-crawling RPG StarCrawlers for PC, Mac and Linux. A twist on the classic dungeon-crawler, StarCrawlers has a sci-fi theme and is set in dynamic and interactive abandoned spaceship environments and futuristic corporate facilities. Players must make tactical decisions to keep their team alive while unraveling corporate conspiracies.

The first game under development by Juggernaut, StarCrawlers has also been selected to advance through Steam Greenlight based on the strong community interest shown in only nine days. Well-known composer Ben Prunty has signed on to provide the atmospheric soundtrack.

“Juggernaut is so thrilled and thankful for the amazing support StarCrawlers is receiving from the Kickstarter community,” said Asa Enochs, Game Designer, Juggernaut Games. “We are eager to meet our funding goal and encourage everyone to check out our game on Kickstarter. We have been blown-away by the enthusiasm of our community, and we can’t wait to implement their ideas into the game to make it even better.”

In StarCrawlers, players run a crew of talented “fixers” such as hackers, cyber ninjas, soldiers, and more, taking shady jobs on the fringes of space.  Whatever their particular skillset – hacking, smuggling or advanced ass-kicking – StarCrawlers are individuals who specialize in taking jobs others won’t.

Juggernaut has designed an interactive and dynamic environment that changes based on how players explore, fight foes, and resolve encounters. Teams venture into procedurally-generated sci-fi worlds full of lethal enemies, unexpected events, and deadly traps. As play progresses through the technologic dungeons, players face tougher and tougher enemies and are tested against elite bosses, requiring strategic decisions about team building, combat specialization and gear.

Features:

  • An atmospheric soundtrack by composer Ben Prunty
  • Classic first person dungeon crawling exploration
  • Procedurally-generated environments with random encounters, traps and enemies
  • Deep character customization with abilities that can be modeled and changed
  • Randomly generated and upgradeable loot
  • PC, Mac, and Linux support

J-Stars Victory Vs. – Third Commercial Released

J-Stars-Victory-Vs-Title-Image-01

As well as the abundance of trailers that Namco Bandai releases online, the company also posts short commercials for their upcoming shonen brawler “J-Stars Victory Vs” and even though these videos are quite short I can imagine people still love seeing them because I know I do! The latest video to be posted is actually the third commercial for the game and it centres around three shonen favourites; Goku from “Dragon Ball Z”, Gon Freecss from “HunterXHunter” and Seiya the titular character from “Saint Seiya”.

Despite the video only going for a short 15 seconds, it does get its chance to show us the brilliant special “ken” movies of these three characters as well as a sneaky appearance by Bobobo-bo at the very end. Goku’s “King Kai Fist”, Gon’s “Jajan Fist” and Seiya’s “Pegasus Meteor Fist” are all shown but don’t just take my word for it, head down to the featured video section below and check out the video. Any fan of Shonen Jump would!

Keep your eyes on the site for any and all new information as it is released and remember that “J-Stars Victory Vs” is set to hit Japan on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita on the 19th of March this year.

J-Stars Victory Vs – Ace, Killua, Momotaro and Hiei Announced As Playable Characters

Sugoi! More news from the world of “J-Stars Victory Vs.” and it’s all thanks to Namco Bandai who revealed, through Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, the next four playable characters in the upcoming shonen brawler. Ace from “One Piece”, Killua from “HunterXHunter”, Hiei from “Yu Yu Hakusho” and Momotaro from “Sakigake!! Otoko Juku” are the four newest characters to have been added to the lineup.

Now we’ve already seen the addition of characters from “One Piece”, HunterXHunter” and “Yu Yu Hakusho” but, up until just now, no character from the classic bancho manga “Sakigake!! Otoko Juku” had been part of the roster. Thankfully the addition of “Momotaro” alongside the support character “Heihachi Edajima” has changed that and one more classic manga has been added into the hot pot that is “J-Stars Victory Vs”.

It’s so great to see that Namco Bandai and Shonen Jump have not slowed down on the information release for this game because it brings a smile to our faces every single week when we see that more great stuff has been added to this already fantastic game. Keep your eyes on the site for any and all new information as it is released and remember that “J-Stars Victory Vs” is set for a release in Japan on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita on the 19th of March this year.
