English Grisaia Trilogy Kickstarter launched by Sekai Project

the-fruit-of-grisaia-logo

A couple of months ago Sekai Project announced that they would be launching a Kickstarter project to bring all three games in Frongwing’s Grisaia Trilogy over to English speaking audiences and today that Kickstarter launched. Sekai Project is asking for $160,000 in funding and they will need to meet that goal by February 1st, though considering they have already hit $112K at the time of this writing, they are well on their way to meeting that goal.

Some of the basic rewards for the Kickstarter feature $30 for a digital copy of The Fruit of Grisaia, the most familiar game in the series, $40 for a physical copy of The Fruit of Grisaia, and $80 for digital copies of all three games, The Fruit of Grisaia, The Labyrinth of Grisaia, and The Eden of Grisaia. If you want a complete box set of the whole trilogy, you will need to dish out $120 and net yourself a physical copy of all three PC games.

Those looking to back the Kickstarter can do so here and on that page you will not only find more details about the project, such as the higher reward tiers that feature things such as poster sets, tapestries, bedsheets, and even double-sided hug pillow covers at various levels.

If the company manages to make it past their initial funding goal, they have revealed the following stretch goals:

  • $200,000 – Idol Magical Girl Chiruchiru ☆ Michiru, a spin-off game to the Grisaia series, will be licensed and localized. Like the other three games, this will be made available in both digital download and physical format.
  • $240,000 – Grisaia Ports! The series will be ported to different platforms. Details on which platforms will be supported are still forthcoming, so stay tuned for more updates!

It is worth noting that this Kickstarter is only for the All-Ages version of the game though Sekai Project did state the following:

Shadow of Mordor adds new DLC “Lord of the Hunt”

shadow-of-mordor-logo-01

Monolith Productions and Warner Bros. Interactive have released a new DLC expansion for Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor. This new expansion brings further story content to the game, as well as new monsters and missions. The DLC can be found on digital distribution services for $9.99 (USD).

Monolith has titled this DLC Lord of the Hunt, and it the content brought to the fore is definitely related. Players have been given more beast hunting missions related to Torvin the Dwarf Hunter, which I think is a great thing to build off of. The chemistry between Talion and Torvin was one of the more enjoyable parts of the story to me. They also claim to be adding more lore, which in my opinion as a fan of Lord of the Rings, is never a bad thing.

Additionally, new enemy monster types have been added to the game, as well as new Orcs called Beastmaster Warchiefs. These new Warchiefs will be able to ride monsters and engage players in mounted combat. This new type of combat is exciting to see, and looks to add more challenging fights to the game. Check out the full rundown of features in this DLC below.

·New Story & Lore – Discover more tales from Torvin, the Dwarven Hunter, as you work together to tame the beasts of Mordor and fight Sauron’s minions.

·New Nemeses – Face off against the Beastmaster Warchiefs, powerful new Uruks who have the ability to ride monsters and engage in perilous mounted combat.

·New Monsters – Ride into battle on the Wretched Graug to vomit toxin at your foes, stalk your enemies on the predatory Caragath and attack from the shadows or raise an all-consuming Ghul Horde.

·New Missions & Challenges – New Beast Hunting challenges and collectibles open up new trophies and achievements.

·New Epic Runes – Make your Mount unstoppable with five new epic Runes that make you the ultimate hunter.

·Test of the Wild – Test your skills against the Beastmasters and mount your trophies on the leaderboard.

·New Character Skin – Lord of the Hunt skin transforms Talion into the ultimate Beastmaster.

The addition of new gameplay features to Shadow of Mordor is exciting, though it’s unfortunate that it was added now, after most players have already defeated the game. The new leaderboards and missions do give a good reason to return to the game, however, it does remain a pricey DLC. The major flaw is that unfortunately this new content is not available in the base game, and is only available in a separate Lord of the Hunt mode. Check out the video trailer below.

NCSoft Announces Major Wildstar Update

Carbine Studios has released a an announcement for WildStar‘s first major update next year. The update builds off of player feedback, and response, which bodes well for the longevity of the game. Many of the updates are in direct response to improving accessibility for the MMO. Other improvements are related to streamlining player experiences in-game. Check out the list of new and improved features below.

  • Players will now have access to a low-level training dungeon called Protogames Academy, teaching them the team mechanics that will lead to greater success in group content.
  • We’re releasing a brand new level-six Shiphand Mission called They Came From Fragment Zero! which takes place in the unexplored reaches of the Halon Ring!
  • There are now Veteran versions of all Shiphand Missions, giving max-level solo and group players additional content once they reach level cap.
  • We have enhanced the LFG tool, which now includes access to all Shiphand Missions – allowing players to queue up whether they want to play solo or with a group.
  • A new random queue bonus has been added to the group finder that will yield valuable currency and experience along with helping queue times.
  • We added tons of new player customization options – including costumes, as well as the ability to alter your avatar’s physical appearance after character creation!
  • We made significant adjustments to the quest experience in our early zones, focusing on things like quest flow, objective counts, and group accessibility.
  • We’ve improved the Dungeon Medal system, providing greater insight into how you are progressing through a dungeon’s objectives, and rewarding you every step of the way.
  • We’ve added a new currency type called Glory which is earned by completing dungeons and raids. Glory can be exchanged for high-quality gear in the capital cities.
  • A new dungeon, called Ultimate Protogames, which offers our max-level players exciting new challenges from the galaxy’s most infamous (and profit-minded!) corporation!
  • We are adjusting the group size requirement for Datascape from 40 to 20 players, allowing more players to experience this awesome raid!

This large addition to the game offers new players an improved experience in starting out, as well as increasing the depth of the MMO. It is often the case that once players reach a level cap, the game’s playerbase decreases. However, the new Shiphand mission, dungeon, and mission difficulty bring in new content to keep players interested. The improvements in queuing and finding groups will only offer improvement, much like World of Warcraft did when Blizzard added better group-finding tools.

All in all, it looks like a a great addition to the game, adding content, balance, and a better experience all in one. The commitment that Carbine Studios and NCSoft are showing bodes well for the future of WildStar.

Super 17, God Goku and All New Animation Confirmed for Xenoverse

dragon-ball-xenoverse-scan-02

Thank you V-Jump Magazine for another great scan this time confirming Dragon Ball GT fan favourite Super Android 17 and Super Saiyan God Goku as playable characters in the upcoming game Dragon Ball Xenoverse. Super 17 will sport his signature ultimate attack, Shocking Death Ball and hopefully that awesome Gatling Gun attack he has had in past games such as Infinite World. The other huge news for the scan was that an exclusive anime is being created to tell the story of Xenoverse but it is not clear if this is an intro like past games have had or a decent length feature.

The scan also reiterates on the whole time traveling aspect of the story and how Towa and Mira (the new villains of this game) will take control of past villains, amplifying their power and their evilness. Frieza, Cell and Kid Buu are all confirmed to be receiving this treatment which gives them a nice bleeding eyes effect. The translation reads that this powered up Frieza is much stronger than the original and that Goku will need to rest, where is most likely where your custom character interferes to provide Goku some time.

Keep checking back with Capsule Computers over the weekend as more Dragon Ball Xenoverse news will be revealed as Jump Festa takes place in Japan. The full game is slated to be playable there and a new trailer is also being released. Dragon Ball Xenoverse releases February 12th in Europe and Australia, the 5th in Japan and the 17th in America for the PS3, Xbox 360, PS4, Xbox One and PC through Steam. Click the full scan below to check it out in full size. We would like to acknowledge ShonenGameZ for providing the scan.

The Diamond Heist & Clover Character pack DLC released today for Payday 2

payday-2-promo-shot-01

Starbreeze Software & Overkill Software have announced new content for the popular heist game, Payday 2. The 13th and 14th DLC packs were released today, as well as new editions of the game. The new editions of the heist FPS will gather various different DLC’s together for a discounted price, in order to bring in new players.

The new heist is simply called “The Diamond Heist.” As it says, players get to plan and steal what is supposed to be the most famous diamond in the world from a museum. It’s a classic heist, though I wince at the idea of a famous museum being shot up by jewel thieves when the police inevitably show up. The 13th DLC costs $6.99 (USD) and also comes with four new masks, and more!

Meanwhile, the 14th DLC is called the Clover Character pack, and this introduces the first female member of the criminal gang. Clover herself brings new personalized weapons to the game, as well as her own mask and a new perk deck. This DLC will run players $4.99 (USD).

Payday 2‘s new DLC is available now on Steam here.

Hanabee Licenses ‘Little Busters! Refrain’

Hanabee Entertainment has just announced that they have licensed Little Busters! Refrain for a DVD and Blu-ray release. Both editions will contain two discs, will have a suggested retail price of $59.99 AUD and will be released on February 4, 2015. Bonus features are limited to the textless opening and ending animation. This release does not contain the 8 Little Busters! EX OVA episodes that are featured on the Japanese home video releases of this season. The first season of the show was released by Hanabee in two parts earlier this year. This release will contain dual language options. Hanabee describes this season as follows:

What has stopped must start moving…

On the back of their first baseball game, the Little Busters team is closer than ever. But amongst the celebration, Riki can’t help but notice a strong sense of déjà vu over everything that has happened. As the oddities of the world continue to unfold, the answers to Riki’s questions appear to lie in the hands of a cat.

Can Riki and Rin muster enough courage to fulfill the mission given to them and confront the truth of their reality that has been in front of them all along?
