‘Naruto’ Anime Now Partially Available on AnimeLab

Madman has put a large sample of the popular Naruto anime on their AnimeLab streaming service. The first 26 episodes are now available with English subtitles.

The first volume of Masashi Kishimoto’s original manga was first sold in Japan on March 3, 2000, with volume 72, the final volume, being released on February 4, 2015. More than 130 million copies of the manga are in circulation in Japan, and more than 75 million copies of the manga have been sold internationally. Madman has been distributing the manga in Australia since 2008.

Naruto Shippuden, the sequel to the Naruto anime, is still airing in Japan and much of it is also available on DVD in Australia thanks to Madman.

For those who have not seen Naruto before and are interested in checking out the show before making the decision of whether or not to buy the series on DVD, the first 26 episodes can be found here and viewed by people with an AnimeLab account. These episodes are available on DVD across collections one and two.

Oscura: Lost Light to Mix Platforming with Tim Burton Later this Month

Australians Chocolate Liberation Front and Surprise Attack Games announced their upcoming platformer Oscura: Lost Light will hit Linux, Mac, and Windows on February 24, 2015.

The lights went out across the Driftlands after our hero Oscura destroyed the Aurora Stone. Oscura must now fix his mistakes and defeat the evil villain Marvo. Oscura will be assisted by four crystals that give him special powers to defeat the shadows.

Oscura: Lost Light features an art style inspired by Tim Burton’s minimalism.

Oscura: Lost Light is the third title in the series. The previous game Oscura: Second Shadow was released on Mac and iOS in June 2014.

 

Dissidia Final Fantasy announced for Japanese arcades

Square Enix took to the stage at the Japan Amusement Expo in Chiba today to reveal that they are working on a brand new arcade game called Dissidia Final Fantasy. The last time we heard of the Dissidia franchise it was back in 2011 when the second title was released for the PSP. Currently only announced for arcades, Dissidia Final Fantasy will feature a three on three battle system which is far different from past versions of the game.

The teaser trailer for the game can be found below and the playable characters revealed so far are Y’Shotla from Final Fantasy XIV, Lightning from Final Fantasy XIII, Cloud Strife from Final Fantasy VII, Terra Branford from Final Fantasy VI, and The Onion Knight from Final Fantasy II.

Gunner class introduced in latest Etrian Mystery Dungeon trailer

In what has become a weekly event, Atlus USA has released another new trailer for Etrian Mystery Dungeon and this time around it focuses on introducing the Gunner class, a fighter that specializes in ranged combat and can not only damage enemies from afar using their firearms but also support allies with various skills.

The Gunner can prevent enemies from moving or attacking by targeting specific limbs of enemies and you can see them in action in the trailer below. As for the game itself, Etrian Mystery Dungeon is set to be released in North America on April 7th.

Story of Seasons release date set for late March

Fans of the original “Bouko Monogatari” franchise that they have been playing since the late ’90s will be happy to hear that XSEED Games has now announced the release date for the next entry in the franchise. Story of Seasons will now be released on March 31st in North America and those who pre-order the $39.99 game through select retailers will be given an “Angora” rabbit pocket plushie as a bonus.

Despite the different name, Story of Seasons will take the well-loved traditions of past games and include a number of new seeds, pets, and new ways to create your unique farm. The major addition is the ability to trade with other countries to increase plant variety as well as help the town you live in prosper. To commemorate the release date announcement, XSEED has released a new set of English screenshots as well as a new English trailer for Story of Seasons, both of which can be found below.

Lord of Magna: Maiden Heaven officially announced for North American release

After a domain registration found last month and an ESRB rating last week, XSEED Games has chosen to officially announce that they are indeed releasing Forbidden Magna in the West and they will be doing so under the name Lord of Magna: Maiden Heaven. They already have released a number of English screenshots for Lord of Magna: Maiden Heaven as well as the box art for the game as they are currently aiming for a North American release sometime this spring.

Lord of Magna: Maiden Heaven tells the story of Luchs, a man who is saved by a mysterious faerie after being attacked by strange enemies after finding a bracelet called “Lachryma”. The problem is, this faerie is suffering from memory loss and to thank her, Luchs decides to help her recover her memories and on the way he meets numerous other faeries just like her.

Eight minute gameplay video released for Senran Kagura: Estival Versus

With Senran Kagura: Estival Versus set to be released in Japan for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in about a month and a half, Famitsu has released a new eight minute long gameplay video for the title. In the video, found below, not only are a number of the lead characters for each school shown fighting against enemies but also a few of the recently detailed mechanics are also demonstrated near the end.

Also worth noting are a new set of screenshots focusing on the girls from Gessen Girls’ Academy, Yumi, Minori, Shiki, Murakumo, and Yozakura, have been released and can be found below.

Multiverse Studio partners with Koei Tecmo; announces Ryu Hayabusa statue

Koei Tecmo America and Multiverse Studio Inc. have announced that they have entered into an agreement to create collectible products based on the Ninja Gaiden video game series and their very first statue will be none other than the main character of the franchise, Ryu Hayabusa. The 1/6th scale Ninja Gaiden Ryu Hayabusa Resin Statue will be released on June 2015 though at the moment no price has been announced for the figure.

When it is released, the statue will be thirteen inches tall from head to base and incorporate LED lights that will add “effects and theatrical ambiance” and those can be powered by either an AC cord or a USB cord. Toukiden: Kiwami trailers show off new characters, mitama, and weapons

Koei Tecmo has recently released a new set of screenshots, character models, and artwork of new mitama that will be available when Toukiden: Kiwami is released for the PlayStation 4 and PS Vita in North America on March 31st and in Europe on March 27th.

For those unaware, Toukiden: Kiwami will feature a new story that takes place three months after the events at the end of the original Toukiden and feature a deeper introduction into the heiarchy of the Slayer organization as players are introduced to the elite slayer unit ‘The Hundred Demon Corps’ made up of their Captain Soma, a young slayer named Reki with who is extremely skilled with a naginata, and Horo, a girl who wields an oversized rifle but has very few memories of her past.

The Escapists Now Available on Xbox One and PC

The Escapists challenges players to become the ultimate prison inmate, one that is not afraid to take risks to pull off a perfect ‘prison break’ across 6 unreleased prisons. The key to escaping requires careful time management, working around the guards strict prison schedule and cell shakedowns. Players are tasked to craft weapons, such as the cutter, shovel or rope made of sheets and weapons as “Sock Mace,” the “Comb Blade, for their escape plan.
