Next Week from Discotek: ‘5 Centimeters Per Second’ and a ‘Lupin the Third’ OVA on DVD

Discotek Media has two anime titles scheduled for release on June 2, 2015.

The first one is the release of the 1992 TV special Lupin the Third: From Siberia with Love. It will be available on DVD with Japanese audio and English subtitles. This special is also known as From Russia with Love and Bank of Liberty.

The second one is the release of Makoto Shinkai’s 2007 film 5 Centimeters Per Second. It will be released on DVD with English audio, Japanese audio and English subtitles. ADV Films produced an English dub for their release of the film in 2008. Less than a year later, Bang Zoom! Entertainment produced a new English dub of the film. The Bang Zoom! dub is presumably the dub that will be featured on Discotek’s DVD release. Discotek stated that they do not currently have the license to release the film on Blu-ray.

Both of these sets are still available for pre-order ahead of their release next week.

New Yu-Gi-Oh! Game Rated for PS4 and Xbox One

yu-gi-oh-promo

A new Yu-Gi-Oh! game was made known about today thanks to the USK rating board. The new game is called Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of The Duelist and is being published by Konami who has been in all sorts of trouble lately with the Silent Hills and Hideo Kojima scandal. The game was rated for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Based off the name I would guess this game will revolve around all five Yu-Gi-Oh! seasons that have currently been produced right up to the most recent Arc-V series.

Yu-Gi-Oh! games are typically released on handheld devices like the 3DS and PSP so it’s nice to get a full fledged console game. The last title for the 3DS was Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal Clash! Duel Carnival which released last year to poor reviews thanks to a completely half hearted localisation effort which saw much of the games content cut. Do you still like to break out your spell, trap and monster cards and duel? Let us know your favourite Yu-Gi-Oh! title from games past in the comments below.

Pac-man 256 Bringing Endless Mazes to Android and iOS

pac-man-256-promo-shot-002

Retro gamers will remember the classic 256 glitch in Pac-man. Gamers skilled enough to make it to Map 256 would hit a map that was impossible to beat due to an integer overflow. The 256 glitch is the main villain of the new game Pac-man 256.

Players will play in a nostalgic maze full of Pac-Dots, Power Pellets, and ghosts. The game has some very modern gameplay elements, too. The maze is infinite, but players must escape the 256 Glitch that is consuming the screen. Players will have access to collectible coins and power-ups along the way.

Pac-man 256 will launch on iOS and Android later this year. The game is being developed by Melbourne based developers Hipster Whale and Bandai Namco Studios Vancouver.

Atlus USA has released another new trailer for Lost Dimension and this time around they are introducing the so called “powerhouses” of the S.E.A.L.E.D. team, Mana Kawai and George Jackman. Mana loves everything cute but is more than eager to pummel her foes with her bare hands or throwing debris at enemies who are trying to avoid her beatings.

As for George, he cuts down enemies using a deadly katana that’s damage is amplified through psychometry as he “fights for the glory of freedom and justice!.” You can check out the introduction trailer below and keep an eye out for Lost Dimension when it is released in North America on July 28th and in Europe on August 28th.
