Udon Entertainment made several announcements at their recent panel at San Diego Comic Con 2015. The following list presents a full recap of all of the announcements they made at the event.

This will be the first time that the Rose of Versailles manga will be available in English. The series is also known as Lady Oscar or La Rose de Versailles, and is one of the most well-known shoujo series ever written.

The 2015 Animator Dormitory Project Was Successfully Funded

In two months, the 2015 Animator Dormitory Project raised $15,780 USD. The goal was $15,000 USD.

The project aims to cultivate new animators in Japan. Japanese animators currently earn very little despite working overtime, and the high cost of rent in Tokyo makes life difficult for animators who live in or have moved to Tokyo. The NPO Animator Supporting Organisation opened the first Starting Out Animator’s Dormitory in March 2014.

The 2015 project aimed to raise enough money to build a new facility for 2-3 people to live in. The dormitory provides new animators with an environment where they can focus on their work without worrying about how to make ends meet, and also where they can get support and learn new techniques to help them succeed in their jobs.

Studio 4°C’s ‘Red Ash -Magicicada-‘ Anime to Get an Increased Runtime

The official Kickstarter page of Studio 4°C’s short anime film project Red Ash -Magicicada- revealed that a prologue will be added to the film. The total duration of the short film will now be over 12 minutes instead of just five minutes. There will also be a special ending with a theme song that will run for six minutes.

The Kickstarter has an initial goal of $150,000 (currency not listed). The project must earn this much in pledges by 4:00am CST on August 4, 2015, or else it will not go ahead. If it does meet this minimum goal, a Blu-ray will be produced.

Brave Wave Productions to Release Remastered ‘Street Fighter II’ Arcade Soundtrack

Brave Wave Productions recently revealed their plans to release a remastered version of the official arcade soundtrack of Street Fighter II. They are working with Capcom to release the soundtrack as a part of their Generation Series later this year.

The release will feature newly remastered versions of both the CPS-1 and CPS-2 versions of the original arcade game. The music has been taken directly from the arcade boards and approved by the original composer, Yoko Shimomura. The double album release will feature liner notes by Yoko Shimomura and Matt Leone from Polygon.com. There will also be a limited edition vinyl release, remastered in translucent coloured vinyl with art prints from Capcom’s archive.

Tune Into Twitch on August 1 for the Debut of the PvP Style Deathmatch With 35 Teams Competing for Cash and Prizes

Seattle, WA – July 24, 2015 – Studio Wildcard unveiled today a completely new way to survive the dinosaur-filled landscape of the wildly successful game ARK: Survival Evolved. This “Survival of the Fittest” mode introduces a brand new last man standing, fight-to-the-permadeath contest, designed to create a completely new dynamic in the world of ARK.

Starting at 12 pm PST, Saturday, August 1, 2015, Studio Wildcard’s Kayd Hendricks and Twitch’s Alex “Goldenboy” Mendez will host a live five-hour tournament to debut ‘Survival of the Fittest’ from Twitch headquarters in San Francisco, CA. Thirty-five teams will step into the ARK arena to compete in this PvP ‘Hunger Games’-style deathmatch where the last tribe standing will receive a Grand Prize of $20,000 along with killer gaming gear from Logitech and Gunnar Optiks. During the event, the Twitch audience can vote on Evolution Events – powerful world-altering sequences that will occur every 30 minutes (Freak Weather, Dino Assault, Supply Drop, etc.). Alex and Kayd will deliver play-by-play and color commentary of the action from a roaming spectator point-of-view, with both pre- and post-interviews from fallen warriors as they exit the battle. In this new mode specifically balanced for tournament competition, contestants begin in a neutral staging area where they can communicate pre-game, strategize, or talk trash. After a count-down, they dramatically descend from the sky onto the ARK in a circular formation via beams of light. There is a cache of valuable items in the center – do survivors dash for the goods and fight it out, do they run into the forest and hide, or do they freeze up from the sheer terror of death? A continually shrinking “ring of death” forces contestants ever closer together over time. The game is on!

The most popular open-world Early Access game on Steam, ARK: Survival Evolved brings a new level of depth to the survival genre with a unique blend of emergent multiplayer cooperation and competition. Players awake naked and starving on the beach of a mysterious island among a herd of other confused humans and must explore the vast island of ARK to survive. What is the secret to survival?

Developed by Studio Wildcard, in conjunction with Instinct Games, ARK: Survival Evolved will launch in June 2016 on Xbox One via the ID@Xbox program, PlayStation®4 with Project Morpheus support, and full release on Steam. Luci Christian Joins Sentai Filmworks’ English Dub of ‘Vampire Hunter D’

Sentai Filmworks is gradually revealing the English dub cast of Vampire Hunter D. A week ago, David Wald was revealed to be the voice of the vampire lord Count Magnus Lee. It has just been revealed that prolific voice actor Luci Christian will also have a role in the film. She will be voicing Doris Lang. 15-second previews for David Wald and Luci Christian’s voice-work have been uploaded to Sentai Filmworks’ official YouTube channel, which can be found here.

The DVD and Blu-ray editions of the film are available for pre-order here. It has been digitally remastered from the original materials. The official release date is August 25, 2015.

Sentai Filmworks has just revealed the cast details for their English dub of Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions -Heart Throb-. The full English dub cast list is as follows (character/actor):

The director of the English dubbed version is Kyle Jones. Sentai Filmworks provided a synopsis for the series:

Yuta Togashi thought he had problems dealing with one delusional girlfriend in the person of Rikka Takanashi, but now things are about to go totally insane as his FORMER “one true soul mate” from when he was a chuuni himself returns with a vengeance! So how bad is Satone Shichimiya’s re-entry into Togashi’s chuni-verse likely to be? Let’s just say that she’s so epically off the deep end of the chuni-scale that she prefers to use the name Sophia Ring SP Saturn VII and that she’ll joyfully tear Togashi’s real world to pieces in order to get him back in her imaginary one! Some girls just want to have fun and some want to break down the walls between their boyfriends and themselves. But when a girl’s idea of fun is breaking down the wall between their presumed boyfriend and reality, retreating into a fantasy world might just be Togashi’s best option. Especially since Satone knows where ALL the skeletons from his past are buried. Toss Rikka’s equally delusional friend Sanae into the mix and girl-crazy takes on a whole new meaning in LOVE, CHUNIBYO & OTHER DELUSIONS – HEART THROB!

Sentai Filmworks Licenses ‘DRAMAtical Murder’, ‘La Corda D’Oro: Blue Sky’ and ‘Angelic Layer’

Sentai Filmworks has licensed a few anime series over the past couple of weeks. Here are the details of each of their three latest license acquisitions in order of announcement.

DRAMAtical Murder will be available on DVD and Blu-ray with dual audio and English subtitles on November 24, 2015. The series is directed by Kazuya Miura. Series composition was handled by Kabura Fuchii (Chaika -The Coffin Princess- and Wake Up, Girls!), the music was composed by Yuuki Hayashi (Diabolic Lovers and Haikyu!!) and the animation production was handled by NAZ (Hamatora). Sentai Filmworks provided a synopsis of the series:

Aoba has a part-time job at the junk shop “Mediocrity,” and lives with his grandmother Tae on the island of Midorijima, which is located to the southwest of the Japanese island chain. While hand-to-hand combat turf wars called “Ribstiez” have spread across the island, an online game “Rhyme,” which is set in a virtual world has become quite popular. Aoba spends his time participating in neither, until one day, he is suddenly — and forcibly — dragged into a Rhyme battle…

La Corda D’Oro: Blue Sky will be available on DVD and Blu-ray with Japanese audio and English subtitles on November 10, 2015. The Chief Director of the series was Kojin Ochi, the series composition was handled by Keiichiro Ochi, the character designs were drawn by Maki Fujioka, the music was composed by Koichiro Kameyama and the animation production was handled by TYO (Appleseed and Neo Angelique Abyss). Sentai Filmworks provided a synopsis of the series:

Taking place eight years after Hino Kahoko’s time in the first season of La Corda D’Oro, Blue Sky introduces us to Kanade Kohinata and a new group of musical prodigies as they prepare themselves to shine on the biggest stage and create new memories, friendships and rivalries in what’s sure to be an unforgettable summer.

Finally, Angelic Layer will be available on DVD with dual audio and English subtitles on November 24, 2015. Based on CLAMP‘s best-selling manga, the adaptation was animated by studio Bones (Full Metal Alchemist, RahXephon, Halo Legends and Space Dandy). It was directed by Hiroshi Nishikori (Azumanga Daioh, A Certain Magical Index and Jyo-Oh-Sei). Series composition and scriptwriting were both handled by Ichiro Okouchi (Azumanga Daioh, Code Geass and Negima!). The music was composed by Kouhei Tanaka (One Piece) and the character designs were adapted by Takahiro Komori (Darker Than Black and Scrapped Princess). Sentai Filmworks describes the series as follows:

Misaki Suzuhara discovers the unparalleled excitement of Angelic Layer, a high-tech game in which dolls called Angels are controlled by the thoughts of their operator.  With slapstick support by game guide Ichiro “Icchan” Mihara and his unfortunate assistant Ogata, and the intensive character development and design that CLAMP is famous for, Angelic Layer is a must-have title for any anime fan’s collection.

Spiders and Focus Home Interactive released four new screenshots for their upcoming RPG The Technomancer. The four screenshots reveal new details about the Old Domes, one of the locations on Mars players will explore. The area, also known as the Ancient Temples, is a sacred place for Technomancers. It is also home to dangerous insect-like monsters and and looters.

Gamescom 2015 is starting on August 5th. Spiders will be presenting the game at the show. Gamers can probably look forward to the first videos of the game. With hope, they will be bringing the first gameplay footage to the show to boot.

The Technomancer will launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in 2016.

For those new to the Fallout series, you still have a few months to catch up with the universe before Fallout 4’s launch. Bethesda announced the new Fallout Anthology for Windows will pack Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition, Fallout New Vegas: Ultimate Edition, Fallout Tactics, Fallout 2 and Fallout into a very interesting container. The two Fallout FPS titles will come with all their DLCs, as they are the GOTY editions. Strangely absent from the Anthology is  Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel.

The entire anthology is stored in a miniature nuclear bomb that appears in the series. The mini nuke can be pulled apart to reveal a small slot for the game disks. Additionally, the nuke makes boom noises, though it is not clear how the sound is triggered.
