LONDON, UK September 10, 2015 — Today, Ubisoft released an interview with Jon Van Caneghem, the father of the Might & Magic Heroes saga, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the brand. This industry veteran is sharing his vision of the Heroes saga’s evolution through the past 20 years, as well as his testimonies on Might & Magic Heroes VII and the video game industry evolution. Might & Magic Heroes VII will be available exclusively on Windows® PC on September 29th, 2015.

As part of the 20th Heroes anniversary and to thank the community, some free content will be released post-launch. Thanks to the very advanced modding tools available in Might & Magic Heroes VII, the team has planned to deliver eight unproduced Heroes IV maps. Based on scripts written by Heroes IV’s original writer, Terry Ray, these stories will finally be brought to life with Heroes VII’s engine, and will enlarge the already massive content present in the base game. These modding tools will be available for free in Might & Magic Heroes VII; allowing players to bring life to their own creations. They will also be able to share and submit them to other community members on the Shadow Council platform.

These eight maps are divided into two campaigns: the first one called Unity, will add a total of five maps focused on the Academy faction and will be released end of 2015. The second one, Every Dog Has His Day, will include three maps of the Stronghold faction and will be released early 2016.

San Francisco, CA. – Sept. 10, 2015 – Independent game developer Redacted Studios in partnership with indie publisher Versus Evil today announced that the highly-anticipated sequel Afro Samurai 2: Revenge of Kuma, Volume 1 will be available for digital download on PC and PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system on Tuesday September 22nd, 2015.  The game will also be available for Xbox One via the ID@Xbox self-publishing program shortly thereafter at a date to be announced.

Afro Samurai 2: Revenge of Kuma will be delivered in three distinct volumes, each with its own new story arch, characters and combat styles to master, plus original soundtrack by up-and-coming indie hip-hop artists that have been mentored by music producer and rapper RZA of the legendary Wu-Tang Clan.  A PC and a limited-exclusive console PlayStation®4 bundle of all three volumes will be available day one for $34.99 on PC and 20% off the SRP for PlayStation.   PlayStation Plus members can get the bundle for the best value at 30% off.  Volumes 1, 2 and 3 will be sold separately as they become available for an SRP of $14.99 on all platforms.

The team also released a debut music trailer today, entitled ‘Deadly Identities’ from indie hip-hop artist Visualeyez who along with indie artists Nay Steez and TK created the original soundtrack for the first volume of the game. Continuing this tradition of indie artists working together, Versus Evil also announced contest for up-and-coming hip-hop artists to create their own original Afro Samurai inspired music track.  All submitted tracks which will be considered and the winners track will be included in the official soundtrack for Volume 3. BURLINGAME, Calif. – September 10th, 2015 KOEI TECMO America released today new information and a batch of new assets for Samurai Warriors 4-II, revealing the final group of playable characters  and detailing some of the customization options available to players in this dramatic epic.

Completing the 14 exciting new episodes of the Samurai Warriors saga, the last chapters of Samurai Warriors 4-II revolve around Fealty, Honor, Fate, and War.

The central characters of these thrilling chapters were first introduced as playable in Samurai Warriors 4, apart from the fan-favorite character Gracia, who has been with the franchise since its second installment. Specifically:

  • Takatora Todo, a general who has sworn an oath of fealty to the Azai clan and vows to focus on living instead of recklessly endangering his life.
  • Lady Hayakawa, whose sense of honor and devotion to her family lead her to accept a cruel fate with bravery and a steady hand.
  • Yoshitsugu Otani, whose allegiance to the famed Mitsunari Ishida forces him to face a great enemy.

Both weapons and mounts in Samurai Warriors 4-II have ranks and levels; players can combine similar types of weapons or mounts to upgrade their level and abilities. Combining high rank and high level weapons or mounts with those of the same elemental attribute can result in a “Compatibility Bonus” that allows the weapon or mount to break through the maximum level cap and bestows it new abilities!

These exciting features open up endless possibilities that provide a unique play-style for each of the 14 protagonists of this riveting war drama.

Pokémon, Niantic, and Nintendo Collaborating on New Mobile Pokémon Game Slated for Launch in 2016

TOKYO, JAPAN—September 10, 2015— The Pokémon Company, Niantic, Inc., and Nintendo Co., Ltd. today announced their collaboration on a new project for mobile devices called Pokémon GO. This ground breaking mobile game will encourage fans to search far and wide in the real world to discover Pokémon. Pokémon GO will be available for download at no charge on the App Store and Google Play in 2016.

In the past, the Pokémon video game series has used real world locations like the Hokkaido and Kanto regions of Japan, as well as New York and Paris, as inspiration for its fantasy settings. In Pokémon GO, players will be able to catch, trade, and battle in the real world by utilizing location information.Pokémon GO’s gameplay experience goes beyond what appears on screen as players explore their neighborhoods, communities and the world they live in to discover Pokémon alongside friends and other players. Junichi Masuda, game director of the Pokémon video game series at GAME FREAK inc. will be contributing to the project. His involvement will ensure that the fun of Pokémon makes its way into Pokémon GO, while developing new types of gameplay and thinking of ways to connect this project with the main series of Pokémon video games. The first community platform to learn, master and discuss the strategies and tactics of siege, is now available online. This platform will allow players to better prepare their future matches in Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, the upcoming instalment of the best-selling Rainbow Six franchise, when it releases worldwide on December 1 for PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, Xbox One, the all-in-one games and entertainment system from Microsoft and Windows PC.

 

Being one of the most complex forms of warfare, the siege technique requires years of training for elite teams, in order to handle each situation with the right strategies and tactics. Right Stuf Reveals December Release Date for ‘Mobile Suit Gundam’ Part 2

Right Stuf and Sunrise have revealed the release date for the DVD and Blu-ray release of Mobile Suit Gundam Part 2, which will contain episodes 22-42 of the 1979 anime series. Part 2 will be released in North America on December 1, 2015.

Both sets will feature the 30th Anniversary Staff Interview as an on-disc extra. The episodes will be presented with Japanese Dolby Digital Audio, English Dolby Digital Audio and English subtitles on DVD. They will be featured with Japanese Mono LPCM Audio, English Stereo LCPM Audio and English subtitles on Blu-ray. The English dub was produced by The Ocean Group. The video has been remastered from a transfer from the 35mm prints. Right Stuf describes Part 2 as follows:

The White Base is the target of constant attacks by Zeon, and Amuro and the others have officially become soldiers of the Earth Federation Forces. They return to space to fight in the final campaign, and here Amuro meets the mysterious and beautiful Lalah Sune.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel Limited Edition Announced

XSEED Games has announced that when The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel is released in North America sometime this holiday season there will be a standard version of the game available for purchase as well as a special “Lionheart Edition” that will include a number of bonuses on both the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita versions of the game.

The standard version of the game costs $39.99 while the $49.99 Lionheart Edition includes a copy of the game plus the following bonus content:

  • An art book featuring over 100 pages of art from the game as well as its sequel, The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel II
  • A 1.5” pin displaying the emblem of the country of Erebonia
  • A custom collectible clamshell-type box

To keep things interesting, the aforementioned clamshell-type case will actually be large enough to fit The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel II when it is released in 2016, allowing collectors to keep both games in the same collectible packaging.
