A character that speaks in a Zelda game? The Princess’s Tell-All trailer has been released for The Legend of Zelda: Tri-Force Heroes, showing off a lot of facets to the experience. The game itself looks decent enough, and the trailer shows a lot of gameplay and the general co-op nature of the game.

Its a fun clip and to be honest it seems as if The Legend of Zelda: Tri-Force Heroes will be another fantastic entry within the franchise on the 3DS. Watch the clip below and enjoy the soothing voice of a princess who needs your help as well as comedic stylings of three little Links.

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate Preview

Assassins-Creed-Syndicate-Screenshot-1.0

When it comes to the Assassin’s Creed franchise, the possibilities are endless and each release leaves fans wanting more. With Ubisoft soon be releasing Assassin’s Creed Syndicate this October, there has been plenty of hype over the last few months surrounding the ninth installment of the series.

Over the weekend at EB Games Expo 2015, Assassin’s Creed Syndicate was available to play and provided an opportunity for Assassin’s Creed fans to experience two different ‘black box’ missions under the reigns of siblings, Jacob and Evie Frye. Ubisoft introduced black box missions in Unity, to enable players the freedom to choose how they complete open-world objectives. In Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, acquiring new skills and unlocking areas of the map ties into the missions and if players aren’t successful, they resume at a checkpoint instead of the starting point.

For those who aren’t familiar with the story, the twin assassins are working together to fight against the established order, controlled by the Templars, for justice and survival of the people during London’s Industrial Revolution in 1868. While at the Expo, I spent some time playing as Evie and Jacob Frye and was rather impressed by the different gameplay styles of the two protagonists.

Evie has an exceptional range of stealth mechanics, including her Knife Master and Chameleon ability, that essentially makes the woman invincible. I am not the stealthiest of players and usually prefer the more violent way of getting the job done (admit it, you do too), so when tasked with the objective of killing fewer than 5 royal guards to avoid detection, and reach the target: Lucy Thorne at the Tower of London, I did the exact opposite. If you haven’t seen it already, check out the complete Evie gameplay walkthrough released at Gamescom this year here.

Jacob is more “hands-on” in combat, built to withstand brawls and run havoc across the City of London with his revolvers, kukuri knives, and brass knuckles. I prefer this approach to gameplay and found it more entertaining to spend my time headhunting Templars controlled gangs to form an army. One of the great new features in Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, are the new modes of transport and being able to use vehicles as weapons, especially when it means hijacking horses and carts to crush enemies. In addition, the twin assassins can traverse the roof tops of the city with the handy rope launcher, which can propel them to the highest towers and best vantage points.

Assassins-Creed-Syndicate-Screenshot-3.0

For the first time ever in Assassins Creed, players are able to switch between the two protagonists and take advantage of both Jacob and Evie’s different skill sets. When it comes down to the twin assassins fighting together in the game, the dynamic duo are designed to be the ultimate weapon for putting an end to organised crime in the Victorian Era.

As an avid fan of the Assassin’s Creed franchise, I am both excited and skeptical about Assassin’s Creed Syndicate. With the ninth installment on the hinges of its release, there is reason to question whether or not Ubisoft have overstepped the bounds of Assassin’s Creed Universe and what makes the series so successful. I am interested to see how fans respond to the new title, when it is released worldwide on October 23rd for Playstation 4 and Xbox One, and November 19th for Windows PC.

Halo 5: Guardians Warzone Preview

Halo-5-Guardians-Warzone-Screenshot-1.0

Microsoft Studios and 343 Industries have returned with the biggest Halo game of the franchise to date, Halo 5: Guardians. The highly anticipated title is due to be released this month on October 27th, and marks the continuation of the Reclaimer Saga and Halo 4. With the EB Games Expo 2015 this weekend, eager FPS fans got the chance to indulge in the ultimate multiplayer experience.

Halo 5: Guardians Warzone features a massive 12 vs. 12 player combat mode, that is divided accordingly into two teams – Red and Blue. In an all out war for territory control, the goal for both teams is to destroy the opposing sides core (essentially their home base), while defending against Covenant alien forces. The key to success requires effective team work, which can be tricky in such a large-scale battle. Unlike the 4v4 Arena, Warzone requires all players to do their part in the mission, instead of relying on the strongest ones to hold the fort and achieve the teams objectives. While playing at the Expo, it was amusing to see the majority of my team roaming off on their own and returning only after respawn.

Halo-5-Guardians-Warzone-Screenshot-2.0

Warzone balances out the playing field with huge AI bosses, designed to attack both teams. Fortunately for players, the bosses are worth a great deal of points for the team that destroys them. The reason why earning points for your team is important, is because you can strategically win Warzone by reaching 1,000 points first. This brings to question, whether it’s better to go for a points-based victory or try and defeat enemy Spartans by invading their core.

Combat has evolved in Halo 5: Guardians for both multiplayer and campaign, players have new Spartan abilities they can utilise in combat without the need for armour abilities. To get ahead of the other team in Warzone, players must use the “energy points” they earn from kills to access more powerful weapons, vehicles and power-ups from Req stations.

Halo-5-Guardians-Warzone-Screenshot-3.0

From the perspective of a not-so-good Halo player, I found the sheer pace of Warzone overwhelming and lack of coordination between team mates a death wish. The high casualty rate isn’t for lack of trying, but not being supported when needed. Ultimately, teaming up with a group of friends as opposed to strangers would be wiser when playing Halo 5: Guardians Warzone, as you’re more inclined to work better together.

Don’t miss out on securing one of the greatest Xbox titles this year, pre-order Halo 5: Guardians to receive exclusive bonus DLC offers or get the Xbox One Limited Edition Halo 5: Guardians Console, with a wireless controller and a bundle of fantastic extras with the game.

19th Century Search Engine Created to Promote Assassin’s Creed Syndicate

assassins-creed-search-engine-screenshot- (1)

As you may know, this year’s Assassin’s Creed is set in 1868. This is before the internet or even anything electronic was even a concept in the world but what if it was? Well Ubisoft has decided to release a little search engine that is designed to replicate how the internet may have looked during the 19th century with their 19th Century Search Engine.

The engine is filled with hundreds of pieces of original content, a few of which are shown below, so don’t expect to randomly type in anything and get a result, but it is a great way to spend some time while we wait for Assassin’s Creed Syndicate to be released on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on October 23rd and on PC on November 19th.
