ARK: SURVIVAL EVOLVED INFLICTS TERROR FROM THE SKY AND THE GROUND

ARK: SURVIVAL EVOLVED INFLICTS TERROR FROM THE SKY AND THE GROUND

The Terror Bird Provides Swift, Deadly Attacks and the Grappling Hook Enables Game-Changing Mobility

SEATTLE, WA – Friday, February 5, 2016 – Studio Wildcard, the studio that never sleeps, is bombarding players with an aerial assault today in the newest update to ARK: Survival Evolved. Steam survivors will be delighted that the highly anticipated Tribal Alliances feature has been implemented, along with the frightening glide-able Terror Bird and the multi-use Grappling Hook, handy for traversing the ARK in entirely new ways. Now new players can start the epic survival-adventure ARK: Survival Evolved during the Lunar sale on Steam for only $19.99 (33% off standard price).

The Terror Bird, or Phorusrhacidae Rapidesultor, is a tamable and aggressive avian capable of high-speed sprints and brief leaps. It is not a flying bird per say, as its flight is comprised of short, sustained “Joust”-like glides or leaps. At eight to 12 feet tall, the Terror Bird is aggressive, but still tamable and ridable, making it an excellent combat mount, particularly for harassing and scouting. Riders of The Terror Bird gain most of the benefits of a fast, mobile ground-based theropod, while also gaining some of the freedom of movement from a flyer. Assuming the rider can coax it into staying in the air over a long leap! The Terror Bird shows traits related to theropods such as Utahraptor, Carnotaurus, and Tyrannosaurus, though its attacks differ, as they are made up of lightning dashes and leaping slashes.

The Grappling Hook is a game-changing tool enabling Survivors the ability to scale cliffs, hitch a ride by attaching to a flying creature, wrangle other players/prisoners, or even small creatures to drag along (“Get over here!”). Learning how to regularly use this tool will alter the nature of your attacks and dramatically expand the range of your travels with greater ease and fun!

Today’s ARK update also includes:

  • Tribe Alliances (PvE and PvP): Yes, finally, small Tribes can band together against larger ones!
  • Fishing Upgrade: Coelacanth Nutritia, common name Coel, are now different sizes (and give different amount of resources depending on the fish size…gives the rare chance of a super-large catch!)
  • Fully Localizable Game Text: Now you can crowd-source translation and dynamic fonts for any language without Modding/TC’s!
  • All Current Items added to the Master Items ID array

Come join the ARK community forums HERE: steamcommunity.com/app/346110/discussions/

Studio Wildcard is challenging the ARK: Survival Evolved and modding communities to put their creativity to the test in the ultimate ARK: Survival Evolved $60,000 modding competition! Whether it’s building an entirely new ARK Island or designing a new competitive gameplay mode, Studio Wildcard is looking for fans to submit their entries in one of three categories: ‘Mods’, ‘Maps,’ and ‘Total Conversions.’ All entries must be submitted before March 15, 2016, and the winners in each category will be announced on April 15, 2016. Jump into the Worldwide Modding Contest HERE: https://survivetheark.com/index.php?/forms/2-international-modding-contest/

ARK: Survival Evolved will launch in summer 2016 on Xbox One via the ID@Xbox program, PlayStation®4 with Project Morpheus support, and full release on Steam PC. The game is currently playable in Microsoft’s Game Preview on Xbox One and Steam’s Early Access program, which includes Oculus Rift VR support and an integration of Steam community features such as Steam Economy and Steam Workshop for custom maps and mods. Players can host private/LAN servers and have access to a custom-built version of the Unreal Engine 4 Editor for creating mods. The world of ARK is designed to be modder-friendly and ever-expanding!

H1Z1® TO SPLIT INTO TWO UNIQUE GAMES WITH DEDICATED DEVELOPMENT TEAMS: FIGHT-TO-THE-DEATH SPECTACLE H1Z1: KING OF THE KILL™ AND OPEN-WORLD ZOMBIE SURVIVAL GAME H1Z1: JUST SURVIVE™

H1Z1® to Split into two Unique games with dedicated development teams: Fight-to-the-Death Spectacle H1Z1: KING OF THE KILL™ and Open-World Zombie Survival Game H1Z1: Just Survive™

H1Z1: King of the Kill to Launch on PC, PlayStation®4 and Xbox One This Summer

SAN DIEGO – Feb. 5, 2016 – Daybreak Game Company LLC today announced the upcoming separation of the Early Access survival game H1Z1® into two independent games. H1Z1: King of the Kill™ is a large-scale, high-intensity multiplayer shooter comprised of a variety of new fight-to-the-death game modes, including fan-favorite PLAYERUNKNOWN’s Battle Royale. King of the Kill will come out of Early Access and launch this summer on consoles and PC. H1Z1, in turn, will now be called H1Z1: Just Survive™, and will refine its focus on delivering a persistent, post-apocalyptic, open-world zombie experience where scavenging, crafting and base-building are the difference between life and death.

On Feb. 17, 2016, both H1Z1: Just Survive and H1Z1: King of the Kill will be available on PC through Steam Early Access for $19.99 USD each. All players who currently own or purchase H1Z1 on or before Feb. 16 will be granted both games upon the separation.

“Since its release last year on Steam Early Access, we’ve had more than 2.5 million downloads of H1Z1 and rank as the number four top selling game on Steam of 2015 releases,” said Laura Naviaux, Chief Publishing Officer of Daybreak Games. “We launched H1Z1 as an Early Access title to allow the player community to help shape our development. Over the course of development, we discovered it had evolved into two unique gaming experiences, appealing to two distinct communities. Fostering lasting communities is the bedrock of our organization, and by allowing these worlds to exist independently and grow in their own distinguished ways, we can better deliver on a consistent vision and clear roadmap for each game toward official release and beyond.”

Both Just Survive and King of the Kill will continue to progress in Steam Early Access under the umbrella of the H1Z1 universe, but will be developed with independent milestones by dedicated teams within Daybreak Games. King of the Kill will come out of Early Access and launch simultaneously on PC, the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system and Xbox One this summer. Just Survive will remain in Early Access through the end of the year.

H1Z1: King of the Kill is all about the spectacle,” said Jens Andersen, Executive Creative Director of Daybreak Games.  “All of the game modes will feature unique gameplay elements that invite prowess, chaos, glory, and a little bit of ridiculousness all into one fight. The next game mode we introduce will make vehicles an important part of the exhibition, adding another layer of energy and turbulence to the mix as players have to move rapidly to different areas of the map in order to stay alive.”

Andersen added, “H1Z1: Just Survive development will remain focused on creating an open-world survival experience. We are working on creating a world that’s immersive, that captures the mindset of the last remaining humans trying to survive a post-apocalyptic zombie-filled wasteland – what does it feel like to be forced to scavenge for resources, to have to construct shelters to live, to aid or hinder the last remnants of human civilization? It’s a richer gameplay experience and we want to make sure we do it justice.”

Valkyria Chronicles Remastered’s Systems Introduced in Latest Trailer

Valkyria-Chronicles-Remastered-screenshot- (3)

Sega has released a new Japanese trailer for Valkyria Chronicles Remastered and this time around they focus on introducing a few of the gameplay systems in the game such as the ability to research better weaponry over time, which units are strong against others, and how the BLiTZ battle system works as players move around the battle field and give commands.

You can check out the trailer below and as for the game itself, it is set to be released in Japan on February 10th for the PlayStation 4 and has already been confirmed for release in North America and Europe sometime this spring.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD Trailer Shows off the New Bits

legend-of-zelda-twilight-princess-hd-screenshot-02

It is pretty cool to think we are so close to the release of the second Gamecube to Wii U port (or Wii if you played it on that platform), but The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD is coming to the system at the start of March, and Ninty have some fresh details. This is the kind of information you want to hear, as new details have emerged of the new aspects of the port job.

legend-of-zelda-twilight-princess-hd-screenshot-04

Check out the details for yourself:

By using the Wii U GamePad, players can now easily manage their inventory, access the map and quickly transform into a wolf via the touch screen, all without pausing the game. Players will also be able to use the GamePad to access Miiverse and can even play the game off-TV. Miiverse posts can be decorated with dozens of new Twilight Princess-related Miiverse stamps, hidden away throughout Hyrule.

The addition of a new item, the Ghost Lantern, will aid Link in the Poe Soul retrieving quest. When Link holds the Ghost Lantern it will helpfully glow when it detects a Poe in the area. Similarly, the number of Tears of Light that need to be collected by Link at various points in his adventure has been reduced from 16 to 12, making these collection tasks easier. Furthermore, if Link finds Rupees in a treasure chest while his wallet is already full, Rupees will no longer be returned to that chest. Players are also less likely to reach the limit of their wallets, as these have been modified to hold more Rupees.

Zelda veterans or brave new players who desire an added challenge can opt to play in Hero Mode right from the start. A testing new way to play through the main adventure, in Hero Mode Link will take double the normal damage and there are no health-replenishing hearts to be found. In a final layer of challenge the game world is also mirrored, so dungeon layouts will be reversed. For those in search of the ultimate challenge, tapping the Ganondorf amiibo on the Wii U GamePad when in Hero Mode will cause Link to take a staggering four times the normal damage until the play session ends.

As usual, a corresponding trailer detailing these features has also come to light, and you can check that out below along with a few screenshots. March 4th Marks this release, so stay tuned folks as we are getting closer!

Street Fighter V ‘Ken Masters’ Introduction Video Released

Street-Fighter-V-Ken-Screenshot- (10)

In what may seem like a bit of a strange place to start, Capcom has released the first of a series of character introduction videos for Street Fighter V and the first character being introduced is Ken Masters. The two minute long video serves as a way to show off many of Ken’s new moves and V-Triggers as well as a bit of story info about him and why you should play as him.

You can check out the video below and as for the game itself, Street Fighter V is set to be released on the PlayStation 4 and PC on February 16th.

Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir Arriving in Europe in June

Odin-Sphere-Lefitrasir-001

We learned a few weeks ago when Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir would be released in North America by Atlus USA and even saw an English trailer for the game earlier this week and now gamers in Europe now know when they can expect to play the title. NIS America has announced that they will be releasing Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir physially and digitally in June for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PS Vita.

Those in Europe looking to pick up the PlayStation 4 exclusive “Storybook Edition,” which contains a copy of the game, 64-page hardcover art book, a potion recipe t-shirt, a collectible metal slipcase, Alice and Socrates art print, and a premium box featuring the game’s fantastic artwork, will be able to do so either through Amazon or GAME.

Return to PopoloCrois: A Story of Seasons Fairytale Launches on March 1 in North America

return-to-popolocrois-a-story-of-seasons-fairytale-screenshot-019

It looks like XSEED Games had just a little bit more news for Return to PopoloCrois: A Story of Seasons Fairytale than the features trailer they released yesterday. I say that because they have released a second trailer for the game and this time around the focus happens to be on a setting the North American release date for the game for March 1st.

As for gamers in Europe, the title will be released digitally sometime in the first quarter of 2016 but for now they can still check out the announcement trailer containing new English gameplay footage for Return to PopoloCrois: A Story of Seasons Fairytale below.

Pokken Tournament Tutorial Video Released for Pikachu and Lucario

Pokken-Tournament-screenshot-068

After announcing a whole slew of new Pokemon for the roster, it looks like Nintendo and Bandai Namco want to get potential players accustomed to the way that the controls in Pokken Tournament will work when the title is released on the Wii U worldwide on March 18th.

To do so they will be releasing a series of demo videos showing off how to activate certain Pokemon moves. This first video focuses on showing off how Pikachu and Lucario’s special moves can be activated on the GamePad as well as a special move called a “Resonance Burst” that buffs up the Pokemon and allows for a powerful Burst Attack to be unleashed.
