SHARE YOUR FEELINGS WHILE DESTROYING FREINDSHIPS – MOVE OR DIE “TOXIC UPDATE” NOW AVAILABLE

Chat Features, In-Game Emotes, Three Added Game Modes, Soundtrack Packs, a Tsundere Shark, and a Plethora of Online Improvements Abound!

Bucharest, Romania – July 6, 2016 – The mad, near-genius minds of indie developer Those Awesome Guys continue to perfect the ultimate friendship-ruining experience of Move or Die and are very pleased today with their latest free DLC update, “The Toxic Update,” now available on Steam. Amongst the most wanted additions of chat features and in-game emotes to communicate (i.e. taunt) with other players, “The Toxic Update” adds three new game modes, new Fly or Die Mutator, six playable characters, and rockin’ soundtrack packs. Furthermore, several highly requested online enhancements including host migration, AFK AI bots and several online bug fixes will greatly improve online playability of Move or Die.

In the Boss Fight game mode, players will chase the boss player – in this case a large… kitty.

“While we’re always going to be adding new gameplay modes, it was vitally important to get the much-requested online chat features added with this new update to Move or Die,” states Nicolae Berbece, founder and lead developer of Those Awesome Guys. “We continue to read the feedback from players on the Steam forums, so please keep it coming as we are not even close to being done with adding all the community-requested features!”

Move or Die “The Toxic Update” features include:

  • Online Chat: Players can now communicate and even challenge each other right from the Play Online screen.
  • Emotes: With in-game emotes, players can convey certain message of joy, surprise, anger, and more – taunt away your opponents in glorious spamming fashion!
  • Three New Game Modes:
    • “Hoops” – Pick up the basketball and score from downtown! You can even dunk the rock if you have the skill (and a jetpack).
    • “God Gun” – Players take turns controlling a massive godly gun at the top of the screen that fires a huge laser that even destroys the floor below. Suffice to say, don’t get hit by the laser.
    • “Boss Fight” – A chase mode where one of the players becomes a huge boss and the other players team up to kill the boss using tesla guns.
  • Fly or Die Mutator: New Mutator that only regenerates the player’s health while in mid-air.
  • Six Added Characters: Because you can never have enough absurd characters like Bert (The Owl), Pizzuh (slice of pizza), Willow (The Pillow), Horny (The Rhino), Radical (The Tooth) and Tsundere Shark (The… uh, Shark) have been added to the zany roster of over 50 characters!
  • Online Gameplay Enhancements: Several small additions to online play combine to vastly improve the multiplayer experience.
    • Host Migration – If the host leaves during an online game, the game will continue where the host title will be smoothly migrated to new player.
    • No more AFK Hosts – Hosts who are inactive in their own server will be kicked after 120 seconds.
    • AFK Bots – AI bots automatically take the place of any player that leaves in the middle of an online game; that AFK Bot slot will be considered open for previous player to return or a new player to join mid-game.
  • Updated Daily Missions: Double the number of daily missions have been added in-game including highly difficult tasks like jumping over the Spike Ball and killing a player with their original chainsaw in Chalnsaw Backstab.
  • Soundtrack Packs: Players can now choose between multiple soundtrack packs including an extra set of songs composed by Waterflame (the Early Access original soundtrack).
  • Mod Recommendations: Curious about the mods available in Move or Die? At the end of each local match, the game will automagically recommend a character mod to the player!
  • Touch Controls: For users playing on Windows devices with a touch screen such as the Microsoft Surface, Move or Die is now touchscreen compatible – TOUCH IT!

Move or Die is available now on Steam for $14.99. To learn more about Move or Die and “The Toxic Update”, please visit moveordiegame.com, ‘Like’ it on Facebook, and follow its development on Twitter @moveordiegame for all the latest developer updates and news.

Cleopatra leads Egypt in Civilization VI

Cleopatra leads Egypt in Civilization VI

2K and Firaxis Games today revealed that Cleopatra will lead Egypt in Sid Meier’s Civilization VI, launching on Oct 21st for Windows PC.

Born Cleopatra Thea Philopater in 69 BC, the Egyptian ruler set forth on a path to power that left many lives in her wake. At the age of 14, after many of her rivals had been poisoned or executed, she was made regent and deputy to her father, Ptolemy XII. Four years later, her father passed away, leaving Cleopatra and her brother Ptolemy XIII (who was only ten years old at the time) as joint rulers of Egypt. Cleopatra, now married to her younger brother, had no intention of sharing power, and eventually had all mention of her brother erased from public records. Ptolemy XIII fled and she had become the sole leader and pharaoh of Egypt.
In the years to follow, Cleopatra would strike up romances with powerful Roman figures such as Julius Caesar and Mark Antony, and ally Ancient Egypt with some of the most important figures of the time. Throughout her rule, it was these choices that would eventually cause the fall of the Egyptian empire at the hands of Rome.

Unique unit: Maryannu Chariot Archer
The Maryannu Chariot Archer is a hereditary class of nobles riding in two-man light chariots. This style of chariot offered a stable base for archers and more room for ammunition, but had its limitations when it came to terrain. Horses and chariots posed maintenance complications, especially during longer campaigns, but the Maryannu were ultimately one of the more elite units in the pharaoh’s army.

Unique Improvement: Sphinx
The Egyptian sphinx is a mythical creature comprised of a human’s head atop a lion’s body. The sphinx was a common theme for pharaohs obsessed with strength, eternity and wisdom, and ranged in size from small to great – the latter of which is seen in the oldest known monumental sculpture existing today: the “Great Sphinx” of Giza.

10 Second Ninja X Demo Empowers Players to Determine Full Game Price

10 Second Ninja X Demo Empowers Players to Determine Full Game Price

Curve Digital and Four Circle Interactive Reward Skill with Innovative ‘Prepare to Buy’ Edition Challenge for Upcoming Action Platformer

LONDON — July 6, 2016 — Be quick and pay less! Established indie publisher Curve Digital and developer Four Circle Interactive today revealed that its heart-pumping action platformer 10 Second Ninja X – headed to Windows PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita – will be priced worldwide based on how players perform in the game’s just-launched PC demo, Prepare to Buy’ Edition. A new, light-hearted gameplay trailer titled “Pupil vs. Master” highlights the game’s fleet-footed style and potential for replayability: https://youtu.be/uRVe7qbdYcY

Playable via Steam (http://store.steampowered.com/app/435790/) as well as directly in-browser at the official website (http://10second.ninja/challenge), the free ‘Prepare to Buy’ Edition allows players to earn in-game stars based on how quickly they complete stages, and subsequently lower the game’s final pricing across all formats when the full game launches on July 19. For each star collected by players worldwide across the demo’s five levels, Curve Digital will drop the launch price by 0.0008 percent up to a maximum of 40 percent. If 50,000 stars are collected cumulatively prior to release, 10 Second Ninja X will be discounted to an almost irresistible $5.99 from its planned price of $9.99.

10 Second Ninja X may look like a straightforward action platformer,” says Dan Pearce, Game Director at Four Circle Interactive. “But it’s so much more than that. Achieving three stars on any level is a challenge – so we wanted to reward those who gain stars in the demo by offering a real, financial reward. With 15 stars available in the demo, we only need 3,334 players to demonstrate total mastery. We have every faith that the challenge will be met.”

“Potentially dropping the price like this is a ridiculous idea,” adds Simon Byron from publisher Curve Digital.

A running total of the number of stars collected can be viewed live at http://10second.ninja/challenge. The challenge runs from today through 12:01 AM BST on July 18 (4:00 PM PDT / 7:00 PM EDT on July 17), after which the launch discount will be set.

About 10 Second Ninja X

Offering fast-paced, action-packed platforming, the premise of 10 Second Ninja X is simple: destroy everything within ten seconds in order to continue. The studio’s original 10 Second Ninja won many fans, and the standalone sequel improves literally everything about the game’s formula, apart from the strict ten second time limit, which remains at ten seconds. Designed from the ground up to be instantly replayable, 10 Second Ninja X is as joyous as it is challenging, and failing a level, be that by meeting a painful end or not completing the objective within ten seconds, is guaranteed to be entirely the player’s fault.

10 Second Ninja X boasts 60 immaculately designed levels spread across six rich and varied worlds. While much of the challenge comes from demonstrating the dexterity and reactions necessary to traverse each level within ten seconds, players looking for a bigger challenge will want to complete each as fast as possible. Each level is a puzzle, with its hallowed three-star reward reserved only for the genuinely skilled. Three-starring levels requires such pixel-perfect precision, such error-free choreography, that a perfect run will come rarely. But when it does, oh boy…

Developed by Four Circle Interactive and published by Curve Digital, 10 Second Ninja X is slated to launch on July 19, 2016 for Xbox One, PC, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita (cross-buy is enabled for the latter two versions) for a price of… who knows!?

KOEI TECMO EUROPE REVEALS ACTION-PACKED ONLINE FEATURES FOR A.O.T. WINGS OF FREEDOM

KOEI TECMO EUROPE REVEALS ACTION-PACKED ONLINE FEATURES FOR A.O.T. WINGS OF FREEDOM

Allowing for Up to Four Players. Scout Mode Summons the Scout Regiment to Unleash Humanity’s Wrath

Hertfordshire, 6th July 2016– KOEI TECMO Europe today revealed the new multiplayer Scout Mode as well as additional gameplay mechanics available in A.O.T. Wings of Freedom, the titanic action game based on the worldwide anime hit ‘Attack on Titan’, alongside a new gameplay video. The game will release on the 26th August 2016 for the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, and Xbox One, the all-in-one games and entertainment system from Microsoft, as well as digitally only on the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, PlayStation®Vita handheld system and PC via Steam®.

The fast paced Scout Mode allows players to recruit up to three companions online to venture outside the wall and face the eerily human-like Titans together. Starting at the camp, team members are able to upgrade their gear, change their costumes and prepare resources for an upcoming onslaught. The leader of the group is able to choose from a wide selection of missions taking place across a variety of different stages, including the Forest of Giant Trees, the Ruined Town, a Farm Village and even the Stohess District. These missions, separate from the main campaign, offer further action-packed events to face as a team.

Throughout A.O.T. Wings of Freedom players will have the opportunity to upgrade their titan-slaying gear. The Omni-Directional Manoeuver Gear, blades, and scabbard can be enhanced at the camp with materials found from slaying Titans on single player and multiplayer missions. Enhancements to the Omni-Directional Manoeuver Gear include improved anchors, allowing them to attach on to Titans from a greater distance and at faster speeds. Blades can be sharpened, as well as improved to become longer and more durable, with scabbard upgrades allowing additional blades and gas canisters to be carried. It is important for players to raise their equipment’s level to perform more effectively on the battlefield.

KOEI TECMO Europe released three character videos showcasing Erwin, Hange and Levi, as well as a new gameplay video highlighting the Decisive Battle Signal. Rescuing regiment members in danger and slaying titans will fill up the Decisive Battle Meter which, once used, calls everyone in the player’s vicinity to their side to deal a great amount of damage. When activated their attack damage will be heightened, with the blunting of blades and depletion of gas momentarily stopped.

Roccat Suora Frameless Mechanical Keyboard Review

Roccat Suora Frameless Mechanical Keyboard

Manufacturer: Roccat
Platform: Windows
Release Date: July 2016
Price: $99.99 USD – Available Here

Video Review

The Roccat Suora Frameless Mechanical Keyboard marks a new direction for Roccat. This is the first serious break from Roccat’s standard keyboard design. The Roccat Suora is a completely frameless mechanical keyboard designed to provide the full 104 key layout in the most compact form possible. The keyboard features Roccat blue LEDs and brown keyswitches from TTC.

The Roccat Suora’s packaging is a rather no frills affair. The box is designed to survive a few drop kicks by inattentive staff at your local courier service. Inside the box is a small quick start guide and the keyboard itself packed in a plastic bag.

roccat-suora-promo-shot-02

The keyboard is built with a plastic case and a metal top plate. The plate only extends a centimeter beyond the end of the keycaps, making the keyboard incredibly compact. A very tastefully grey Roccat logo is placed just above the arrow keys. The key caps are coated quite well. All but one key’s coating are perfect on my keyboard. The blue LEDs are traditional-type LEDs mounted to the body of the key switches. The USB cable is lengthy enough for most set ups and uses a-tay in place.

The keyboard is incredibly sleek and sophisticated looking. The LEDs for Caps Lock, Num Lock, and Scroll Lock turn off and on based on their status. The font and icons on the keycaps are restrained and clear. If it wasn’t for the Game Mode key and the Roccat branding on the Windows key and the top plate, it would be easy to forget that the keyboard is designed for gaming. I’m not a huge fan of the shape of the Game Mode and macro icons, I think a plain rectangle would have looked better than the slightly crooked shape they chose.

roccat-suora-promo-shot-07

I have a love/hate relationship with the frameless design. I love how compact the Roccat Suora is. Unlike most gaming keyboards I’ve used in the past, I’ve rediscovered quite a bit of desk space since I started using the Suora. On the other hand, I tend to keep several cables on my desk for Xbox controllers, smartphone charging, headphone cables, and so forth. I found the frameless design has a nasty habit of allowing loose cables to slip between the top plate and the keycap which prevents key from being depressed.

It is no secret that Cherry Corporation has been having problems with supplying enough Cherry MX switches to satisfy a very hungry mechanical keyboard market. I would not be surprised if these supply issues played a major role in Roccat releasing its first non-Cherry mechanical keyboard. Roccat has opted to use TTC brown switches for the Suora. TTC has long manufactured switches for mice and has recently started producing Cherry clones. The TTC switches have the same specs as Cherry MX Brown, with 45 grams of force to actuate and tactile feedback. Based on the specs TTC offers, these switches are supposed built with tighter actuation force tolerances and higher lifespans than what Cherry offers. In practice, I find the TTC brown switches feel more crisp than the Cherry MX Browns. This also results in a higher pitches click compared to the mushier thud of the Cherry switch. The TTC brown switches remind me of a slightly quieter version of the incredibly loud Cherry MX Blue switch. I find the crisper feel of the TTC browns to be a more pleasant typing experience than the Cherry equivalent, but I also happen to be a fan of the extremely loud Cherry MX Blue switch.

roccat-suora-promo-shot-03Since the Roccat Suora is a frameless keyboard, Roccat has dispensed with some of the standard features of Roccat keyboards, like the left row of macro keys and the three macro keys under the space bar. In its place, Roccat has added a set of four keys on the top right corner of the keyboard for volume controls and Game Mode toggle. When Game Mode is activated, the Windows key is disabled and the Insert/Delete cluster is replaced with six macros. Frankly, I find the position of the macro keys to be utterly useless. For almost all games, my keyboard hand is always firmly planted on the left side of the keyboard. It’s a total waste of time to have to look down and move one of my hands off their position to hit one of the macro keys.

The Roccat Suora uses the new Swarm software. I like the fact Swarm is designed to be a one stop shop for all of Roccat’s newest gaming peripherals, dropping the need to install a new set of software each time. The macros can only be bound to the six macro keys. In game mode though, any non-function key can be rebound to another key on the keyboard.  I am a bit disappointed that the inclusion of Game Mode means the Easy Shift [+] functionality is gone, which provided a lot more flexibility. While a bit pointless in a practical sense, the ability to add sounds like typewriter clicks and pew pews of laser beams to typing is a fun addition. While I wouldn’t use it all the time, I found writing this review to the clacking of an old-school typewriter to be a relaxing experience.

roccat-suora-promo-shot-01The lighting options for the Roccat Suora is a little more restrained. There are only options for a fully lit keyboard at different brightness settings, a slow pulsing “breathing” mode, and no lighting at all. Lighting modes can be cycled through using the keyboard. I found all of the LEDs to be consistent in brightness.

Unfortunately, the promised Roccat Swarm Connect software for mobile phones is still a work in progress. The software is only available on Android at the moment and is still mostly designed for the Roccat Nyth mouse. It hasn’t been updated since December 2015, so hopefully a properly working release is in the horizon.

The Roccat Suora Frameless Mechanical Keyboard is an excellent keyboard. With its sleek and professional design, people would likely be unaware of the Suora’s gaming functions without a closer look. As a person who hates tenkeyless designs, the Suora is the perfect balance of form and function. Unfortunately, the macros are a little too far for practical use and the software features are a little slimmer compared to some of the Roccat Suora’s more expensive siblings. While I would not recommend it for the macro-addicted power gamer, the Roccat Suora is a brilliant compact keyboard for the mature gamer who is looking to keep their workspace uncluttered and elegant.
