During today’s Xbox Tokyo Game Show Broadcast, Kingsglory and Pawprint Studio shared a new trailer for Aniimo, the free-to-play, open world creature-catching action RPG launching in 2026 for Xbox Series X|S, PC, and mobile.
The new trailer shows off a variety of the game’s namesake, Aniimo—creatures who inhabit the world of Idyll and can accompany players on their journeys as Pathfinders. As players encounter Aniimo throughout the world, they will discover that Aniimo behave differently when faced with new environments and weather; can be peaceful, provocative, or protective; live in groups or roam by themselves; and other distinguishing factors and behaviors.
A number of Aniimo took the stage in today’s fresh look at the game to give players an idea of the type of interactions these colorful creatures may have with their environment, as well as with other Aniimo:
Stellarys – An evolution of Celestis that can only occur on rainy days, Stellarys uses water to defend and attack and travels alone across Idyll, in stark contrast to Celestis. Because a Celestis that is already owned by a Pathfinder will no longer evolve into Stellarys when in rainy weather, players who want to add a Stellarys to their roster must find and capture one in the wild.
Helgon and Helmut – Helgons can exploit Helmuts’ weaknesses in the wild, provoking them to evolve in one of two ways. Most often, Helmut will evolve into Rookguard, which gives them the ability to transform into a metal sphere, thus protecting themselves from Helgon. However, in some rare cases, the bravest Helmuts may instead evolve into Pawney, allowing them to challenge Infregon, the Helgon’s family boss.
These interactions and evolutions offer just a sneak peek at the variety on display among the Aniimo, with plenty more for Pathfinders to discover when they explore Idyll for themselves. Today’s Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2025 Broadcast – available to watch on demand – was packed with major updates for players worldwide, showcasing a diverse lineup of 25 games.
Xbox announced that Forza Horizon 6, set in Japan, will be coming in 2026, offered a deep dive into Ninja Gaiden 4 and announced a Japan World Update for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. We also unveiled new gameplay for the Age of Mythology: Heavenly Spearexpansion, saw two new Japan-set multiplayer maps for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, and celebrated the best Japanese-created C.A.M.P.s in Fallout 76.
Several of these titles, including Forza Horizon 6, Terminull Brigade, and Winter Burrow, are coming to Game Pass, as the service continues to expand it’s exciting, high-quality line-up. The majority also support Xbox Play Anywhere, letting you play on console, PC, and on-the-go with the new ROG Xbox Ally handhelds arriving October 16.

As revealed in today’s teaser, Playground Games is thrilled to be taking players to Japan in Forza Horizon 6, the next entry in the critically acclaimed and award-winning Forza Horizon series. As one of the most requested locations destinations for the open-world driving series, players will get to discover a scenic, breathtaking, and culturally authentic Japan as they aim to become a Legend at the Horizon Festival.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 takes players deep into Japan, immersing them in one of the most visually and culturally rich settings the team has ever built, while delivering the gameplay that Black Ops is known for. With several of the game’s 18 multiplayer launch maps inspired by Japan, the team revealed the first details of two of them. Den is a sprawling Japanese compound set in a castle, blending tradition with 2035 tech, while Toshin, playable in the Black Ops 7 Beta, transports players into the heart of neon-lit Tokyo with unique play spaces including a cat cafe and karaoke room.
The Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 OpenBeta will run from October 5 – 8, with Early Access for those who have pre-ordered the game and eligible Game Pass subscribers granted on October 2. Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 launches globally on November 14.

Revamp, bringing relaxed build rules and a re-worked Workshop UI to open the door for even more personalized play. Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe today announced that Code Vein II, the long-awaited follow-up to the 2019 hit CODE VEIN, will launch worldwide on 30 January 2026. Developed by Bandai Namco Studios, the new action RPG takes players on an epic journey where they wield time as a weapon, traverse through past and present versions of an explorable world and uncover a dramatic battle to save the world. Code Vein II features action-packed RPG play with engaging combat and a deep progression system for character, weapon and ability upgrades. Players will travel across vast environments with companions who factor large into a dynamic Partner System as they take on challenging foes and massive, unforgettable bosses. Code Vein II is available now for pre-orders on PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam® in Standard, Deluxe, Ultimate and Collector Editions.

The trailer reveals never-before-seen features, including the first glimpse of a world where players will traverse on foot or by summoning their vehicle, the Motorcycle Forma, as they battle through haunting landscapes such as the Sunken City region, ruled by the Revenant Josée Anjou. Alongside Lou MagMell, a Revenant girl who revives the protagonist with her own heart and wields the power to travel through time, the player as the Revenant Hunter embarks on a mission to rewrite history and save the world.
Also revealed is the new Partner System, which lets players seamlessly switch between two forms of combat. In Summoning mode, Partners fight independently to support in battle, while Assimilation merges them with the Hunter for enhanced stats and devastating power. The trailer further highlights new Jails and Formae, including the returning Hound Jail, a finishing critical move from CODE VEIN which summons vicious wolves that drain enemies of Ichor, and the newly introduced Reaper Jail, which equips the Hunter with a scythe for sweeping attacks and counters. Formae expands the player’s combat options with a range of offensive and defensive abilities, while Bequeathed Formae summons unique weapons such as the “Absolute Executioner,” a colossal greatsword capable of delivering a single, devastating finishing blow.
Code Vein II features a deep narrative where players and characters are bound by blood, fate, and destiny, set in a future where the last remnants of humanity and Revenants struggle against a world on the verge of collapse. The player, as the Revenant Hunter, will intervene in key moments of history to alter key revenants’ destinies that reveal hidden truths and information to save the future. Code Vein II features distinctive gameplay for an action RPG, where players use blood drained from enemies to unlock a variety of powerful skills, build strategy for combat with Blood codes, and use unique weapons and equipment called Jails to overcome challenging foes and epic bosses. Code Vein II also features a deep customization system for the game’s protagonist, where players can customize their characters to perfection with a vast array of settings for body type, hairstyle, facial expressions, accessories, makeup and more.
