LOGITECH G INTRODUCES NEW GAMING MOUSE DESIGNED WITH AND FOR PROFESSIONAL ESPORTS PLAYERS

NEWARK, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Logitech (SIX:LOGN) (NASDAQ:LOGI) today announced the Logitech® G Pro Gaming Mouse. Designed for eSports athletes, this new gaming mouse features Logitech’s most accurate optical gaming sensor, a metal spring button tensioning system, onboard memory for driver-free operation on tournament systems, and a comfortable, durable yet lightweight design. The Logitech G Pro Gaming Mouse builds on the heritage and global popularity of the Logitech G100s shape with top competitive eSports professionals, and combines it with the incredible speed, accuracy and responsiveness of the G303.

Tweet now: Meet the new Logitech G Pro Gaming Mouse from @LogitechG #PlaytoWin

“The benefit of working with eSports players is that they tell us what they like, and more importantly, what they don’t like,” said Ujesh Desai, vice president and general manager of gaming at Logitech. “Our new Logitech G Pro Gaming Mouse takes what eSports pros loved about the G100s and G303 and combines it into a mouse that we’re confident will meet their standards.”

“Competing at the top level requires a well-built mouse,” said Tyler “Skadoodle” Latham of Cloud 9 CS:GO. “After working closely with Logitech and extensive testing, the new Pro Gaming Mouse is my preferred mouse. With a comfortable shape and top-of-the-line sensor, I never have problems picking off my enemies.”

Advanced Optical Gaming Sensor

Consistent, pixel-precise accuracy makes a critical difference in high-stakes competitive gameplay. The PMW3366 sensor delivers a level of precision widely considered to be the best by enthusiasts and professionals alike. With zero smoothing, filtering or acceleration across the entire DPI range (200-12,000 DPI), it provides exceptional tracking accuracy and consistent responsiveness at any speed.

Metal Spring Button Tensioning System

The metal spring button tensioning system in the Logitech G Pro Gaming Mouse enhances the consistency of the left and right mouse buttons and reduces the force required to click. This helps deliver crisp, reliable click performance for your highest level of competition.

Comfortable, Durable and Lightweight Design

The Logitech G Pro Gaming mouse is the culmination of more than 30 years of engineering and manufacturing experience. The mouse is optimized to reduce weight to improve comfort, stability and responsiveness. Every aspect of the engineering has been rigorously tested to make sure it can stand up to even the most intense gaming. The top surface of the Logitech G Pro Gaming Mouse is treated with a special coating to improve durability and grip, and the left and right buttons are tested to exceed 20 million clicks – the equivalent of a pro gamer training 10 hours every day for two years.

Onboard Memory for Driver-free Operation on Tournament Systems

Because you can’t always guarantee the tournament machine will have your configuration software available, or even that it’s allowed to be installed, the Logitech G Pro Gaming Mouse lets you save your exact DPI settings, button assignments, and lighting configuration to the onboard memory in the mouse, all using the Logitech Gaming Software (LGS), so you’ll never have to worry about whether your setup is right.

Pricing and Availability

The Logitech G Pro Gaming Mouse is expected to be available in the U.S. and Europe beginning August 2016 for a suggested retail price of $69.99 and €69.95 respectively. For more information please visit gaming.logitech.com and check out our videos of the Pro Gaming Mouse here.

Street Fighter V August Update Focuses on Rage Quitting

Street-Fighter-V-ibuki-screenshot- (6)

With Street Fighter V more or less fully launched at this point now that the game’s “story mode” has been released and a few characters continue to trickle out every month, it looks like Capcom is going to be focusing a bit more on other things when it comes to updating Street Fighter V this month and next.

Capcom has stated that this month starting on August 16th those who rage quit will begin to lose “League Points” and be locked out of online matchmaking for a set period of time while the September update will hope to add in the long awaited feature that is included in every fighting game, VS CPU, as well as daily targets, colors for premium costumes and a bit more.

The full details can be found below:

Rage Quitting Penalty
We are aware of the Rage Quitting issue, and this update will continue our efforts toward resolving it. We will make a second update to the existing Rage Quitting system with stricter guidelines for players who disconnect before the match is over. Players who are penalized will lose League Points and be locked out of online matching for a set time. The update will be implemented after the maintenance on 8/16.

Since the initial Rage Quitting system rollout, we have seen a rapid decrease in rage quitting players, and we believe that this new update will reduce that number even further. That being said, we’re still working on implementing a new, more robust system that will address the issue more completely by early next year.

Double Fight Money Event
Double Fight Money is happening! We appreciate your support for Street Fighter V, so we’re giving you the chance to double your FM earnings in Ranked Match! We will hold our first Double FM Event on the weekend of September 2-4th. Please stay tuned for more details!

Additional Features
The next September update will include:

  • VS CPU Option
  • Daily Targets – Daily challenges with Fight Money rewards!
  • Fighter Profile Updates!
  • Free colors for Season Pass holders – Colors 3-10 for Default and Battle costumes of the 6 DLC characters
  • Premium costumes will now include colors! – Colors 3-10 of the purchased premium costume
  • Color bundles available for purchase via FM or Real Money – All 22 Characters’ Default & Story Costumes Color Pack 3-10

PlayStation 4 Update 4.00 to Add Folders, Quick Menu, and More

playstation-4-4-update-screenshot-002

Sony has revealed what will be included in the PlayStation 4‘s upcoming 4.00 update that goes by the code name of “Shingen.” Those who are part of the public beta program will soon find the 4.00 update available to them and with it come a number of new features that fans have been looking forward to. This includes the likes of a an updated user interface, the ability to quickly access the menu, an overhaul to the share menu, and the ability to create folders and organize your library of games.

You can find more details about each of these updates below.

UI refresh

We’ve made a lot of adjustments and improvements to PS4’s main UI. That includes a range of changes, like revised pop-up notifications, updated system icons and new system backgrounds to choose from. As a whole, it all adds up to a more refined and easy to use UI.

Quick Menu

As you know, pressing and holding the PS button on Dualshock 4 brings up the Quick Menu. We’ve overhauled this menu to make it faster and easier to use. One big change is that the menu now only covers a portion of the screen, meaning you don’t need to leave gameplay entirely.

While still offering a range of feature options such as viewing trophies for the game you are playing, you can also customise the Quick Menu to add shortcuts for the features you want immediate access to. For instance, you can add Online Friends to your Quick Menu that will show the online status of your friends, as well as shortcuts to your Favourite Groups and Communities and lots more.

Share Menu

We’ve given a similar overhaul to the Share Menu, which appears once you press the Share button on Dualshock 4. Like the Quick Menu, it only covers a portion of the screen. It will save the last social network you shared video clips or screenshots to and allow you to share screenshots directly to a Community wall, making the process of sharing a screenshot or video a bit faster and more streamlined

You can also upload longer video clips to Twitter (was 10 seconds, now up to 140 seconds).

Folders and Library Organisation

One of the big requests we get from you is for more options to organise content on PS4. With this update, we’re adding functionality to create folders on PS4’s content launcher and library. This will help collect your favourite games and select apps in one place for quick and easy access.

We’re also making some pretty big changes to the Library. We’ve added a new tab called Purchased Content, which will show all of the content you own while your main library will only show content that is currently installed on your PS4. If you’ve downloaded a lot of games, demos, and game betas over the years, this should really help de-clutter your Library.

There are some new sorting tools for your Library as well allowing you to sort content by purchase date or install status. Also you can search for specific games and apps via text input.

playstation-4-4-update-screenshot-006

Trophy Improvements

This update brings the ability to view Trophies offline. You’ll see a new ‘offline mode’ option if your system is unable to connect to the network, letting you view your entire trophy collection without an internet connection.

We’ve also added a button that will let you reveal the content of a Hidden Trophy. The trophy will still be hidden by default, but you can now choose to show the trophy name and info.

Lastly, we’re changing the icons that show how rare a trophy is. Instead of four boxes that fill, the icon looks like a pyramid with the ultra-rare trophies at the top.

playstation-4-4-update-screenshot-005

User Profile

We’ve updated the look of the User Profile, making it easier to see relevant info for a player at-a-glance. For instance, you can now see your trophy progress compared with another player right from their profile. You can also add a background image to your own profile selected from the screenshots you took in your favourite games.

The 4.00 update has even more features that won’t be available in the beta, so stay tuned for additional info on what to expect. We’ll be back with more info on 4.00, including its launch date, in the coming weeks.
