Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse Trailer Focuses on Strategies

shin-megami-tensei-iv-apocalypse-screenshot-028

Atlus USA has released a new trailer for Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse and with it come some tips to help survive the powerful demons that players will be facing off against. With over four hundred and fifty different kinds of enemies that players can fight, fuse, or recruit, there are five different strategies that Atlus is stating will be useful for players to pay attention to. These strategies are as follows:

1. Strike First – Tokyo is crawling with demons, so if you see one (or a hundred) while exploring be sure to strike first. If you land a successful first hit, you’ll be allowed to attack first during the battle sequence. While this doesn’t sounds super important, preemptive strikes can mean the difference between life and death. Seriously, death is around every turn in this game, so striking first is a must!

2. Exploit Weaknesses – Fighting demons may seem like a daunting task, but it’s not too difficult once you get into a rhythm. Attacks come in eight classes — Physical, Gun, Fire, Ice, Electric, Force, Light, Dark — and must be used wisely during every encounter. That’s because demons have an elemental weakness that can be exploited to deal devastating damage. For example, battling a gaggle of fire class demons? Don’t fret! It’s nothing that a little Bufu or Raging Blizzard can’t handle. Make sure to remember each demon’s weakness to maximize damage output!

3. Use Buffs – While attacks are the bread and butter of a demon hunter’s arsenal, utilizing buffs can be the difference between a victory screen or making a sad visit to the underworld. Buffs can boost damage/defense, lower enemy damage/defense, prevent negative status effects, heal the team, and more, so make sure to use them!

4. Utilize the Right Partners – Besides demons, you’ll be able to enlist the help of various partners such as Asahi, Navarre, Nozomi, Hallelujah, Gaston, Toki, and Isabeau who can turn the tide of battles in a big way. Each partner offers a different type of support, so it would be best to choose one that best accompanies your team build. Need a healing touch? Asahi is your girl. If extra fire power is what you’re missing, Nozomi is probably a good choice. If muscle is needed, no one hits harder like Gaston!  Essentially, partners will fill any offensive/defensive gaps that are missing.

5. Don’t Panic – Fighting demons takes a lot of strategy, and can be terrifying when they ambush you into a battle. However, the worst thing to do is panic and let the demons tear you apart in a turn or two. Be patient, take a step back, and take a look at all the attack options you have at your disposal before making a move.

Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse is currently set to be released in North America on September 20th for the Nintendo 3DS with a European release planned but not scheduled at this time.

Attack on Titan Game Storyline to go Beyond the Anime

attack-on-titan-screenshot-(109)

As many would have expected, especially thanks to the padding that was worked into the anime series, Koei Tecmo has announced that the Attack on Titan game storyline will be going beyond what the first anime season managed to adapt. This means that there will be additional game-exclusive campaign missions that involve elements of the game that go past the fight with the Female Titan and explore how facing off against both the Armored and Beast Titans will go.

The company has released a pair of new videos for Attack on Titan to go along with this news, one of which is the launch trailer while the other focuses on showing off how Mikasa will play when the game is released on August 30th in North America and on August 26th in Europe.

Console Versions to Follow Next Year With Rising Star Games Publishing All Versions of The Hilarious Party Arcade Game

Los Angeles, CA – August 16, 2016 – Videogame publisher Rising Star Games today throws on its dancing shoes and funkiest moves to announce a new partnership with game development studio Undercoders, bringing the dance party extravaganza Conga Master to PC and consoles.

The hilarious party arcade game Conga Master sees up to four players each controlling their chosen party-goer in his or her quest to create the most epic conga line ever.

Travelling through different nightclub locales during a night to remember, players will find all manner of dancers with different styles and personalities. Shimmy up close to entice them with a successful display of dazzling dancing, and they will join your line. But, with great conga comes great responsibility, and the longer the conga, the harder it will be to maintain momentum and avoid disco downers, like the crotchety custodians or the pigs in disguise who will try to infiltrate your line and stink up your party vibe.

Birthed out of the theme-based accelerated game development event ‘Ludum Dare,’ Conga Master is now a fully fleshed-out, content-packed game, in its own right. Conga Master features extensive local co-op and competitive multiplayer modes for up to four players, as well as a crazy single-player campaign. Don’t be fooled by the easy-to-learn, simple two-button controls – the game boasts a wealth of features such as, combo systems, objective-based play, over 30 different characters each with their own skills and attributes, seven different nightclub environments, bonus stages, unlockable rewards, online rankings and ‘endless’ modes, and much more.

“Conga Master has a singleness of vision that glitters and stands out in today’s gaming space,” said Lee Skittrell, Marketing Strategist, Rising Star Games. “The game’s heart and spirit is made of pure unabashed fun; the kind of game that brings smiles to the faces of players young and old alike, coupled with a pleasingly peculiar sense of humor. Conga Master is a shiny and surreal disco-ball glittering over the heads of our already hugely diverse portfolio of quality titles.”

“All our life we wanted to play a conga dancing game but nobody would make one… so we had to become developers to fulfil our dreams,” said David Jaumandreu, CEO of Undercoders. “When we saw that the jam version of Conga Master was ranked as the top 5 most fun game of Ludum Dare 34 (out of 1,600+ entries!), we knew we weren’t alone!”

Developed by Undercoders and published by Rising Star Games, Conga Master will release on September 14 on PC via Steam. Console versions will follow in early 2017. To find out more, follow Rising Star Games on Twitter and visit the official Rising Star Games website.
