Star Wars: Galactic Racer is Available Now!

The Galactic League is open to new pilots on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC

Guildford, UK – October 6, 2026: Fuse Games and Secret Mode, in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games, have today announced the launch of Star Wars: Galactic Racer. The critically acclaimed Star Wars™ runs-based racing adventure is now available on      PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, and Amazon Luna.

In Star Wars: Galactic Racer, elite pilots compete in the Galactic League, an underground racing circuit born in the lawless Outer Rim. Established by racing enthusiast Darius Pax, underhanded and well-connected racer Kestar Bool has become the Galactic League’s champion and will stop at nothing to maintain his grip on the title. With nowhere else to turn, Pax recruits Shade, a lone racer with a personal grudge against the Bool family, to enter the Galactic League and bring an end to Kestar’s reign before his corruption grows too deep to remove.

“We’re always looking for new ways to bring fans deeper into the Star Wars galaxy through original interactive stories, and Star Wars: Galactic Racer gave us a chance to explore the racing culture fans have loved for years while letting players live out the fantasy of piloting some of the franchise’s most iconic vehicles,” said Douglas Reilly, VP and GM, Lucasfilm Games. “We’re proud to have worked with Fuse and Secret Mode, whose love of Star Wars and passion for racing games helped create an original story-driven adventure that feels right at home in the galaxy.”

The title reflects Lucasfilm Games’ broader approach to create original stories for the interactive medium that delves deeper and goes beyond what fans have already experienced in a galaxy far, far away…. And by offering players a game that is easy to pick up, Star Wars: Galactic Racer provides new fans an easy entry point into one of the most iconic franchises while also catering to the existing fanbase.

“Three and a half years ago, Fuse Games was a handful of people with a big idea scrawled on a whiteboard. Today we launch our debut game, set in a galaxy far, far away. Building an experience at this scale as a small independent studio meant finding a different way to work, and different people to work with, at every step,” said Matt Webster, Co-Founder and CEO, Fuse Games. “We thank everyone involved who helped get us here, to the team at Secret Mode, and above all to Lucasfilm Games, for trusting our team with such a legendary galaxy. We can’t wait for players to enter the league and see the wonderful vehicle builds they create to get to the top.     ”

“It’s been an honor and privilege to work with Fuse and Lucasfilm Games on Star Wars: Galactic Racer. As a devoted Star Wars fan, I am so excited to see our players’ reaction to this amazing game. We’re thrilled to be bringing racing back to the Star Wars galaxy!”      said James Schall, Co-Founder and Chief Publishing Officer, Secret Mode.

Silent Hill: Townfall Review

Silent Hill: Townfall

Developer: Screen Burn
Publishers: Konami, Annapurna Interactive
Platform: PlayStation 5 (Reviewed), PC
Release Date: Available Now
Price: $49.99 USD – Available Here

Overview

After spending well over a decade keeping fans waiting for a revival of some sorts, Konami is now bringing out a Silent Hill game literally every year for the past couple of years, for better or worse but mostly for the better except in the case of The Short Message. Since then, not only have fans been treated to an incredibly well-done remake of Silent Hill 2 but also a completely unique take on the formula with Silent Hill f and now a new team is looking to put their own unique spin on things with Silent Hill: Townfall. Featuring a rarely used first-person perspective in the franchise and focusing more on stealth than anything else, is Silent Hill: Townfall worth it? Or is it simply borrowing the name of a franchise in an attempt to fit shoes far too large for the team to fit?

Story

Simon Ordell emerges from the waters just outside of the town of St. Amelia, an island town isolated from the rest of Scotland, with little memory of why he is there other than that he must find “her.” Simon is wearing a medical bracelet with his name on it as well as an IV bag on his upper arm that is running into his wrist. Upon venturing into the fog filled town it quickly becomes clear to Simon that something is wrong, between empty stalls in the main square and a strange phone call suddenly revealing that the world around him is also teeming with monsters and that the same town-square is also mourning a massive loss of life while protesting the very company Simon wears on his ballcap and vest, Simon must continue to search for his only clue, a girl named Zoe and the mysterious voice telling him to find her.

Using a mysterious handheld CRTV that is able to pick-up videos of other people and the past as well as highlight monsters nearby, Simon manages to meet with Zoe only to find out that she is experiencing the same mysterious circumstances, going through her own set of challenges while being criticized at every turn and navigating puzzles laid out before her by a strange force, all while suffering insult after insult and questions about her competency. As players swap between playing as Simon, Zoe, and a third character we won’t reveal here, they’ll eventually come to reveal what happened to the town and why these three are here within St. Amelia.

Generally when it comes to a Silent Hill game, players are expected to not understand various elements of the story or enemy types until near the end of the game or even after replaying it more than once in an attempt to keep the revelations as shocking as possible and maintain an air of mystery around what they are traveling through. Silent Hill: Townfall on the other hand is as subtle as a brick to the head. While it is entirely possible for some players to not understand what is happening, anyone familiar with the franchise, horror games in general, or even the way certain… disasters tend to be handled, which we can’t describe here for spoiler reasons, will immediately know what is happening within the first hour of the game’s fairly short run time of a little under ten hours the first time through.

This lack of subtlety runs throughout the entire narrative, between the various emails and notes that players will find scattered in the town, the signs plastered on walls warning residents about low supplies and protests, the IV fluid in Simon’s bag, and even the shockingly limited enemy designs. Throughout Simon’s adventure through St. Amelia players will continue to uncover various hints that they have already figured out, especially as they find themselves taking on the role of Zoe and seeing how her perspective of events play out and the interactions the characters have with one another as they meet and separate at oddly paced cutscenes.

This isn’t to say that Silent Hill: Townfall’s story is necessarily bad, it’s just not necessarily fitting for a Silent Hill game, nor does it really feel scary outside of the occasional jump scare provided  by a specific enemy type. It feels as if it was designed to be approached in the simplest manner possible narratively, tackling the various levels of guilt and trauma that each character has and manifesting them either through a constantly stalking enemy, mocking voices, and being stuck within a place that they are unable to escape, trying to tick off boxes required to fit in as part of the franchise. It is also worth noting that while the game does feature five different endings, including the signature dog and alien endings, these humorous endings are only available as New Game+ offerings while the primary three endings are instead dependent on how many enemies the players kill, revives used, the amount of information they find, and how many mistakes they make with a certain puzzle dictating a final tally that will result in one of the three endings.

Gameplay

As mentioned before, Silent Hill: Townfall is an entirely first-person game where players will need to navigate around the city of St. Amelia and the occasional time in the otherworld all while, most of the time, sneaking past and avoiding enemies wherever possible. The title features many stealth elements that those familiar with a certain alien game will be familiar with such as the ability to crouch and even peak around corners, peak down to shrink down further, or even peak over cover to keep an eye on a possible threat with the music rising the closer the player is to being seen by an enemy. Once discovered, players will either need to run and hide somewhere to avoid having to fight the enemy, either by breaking their line of sight or hiding in a half-open doorway, closet, or even into a building where they can lock the door, locking an enemy out until they lose interest, or kill the foe with whatever they have on hand.

Fighting in the game is fairly predictable but also not recommended as it is easy to become outnumbered and enemies deal quite a bit of damage and, in the case of grabbing enemies, don’t have any stagger window between grabs and being thrown off, meaning they can and will initiate the same attack three times in a row before players can try to strike. It is also worth noting that, at least initially, the plank weapon players use is quite fragile and loses durability for blocking and attacking, meaning having no melee weapon will require players to either hoof it or use their limited firearm if they have one at the time. The gunplay is simple, with players having a revolver that packs a punch and can even stun an annoying invulnerable enemy but alerts anything nearby, a flare gun that also does plenty of damage and can distract enemies, as well as a shotgun that is devastatingly powerful.

Ironically, by the second half of the game players will likely have so much ammo they can choose to ignore stealth almost entirely if they feel like it, which is a rather odd decision given the game is so focused on stealth that it avoids designing much else in the game’s world. Sure, players can break glass or trigger car alarms to draw enemies away from their usual patrol path or throw a brick or bottle at them to stun an enemy and run past, but nearly everything else in the game is as sterile and non-interactable as possible. Sifting through a home that seems like it may have useful items or collectables often results in little more than some gauze and nothing else, containing copy-pasted rooms and cabinet interiors from other houses and a slew of hiding places players may not need unless they are playing on the hardest difficulty or aiming for a no-kill run.

This design choice is all the stranger when players factor in the main CRTV and beeper components. As Simon players will use his CRTV to locate enemies in the environment and see their silhouettes through a red haze on the screen to know where they are and when to move to best avoid them, though simply using the map and also the player’s own eyes often works just as well, while Zoe’s beeper has little icons displaying where enemies are in direction to her, showing where she’ll need to keep an eye out when sneaking between locations and searching for what she needs to complete the next puzzle or reach a location.

One thing that is handled fairly well are the game’s puzzles. Each of these puzzles are quite intuitive and none of them feel “obtuse” just for the sake of it. Players will find various environmental clues and can even turn on hints if need be to highlight in documents what is important text, and other puzzles simply involve finding and slotting in the proper items as one would require, such as administering proper dosage going off of a laptop, inserting floppy discs and printing things out, etc. It is also nice to note that the game does use the CRTV in combination with the PlayStation 5’s DualSense motion controls to fiddle around with picking up fine tuned signals that either contain clues to a main puzzle or optional puzzle that will reward the player with extra ammo, healing items, and documents. It is worth noting that the game does want to turn auto-motion aiming on and it is terrible, so players will want to turn that off right away.

Audio & Visuals

Silent Hill: Townfall does deliver some gorgeous looking graphics when it comes to navigating the island town and, while minimal in their actual designs, the few enemy types that there are do look quite impressive at least. There is a certain level of dread that is provided, thanks mostly to the fog, in most locations but rarely feels particularly scary most likely due to how clean most elements of the game seem to be outside of a few specific locations, and these are usually narratively designed that way, along with a lack of gore and even minimal blood. It doesn’t help that, as mentioned before, many interior buildings throughout the town feature copy-pasted insides that see players navigating the same bathrooms and bedrooms or only featuring one small difference to try and make it stand out.

The voice work throughout the game is handled quite well with the English voice cast handling their characters well, though it is a bit odd that a game set in Scotland doesn’t have any Scottish voice actors or even accents. The background music is fairly fitting for the genre and does a fitting job portraying the danger players are in as they grow closer to being seen by an enemy and blowing their hiding spot.

Overall

It takes more than fog and a series of checked boxes to make a Silent Hill game and nowhere is that more evident than Silent Hill: Townfall. While it may feature the franchise’s signature name, its obvious storytelling and predictable developments will leave players wishing it was handled better. Combine that with some surprisingly solid puzzle work and the stealth focus that works quite well but also loses its meaning halfway through an already short runtime and Silent Hill: Townfall is a rare miss in Konami’s latest batch of hits with the franchise.

Digital Vortex Reveals Incremental Roguelite Horde-Builder I Am Plague

Upgrade a swarm of rats, lead them to freedom, conquest through 200+ dungeon levels

NICOSIA, Cyprus – 6 Oct 2026 – Publisher Digital Vortex (DREADMOOR, Tiny Eden) and developer Greedy Games today reveal I Am Plague, a dark, incremental roguelite about leading a mischief of rats through a treacherous dungeon, and announce the start of an open playtest that runs 6 – 20 October.

One rat alone is low-level adventure fodder. A mutated swarm of gnashing teeth and beady eyes? A nightmarish, extinction-level threat. Become the hivemind of thousands of rats, who for centuries have eked out a meager existence in the darkness far below humanity’s grand capital. Unnoticed by the people above, guide the horde up through more than 200 levels of the underground fortress, devouring every enemy crossing its path.

Combine destructive mutations to create powerful pestilential synergies. Reappropriate the remnants of fallen foes defeated in auto-combat. Add status effects to their claw swipes, gain more health from consuming foes, and grow protective bone armor. Explore and unlock the secrets of the fortress, including discovering new Visages: place enemy skulls atop the skittering mass of death to switch character classes and gain new abilities.

The pack starts out weak, and its initial ventures through the fortress will likely end in death. Return to the rats’ lair and make offerings to the Tree of Flesh and the Tree of Bones to permanently upgrade the colony’s base stats and unlock new mutations. The further the rats push toward the surface, the more options open up to specialize the swarm’s build on the next run. Rise as a feared Rat King in I Am Plague.

  • Venture into 200+ dungeon floors
  • Upgrade with 50+ mutations across multiple rarity tiers
  • Unlock permanent upgrades to your horde’s base stats
  • Harvest flesh and bones from new enemy types as you ascend, including new character classes
  • Explore Shops, text-based events, and branching routes
  • Defeat increasingly dangerous bosses

Prepare to Die: Guns of Eschaton Launches Demo Ahead of October Steam Next Fest

Cyprus – October 5, 2026 – The demo for Guns of Eschaton, the Western FPS Soulslike from developer Eschatology Entertainment and publisher 4Divinity, is available to download now on Steam. Players around the globe can venture onto the Hound’s Path ahead of the game’s participation in Steam Next Fest this October.

Historically-inspired firearms, specialized ammunition, timed parries, occult powers, talismans, and consumables all form the gunslinger’s arsenal. Players will also be able to use the Codex to reveal enemy weaknesses, which just might help the gunslinger live to see another day.

The demo launches today and will remain available through Steam Next Fest, taking place from October 19 – October 26. Those ready to brave the Weird West (or die trying) can download the demo on Steam now.

‘Halloween: The Game’ Reveals First of Many DLCs – The Hunt Arrives to New Map ‘Tower Farm,’ New Michael Myers Skins Coming October 27, 2026

Content will include a new free map and the option to buy new Michael skins, new Civilian characters, and a very special Halloween Costume pack!

LAKEWOOD, CO – Oct. 5, 2026 – Developer and publisher IllFonic, alongside co-publisher Gun Interactive and their partners Compass International Pictures and Further Front, today unveil upcoming new content for asymmetrical stealth horror Halloween: The Game. The teams also share the roadmap outline for the first year of post-launch support.

Now that players have had their hands on Michael Myers as he appeared in the film that started it all, “John Carpenter’s Halloween,” we are excited to share that we have partnered with Trancas International Films, Inc., and MIRAMAX to license new versions of Michael. On October 27, 2026, players can purchase the version of Michael from “Halloween 5: The Return of Michael Myers,” and the version of Michael from “Halloween 2018,” which mask design is being supervised by Academy Award winner Christopher Nelson, who sculpted the mask for the recent and highly successful trilogy of “Halloween 2018,” “Halloween Kills,” and “Halloween Ends.”

In addition, a new map will be added for all players who purchased the game, inspired by the settings of “Halloween 5” – The Tower Farm Map – where worn country roads meet at the center of a small, quaint farming community just outside of Haddonfield. A lit filling station anchors the new map, providing Civilians a reference point as they scramble across wide roads and through cornfields. While the map’s open nature helps with navigation, it also creates a no-man’s land where Civilians can become easy prey. Hide in roadside ditches to stay out of sight, then pray for the perfect moment for a harrowing sprint to safety.

Farmhouses replace suburban homes, shifting the feel and flow of 1v4 multiplayer matches. Farm equipment, hay bales, and overgrown brush turn every yard into a twisted playground for Michael Myers to attack. Barns, sheds, and houses give Civilians a chance to escape, catch their breath, and have a chance at evading the Boogeyman.

A harvest festival, trailer park, and pumpkin-filled gardens bring the new map to autumnal life, lit by the last light of a setting sun. A basement chase or a sprint through the pumpkin patch can go either way: seek new hiding spots and exits while Michael finds fresh ways to stalk his prey.  In addition to the new Tower Farm map and two Michael Myers skins, we will also be introducing two new Civilians, a very special Halloween costume pack, and more in the first of a series of post-launch content updates for Halloween: The Game that will be carried out across the first year.

“1978 was only the beginning,” said Jared Gerritzen, Chief Creative Officer, IllFonic. “With the Tower Farm map, we take the terror of that first event in Haddonfield into somewhere wide open, where there’s nowhere to hide except in the dark – where Michael Myers truly comes to life.”

October 27th Drop Includes:

DLC: Michael Skins – $9.99 Each

  • Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers – $9.99
  • Halloween (2018) – $9.99

DLC: Civilian Characters Pack – $9.99 for Both

  • Michelle (Female) and Eugene (Male)

The update also brings the extreme difficulty of Extinction Mode to the World War Z x The Walking Dead crossover DLC episode. • Pillbox: You cannot be grabbed while aiming with the MAG5 machinegun.

  • White Phosphorus: MRL202 Commando rocket launchers are loaded with white phosphorus, affecting a large area and setting all enemies within radius on fire – all without leaving a burning puddle!

The Waves of Lead update also introduces five new mutators:

  • Paranoid’s Reserves: Available as a permanent mutator, equipment crates may be booby-trapped
  • All-In: The maximum health of all survivors and zombies becomes equal to one, and the overall time to return to combat is cut in half. Survivors can be incapacitated for an unlimited number of times, and getting back on their feet is faster!
  • Let Them Dance: Zekes take increased damage from any shot to the legs and reduced damage from hits to the rest of the body

Cambridge, UK – Monday, 5th October 2026 – RuneFest, the world’s biggest celebration of the RuneScape franchise returned to Birmingham this weekend with a schedule packed full of exciting announcements and premiere reveals of brand-new content coming to RuneScape, Old School RuneScape and RuneScape: Dragonwilds.

This year’s event, the largest RuneFest yet, welcomed over 6,000 fans to the NEC, Birmingham, was opened with an orchestral performance from the Manchester Video Game orchestra who were joined on stage by Mod Ash and delighted the audience with a performance of iconic RuneScape themes and songs.

Headlining RuneFest was the first glimpse of an ambitious new chapter for RuneScape: a fourth RuneScape MMO, built for a new generation of players. Still early in development, the as-yet-unnamed title will bring the world of Gielinor to life in Unreal Engine, combining the depth, freedom and community-led spirit that have defined RuneScape for 25 years with the technology and game design possibilities of today.

Additionally, Jagex unveiled plans to expand RuneScape beyond games, partnering with creator and internet phenomenon, Charlie White aka MoistCr1TiKaL as well as acclaimed LA Based production business Lyrical Media, to bring the world, characters and stories of Gielinor to life in a new exciting animated adaption.

Finally major updates were revealed for the RuneScape games themselves, with each team unveiling ambitious roadmaps and plans for the year ahead.

RuneScape

  • 25 years in the making, RuneScape Reignited launches December 2, marking a defining moment for the game — inviting players old and new to return together, rediscover RuneScape and experience it as it was always meant to be. Through the Remastered Journey and Adventure Guide, alongside a fresh economy, brand-new hi scores and a focus on player first. Reignited gives players the ultimate RuneScape experience.

  • The long-awaited Plugin API is launching in October, with players getting an early hands-on ahead of official release.
  • 2027 content will unfolds in three landmark story arcs, all of which tie into long-running storylines — Hoard of Dragons (kicking off January) offers a sequel to the popular Dragon Slayer quest, City of Gnomes continues the gnome storyline, first stated in 2002 and Secrets of Karamja which introduces a new end game raid. These arcs weave together RuneScape’s 2027 content into three distinct story narratives and also include an Agility skill rework, new skilling and solo bosses, new area expansions and a new Grandmaster Quest!
  • More details on the above as well as plans for the ongoing “Road to Restoration” quality of life updates can be found in this newspost at rs.game/RuneFest2026Recap

  • Hardcore Worlds launching on November 4: Death brings players a brand-new challenge with Hardcore Worlds, discover a new game economy, play alongside your favourite creators in factions, feel the prestige of a world first in a difficult game mode and most importantly… whatever you do, stay alive
