Akiba’s Trip: Hellbound & Debriefed Announced for the West

XSEED Games has announced that they will be bringing the original Akiba’s Trip Plus, which was released on the PSP in Japan back in 2012, to the West for the PlayStation 4 and PC where it will now be named Akiba’s Trip: Hellbound & Debriefed.

Akiba’s Trip: Hellbound & Debriefed completely rebuilds the first title in a modern engine, bringing back the beat-’em-up, strip-’em-down gameplay fans know and love while accurately rendering Akihabara, Japan’s geek paradise, from circa 2012 in HD. Currently no release window has been given for when fans of the series can expect this game to be released but a small batch of English screenshots accompanied the announcement and you can find those below.

Viz Media has announced that they are continuing their partnership with Rose City Games to help bring a brand new feline-style flavored indie game to consoles. The title is a supernatural action game called Cat Lady and currently details on what to expect from the game are a bit slim as no consoles have been confirmed at the moment but the game itself will involve playing as Ally Marie who arrives at her Grandmother’s mansion only to find that an ancient evil has taken hold of it.

Only through her own abilities and her grandmother’s many cats can she try and set things right. You can check out a teaser trailer for the game below and keep an eye out for more details in the future.

It’s a great day for PC gamers, as Octopath Traveler is now available on Steam. The game is priced at $59.99 USD or $89.95 AUD. Originally, the game was a Switch exclusive, where it earned praise for bringing old school JRPG charms to a modern platform with its hybrid of 2D sprites and 3D visuals.

Minecraft: Story Mode to be Delisted on June 25

Last month we learned that multiple Telltale Games series would be removed from GoG and now it looks like Minecraft: Story Mode is about to be removed entirely from any platforms it is still available on. The official Minecraft website has announced that both Minecraft: Story Mode Season One and Minecraft: Story Mode Season Two will be discontinued on June 25th as a result of Telltale Games’ closure. In a bit of a unique twist however, the company is informing everyone that should they want to ever play these episodes in the future if they have purchased them, that they should download all episodes now as they will apparently not be available for download past this date.

This marks a rather unique form of removal as usually games can still be downloaded even after being removed from the store so if you happen to own these episodes digitally or previously purchased a physical edition that required some episodes to be downloaded, do so now before the 25th or potentially lose them forever.

Shenmue III Now Releasing November 19

Ys Net and Deep Silver have announced that Shenmue III will no longer be releasing on August 27th but will now be releasing on November 19th for the PlayStation 4 and PC with the publisher squashing rumors of an Xbox One release through Twitter.

The reason given for the delay is that “Whilst almost ready, the game simply needs a little more refinement before being truly finished. We feel that the extra time we have will help us deliver the true Shenmue experience players around the world deserve.” In this third installment of the epic Shenmue series, Ryo seeks to solve the mystery behind the Phoenix Mirror, an artifact sought after by his father’s killer. His journey takes him to an immersive representation of rural China, brimming with activity and surrounded by beautiful landscapes.
