‘Song of The Elves’ is the climactic conclusion to a 17-year-long quest series and brings an entire crystal city to Old School RuneScape today.

The legendary elven city of Prifddinas comes to Old School – watch the launch trailer at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gaKv0ARHTy8

Thursday 25th July 2019, Cambridge, UK – The world of Old School RuneScape has expanded with today’s release Song of the Elves, a Grandmaster level quest finale that concludes the oldest and longest storyline in RuneScape history.

The Elf Quest series began in 2002 with Plague City, a novice-level quest, which marked the beginning of RuneScape’s first ever storyline. Seventeen years later Song of the Elves’s arrival in Old School RuneScape sees adventurers’ team up with characters from across the series to finally put an end to the schemes of Lord Iorwerth and King Lathas and bring peace to the evergreen lands.

John Colgrave, Product Manager, Jagex:

Song of the Elves is yet another major release for Old School RuneScape, and one of the game’s most significant content updates, following its surge in popularity thanks to the legions of mobile players joining desktop players. The launch of Prifddinas highlights the symbiotic relationship between Old School and RuneScape and is a great example of how the two games influence each other. Originally released in 2014, Prifddinas has been given an ‘Old School’ overhaul and the time has arrived to hand the keys of the elven city to our players”.

Completing the questline grants players access to the long-awaited and highly anticipated crystal city of Prifddinas. For years, this city has sat untouched on the Old School RuneScape map, only now will the secrets of this area be uncovered. Within the city among the bustling shops and robust resources, players can explore a vast range of new content. The main attractions being The Gauntlet, a challenging PvM minigame; and Zalcano, a brand-new demon skilling boss. Players successful in completing these challenges can unlock all-new crystal armour, tools and the legendary Blade of Saeldor.

Heavy Metal Machines Gets Even More Serious with the Launch of ‘Ranked Mode’

Heavy Metal Machines Gets Even More Serious with the Launch of ‘Ranked Mode’

New update now live in the free-to-play vehicle combat PC MOBA, bringing a challenging mode to test your skills against other players and a different way to play with a game pad

Florianopolis, Brazil – July 25, 2019 – Hoplon, the developers behind post-apocalyptic car-combat MOBA, Heavy Metal Machines, today announced the launch of its new in-game ranked mode.

Contributing to another aspect of Heavy Metal Machine’s competitive universe, the ‘Ranked Mode’ focuses on the individual performance of each player, which was previously provided by the Leaderboard. ‘Ranked Mode’ is a special match search queue, separated from Casual Mode, in which the matches played are accounted for an individual player score. The score is calculated with each player being placed in a Division; Bronze, Silver, Gold and Heavy Metal.

Ranked Mode will be divided into seasons, with each season lasting a few months. At the end of the season, players will receive exclusive in-game rewards according to the highest Division they reached during the current season. To enter the new mode, players need to have at least five completed matches in their game account (custom matches do not count).

In addition to the new ranked mode, Heavy Metal Machines can now be played with a Game Pad, allowing players to have more choice with how they want to play, whether it’s with the keyboard and mouse, or a controller.

The gamepad will expand the accessibility of Heavy Metal Machines, and now new players that already enjoy racing games with a gamepad will be able to jump straight in with ease.

Rodrigo Campos, CEO commented: “We are thrilled to be announcing the new Ranked Mode for players, and the reintroduction of game pad support. With Heavy Metal Machines, we feel there is a playstyle for each individual, and with the new ranking system this allows each player to shine. Our tournaments are open to all, no matter their skill level, so there’s no excuse not to just invite your friends and team up, to take on the competition.”

The fifth season of the Metal League starts on 10th August 2019 and features seasonal tournaments with weekly qualifiers stages which are open to all player with no entry fees. For more information about the Metal League and to find out how to take part please visit the website http://blog.heavymetalmachines.com/en/2019/03/07/patch-notes-the-metal-league-has-arrived/

French Destroyers sighted! Major update brings new ship line in Early Access to World of Warships

French Destroyers sighted! Major update brings new ship line in Early Access to World of Warships

Update 0.8.6  introduces French Destroyers, new missions and map

25th July 2019 – Developer and publisher Wargaming has launched the new major update 0.8.6. for its popular naval combat game World of Warships. The update gives players the opportunity to unlock the upcoming French Destroyers early through new directives and missions. The first update of the French arc also comes with a brand new map and new seasons of Clan and Ranked Battles.

A new trailer illustrating the French Destroyers is available here

The update 0.8.6. celebrates the French Navy, adding Directives with great rewards at stake for players who complete them, including the opportunity to unlock the Tier V Premium French Destroyer Siroco and earn exclusive containers. Alongside signals and original camouflages, these containers will have a chance to unlock a special mission which, upon completion, will award players with one of the brand new French Destroyers, available in Early Access with this month’s update: the Jaguar (Tier V), the Guépard (Tier VI), the Vauquelin (Tier VII), and Le Fantasque (Tier VIII).

This month’s update also brings a new look for the Port of Marseille, which has been redecorated for the occasion and now features a myriad of hot-air balloons bearing the French colours. Many ships will be marked with the Symbol of France, offering players either Coal or Republic Tokens, a new temporary resource, for their first victory aboard these ships. These tokens can be exchanged for four consecutive bundles featuring a wealth of in-game items. Once players have obtained all these bundles, 30 new ones will be made available in exchange for doubloons, with one of them immediately unlocking the Tier IX French Destroyer, the Mogador.

The embodiment of naval ambush predators, French Destroyers compensate their lack of Smoke Generator by a specific distribution of HP making them surprisingly resilient, their  manoeuvrability and a higher speed than their counterparts, further enhanced through an upgraded Engine Boost consumable. Agility is not the only strength of these ships, as they enjoy at high Tiers comfortable ballistics, devastating Armor Piercing shells and have access to the Main Battery Reload Booster consumable, significantly increasing their damage output for a short time. In the right conditions, the French Destroyers’ firepower and survivability allow them to inflict considerable damage to even larger ships such as cruisers, making them able to surprise and take out threats that would otherwise prove fatal.

The update 0.8.6. also introduces the brand new Crash Zone Alpha map to the game. Inspired by the white cliffs of Dover, this map is available for Tier VIII to Tier X battles in Domination mode in two versions, with three and four key areas respectively. The map will be particularly interesting to Clan Battles fans, as the home key areas of the teams will be located close to each other, inciting prospective commanders to reconsider their usual strategies.

The update comes with loads of improvements and modifications, including new seasons of Ranked and Clan Battles, a new sunny weather for the Greece map, and balance changes.

The team has also announced the long-awaited Italian Navy and its Cruiser line, as well as the upcoming launch of the new European nation in closed testing. This nation will have three ships available at first: the Viribus Unitis (Austria-Hungary, Tier V), the Błyskawica (Poland, Tier VII) and the Friesland (Netherlands, Tier IX).

Omega Labyrinth Life and Labyrinth Life Release in the West August 1

In something of a surprise, but still quite pleasant, move D3 Publisher has announced that not only will Omega Labyrinth Life and Labyrinth Life be released in Asia and Japan on August 1st but it will also be releasing in all other regions on that same day. While the Western version of these two games will only be available digitally compared to their retail and digital counterparts in Japan and Asia, this comes as a surprise given how the series has been treated in the past.

Now it is interesting to note that there are some notable differences between these two games despite the fact that the story, setting, and most gameplay features remain the same. Both games are roguelikes set at Belles Fleurs Academy. The school is supposed to have a garden that will always be in bloom. However, when Hinata transfers to the school, she finds that all of the flowers have died. She must go dungeon-crawling with her classmates to restore the garden. Two characters can go into a dungeon at a time, a leader and a supporter.

While these elements remain the same it is worth noting that the Switch game, Omega Labyrinth Life, features uncensored hot spring segments, the ability to take part in “touch events” and armor break illustrations for the heroines in the game while the PlayStation 4 Labyrinth Life has removed these features to fit with Sony’s censorship policies.

Astral Chain Overview Trailer

With Astral Chain set to be released in a little over a month Nintendo has released a new Japanese trailer for the game that gives us a general overview of various elements of Platinum Games‘ new action RPG. Humanity’s last chance against an interdimensional invasion is a special living weapon called the Legion. As a rookie officer in the elite police task force Neuron, you and your Legion will work together to solve cases and save humankind.

Players can control the protagonist and a special weapon called a Legion simultaneously, building stylish combos by using both characters in tandem. There are multiple Legions in the game, each with different combat styles and abilities. Players can even strategically change between Legions at will during real-time battles. You can find the video below and keep an eye out for the game when it is released on the Nintendo Switch on August 30th.
