CALL OF DUTY LEAGUE REVEALS FIRST DETAILS OF 2020 COMPETITION

Call of Duty’s First City-Based League to Begin Home vs. Away Match Play in Early 2020

Oct. 21 , 2019, Activision Blizzard Esports officially reveals details for the new Call of Duty LeagueTM. The League is scheduled to begin home-vs-away 5-versus-5 professional match play in early 2020 with 12 teams in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Florida, London, Los Angeles (2), Minnesota, New York, Paris, Seattle, and Toronto, in addition to select League-run major events throughout the season.

Each team in the league will host two ‘home series’ weekend events in their respective markets in 2020, one in a Spring split and a second in a Summer split. Multiple pro teams will compete at each home series event, giving fans a wide range of must-see competition throughout the weekend. In between the Spring andSummer splits, the League will host a special Call of Duty League Midseason Weekend event where all 12 teams will be featured in special all-pro tournaments and more.

Professional regular season competition will feature best-of-five-matches series played in Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare on Playstation®4. Pro teams with the best win-loss records will advance to the postseason, where they will compete in a double elimination Playoffs until the season champion is crowned. Playoff berths will include 2 wild card slots, and both the Playoffs and Championship matches will take place at the Call of Duty League Championship Weekend in Summer 2020.

In addition to pro play, the League will continue to foster the growth and development of emerging player talent with Call of Duty ChallengersTM, its amateur path to pro competition system. Call of Duty Challengers will include online ladders, online tournaments, and open tournament event competitions throughout the year beginning in November 2019, with a dedicated prize pool of over $1 million. Several Call of Duty League pro teams will also support amateur player pipeline development by hosting Call of Duty Challengers competitions in their markets. More details regarding amateur events can be found on CallofDutyLeague.com.

Fans will also be able to compete on behalf of their cities, in a new, casual competition system called the Call of Duty League City CircuitTM. In the City Circuit, fans can compete on behalf of their pro team cities through online or LAN (local area network) tournaments held exclusively by the 12 Call of Duty League teams. This fan-focused competitive circuit – set to launch later in

2020 – will feature a duos-based format in the Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare mode “Gunfight.” Call of Duty League City Circuit carries its own prize pool and will culminate in a finals event at the Call of Duty League Championship Weekend.

Call of Duty League’s vision is to engage fans in dynamic ways across all 12 team markets and beyond. Home Series Weekends will showcase the best Call of Duty esports players in the world as well as the unique energy and passion of teams’ local fanbases.

“It is an honor to introduce the Call of Duty League, built to reimagine what esports can be,” said Johanna Faries, Commissioner of the Call of Duty League. “We’ve partnered with top-tier organisations who share our commitment to supporting the best players in the world and to entertain fans in unique ways. Together, we seek to bring incredible experiences to our pro, amateur, and fan communities, and to blaze new trails for the future of sports entertainment.”

A New Campaign and Updates arrive for World of Warships: Legends

A New Campaign and Updates arrive for World of Warships: Legends

The Hunt for Atago begins, French Battleships are unleashed, and the Saving Transylvania event is on the horizon!

October 21, 2019 – A giant update is arriving today for World of Warships: Legends, bringing a new campaign focused on a powerful new premium ship! Players will also see the full release of French Battleships, changes to the Commander system, and the upcoming Saving Transylvania operation.

Players can start on their way through the Hunt for Atago campaign to earn the heavy cruiser Atago. This ship is a premium Tier VII Japanese cruiser that seems to have an answer for everything: powerful guns, excellent torpedoes, enough speed and armor to get through any battle, and a repair party to boot. To earn the Atago, players will need Admiralty Backing which also quadruples the value of the rewards from the campaign. The Hunt for Atago campaign has been redesigned to provide better rewards, improving the progression experience.

The French Battleships are also fully released out of their early access phase. They are interesting beasts with some peculiar traits. For example, they often carry smaller weapons than their counterparts; however, they make up for their gun size in sheer shell output—the Tier VI Lyon carries an absurd Sixteen guns in signature quadruple-gun turrets! They are very adaptable battleships, applying speed and weaponry to good effect on the high seas.

Players will find it easier to get the commanders they need for their ships! Commander packs will always provide players with a new commander, unless they already have them all. This change will reduce the randomness of obtaining these admirals, making it easier to get the perfect captain for the new French Battleships. Commanders will also make their way into the store so players have the opportunity to purchase them with Commander Experience.

The first-ever PvE operation in World of Warships: Legends, Saving Transylvania, is rapidly approaching. The operation will start on October 26th, when players will find three peculiar ships in their port: Jackal, Blade, and Igor. These ships will only be available for the operation, only to take on the Rasputin. Players will have to navigate through these treacherous waters while fighting off enemy Zikasa ships, catapults, and the dreaded Rasputin. Players will have to protect the Transylvania as they fight through this swarm of enemies. Once players manage to complete the operation there are hefty rewards waiting for them!

This update isn’t only about new campaigns and spooky operations, it comes with the first premium ship available entirely for Global Experience—Alabama! This Tier VII American Battleship is a monster, able to shrug off the mightiest of blows. The Alabama is obtainable for every player and provides the same bonuses as a Tier VII premium ship. There’s a bunch of new quality of life improvements too: In-game notifications, more detailed post-battle economic statistics, ship trait descriptions, and a bunch of bug fixes.

There are always new things coming from World of Warships: Legends, with more on the way!

Fallout 76 Wastelanders Expansion Delayed to 2020

Earlier this year it was revealed that Fallout 76 would be getting a nice shot in the arm in the form of the “New Wastelanders” expansion that would bring life back to the world sometime in the fall but now that is no longer the case. Bethesda has announced that the “biggest free update yet” will now be coming in the first quarter of 2020 as the team “needs more time to be the best, most polished update it can be.”

It wasn’t all bad news however as Bethesda did say that “Private Worlds” that allow players to only play with their friends in a server rather than jumping into a random one, will be launching next week. Alongside that however was the news that there will now be some “non-cosmetic” microtransactions coming in the future and while they don’t want to “upset the game’s balance” no details were given at the time.
