Future Plans for Hunt: Showdown

Future Plans for Hunt: Showdown

Crytek name Koch Media Publisher of their online multi-player bounty hunting game for Xbox One and PS4, announce PS4 release date and upcoming content.

Sydney (Australia), January 17, 2020 – Hunt: Showdown is getting a new publisher! Today Crytek announced that Koch Media will act as Hunt: Showdown’s publisher on PlayStation® 4 and Xbox One moving forward. Koch Media is responsible for both the global retail and digital releases of the game on these platforms. The extended partnership follows Koch Media’s successful retail release of Hunt: Showdown for PC in 2019. Crytek will continue to develop Hunt: Showdown, and act as publisher for the PC version on Steam. The two companies will be working together closely to deliver the best possible gaming experience across all platforms.

Alongside this news, Crytek and Koch Media revealed that Hunt: Showdown will be available on PlayStation®4 on February 18 2020.

“With Koch handling the publishing side of things, our development team can put all of their focus on continuing to develop and optimize Hunt across platforms, together with our community,” said Crytek CEO Avni Yerli. “While we focus on development, Koch will apply their immense digital and retail publishing expertise to the title, supporting the game’s continued growth. We can’t wait to see what PlayStation players think of the game, and to continue to bring new content to all our players in the coming year.”

“Hunt: Showdown is a unique game, that all of us here at Koch Media who already supported the PC retail release have a lot of fun playing,” added Koch Media CEO, Dr. Klemens Kundratitz. “The feedback we see from the PC community and the high quality standards of the game underline our confidence in the global release on PS4 and Xbox.”

In the next year, players can expect even more content to be added to Hunt: Showdown via the regular updates that the game has delivered throughout its lifespan. Update 1.2 is slated to bring random teams of three, an advanced tutorial, new Legendary Hunters, and new equipment and weapons across the board. Players can also expect server-side performance improvements, client CPU performance fixes, and a number of other general bug fixes.

Looking beyond Update 1.2, Hunt: Showdown will see even bigger updates arriving, including cross-play between Xbox and PlayStation, a Solo PvE mode, live-events, outfit customisation, and a new map.

About Hunt: Showdown

Hunt: Showdown is a competitive first-person bounty hunting game that packs the thrill of survival games into a match-based format. Set in Louisiana in 1895, the game boasts a mixture of PvP and PvE elements that creates a uniquely tense experience. It’s not just the creatures who are a threat—it’s every Hunter on the map. In the classic game mode, a match of Hunt pits 12 players—playing solo or in teams of two or teams of three —against each other as they race to take out gruesome beasts for a bounty they must collect and get off of the map, while Hunt’s quickplay mode offers a shorter match for solo players to scavenge for weapons as they compete for a diminishing pool of bounty. The higher the risk, the higher the reward–but a single mistake could cost everything. Hunt is available now on Steam. For more information, visit https://www.huntshowdown.com/.

About the Metro series:

In 2013 the world was devastated by an apocalyptic event, annihilating almost all mankind and turning the earth’s surface into a poisonous wasteland. A handful of survivors took refuge in the depths of the Moscow underground, and human civilization entered a new Dark Age.

The year is 2033. An entire generation has been born and raised underground, and their besieged Metro Station-Cities struggle for survival, with each other, and the mutant horrors that await outside. You are Artyom, born in the last days before the fire, but raised underground. Having never ventured beyond the city limits, one fateful event sparks a desperate mission to the heart of the Metro system, to warn the remnants of mankind of a terrible impending threat.

But will they even listen? Rather than stand united, the factions of the Metro are locked in a struggle for the ultimate power, a doomsday device from the military vaults of D6. A civil war is stirring that could wipe humanity from the face of the earth forever.

Key Features:

  • Immerse yourself in the Moscow Metro – witness one of the most atmospheric worlds in gaming brought to life on Nintendo Switch
  • Brave the horrors of the Russian apocalypse – equip your gasmask and an arsenal of hand-made weaponry as you face the threat of deadly mutants, human foes, and the terrifying environment itself
  • Two campaigns, and all DLC included – Metro Redux includes two complete campaigns that combine to create one epic solo adventure, plus a further 10 hours of bonus content.
  • Two unique Play Styles: ‘Spartan’ and ‘Survival’ – approach the campaign as a slow burn Survival Horror, or tackle it with the combat skills of a Spartan Ranger in these two unique modes

BUILD YOUR FORCES WITH NEW DIPLOMACY FEATURES IN ROMANCE OF THE THREE KINGDOMS XIV

BUILD YOUR FORCES WITH NEW DIPLOMACY FEATURES IN ROMANCE OF THE THREE KINGDOMS XIV

Develop Relations with Foreign Units, Forge an Alliance, and Overthrow Them to Lead Your Allies to Victory

Hertfordshire, 16th January 2020 – KOEI TECMO Europe revealed the diplomacy and plot gameplay features for their greatly-anticipated strategy game, Romance of The Three Kingdoms XIV (RTK14). The return of the iconic franchise is set to launch across the West on the 28th February 2020 for the PlayStation®4 Computer Entertainment System and digitally on Windows PC via Steam®.

In RTK14, it’s important to have a large number of forces surrounding you, and actively pursuing relations with allies and the opposition is required to succeed in battle. ‘Goodwill’ with another army can be improved through gifts such as gold, supplies, or speciality goods — and as goodwill increases, relations will improve with a possibility of forming an alliance. Forming an alliance prevents the player from attacking their new partners or conquering their territory, but at the same time allows them to maintain their supply lines while passing through ally territory. As the bond between the forces deepen, players can even request their ally to attack an opponent to help improve any dire situation. If an alliance isn’t working, or no longer useful, it can be annulled allowing the forces to be separated.

Additionally, players can take advantage of ally units by using ‘Plots’. As the game progresses, this becomes a key way to weaken an enemy force. RTK14 offers players a total of five types of schemes: Hidden Poison, Estrange, Placation, Unattended Home and Dual Destruction – allowing different strategies to be used depending on the situation at hand. Hidden Poison lowers the development and public order of the targeted Force, and can cause bandits from foreign tribes to appear. Estrange lowers the loyalty of the target officer through bad rumours about their Ruler. Placation targets the people of free areas, or areas under the control of other forces, in order to gain control of the area core. Unattended Home incites a viceroy or governor into leaving their current Force and going it along. Finally, Dual Destruction spreads damaging rumours about one Force within the territory of another. The success of any of these schemes can have a massive impact on the overall battle situation, though failure can cause relations with the affected force to grow considerably worse.

Increasing relations with foreign units is also important as only non-enemy units can be forced to surrender. Using the ‘Foreign’ function, players can request the return of captured officers as well as use the Order Surrender command. Careful planning and preparation are required to ensure that a surrender is successful.

Romance of The Three Kingdoms XIV is now available to pre-order on Windows PC via Steam®! Those who wish to pre-order physically on PlayStation 4 can also pre-order at GAME and independent retailers through Centresoft. Those who purchase any version of the game within the first 2 weeks of launch will be able to download the additional scenario ‘Battle of Yiling’ for free.

KOEI TECMO Europe also released a brand-new gameplay trailer today, alongside Episode 3 of their Developer Diary series, to offer fans a deeper insight into the development of the renowned series, with Producer Echigoya-san.

Railway Empire Review

Railway Empire

Developer: Gaming Minds Studios
Publisher: Kalypso Media Digital
Platforms: PlayStation 4Switch, Xbox OneWindows (Reviewed)
Release Date: 13 Dec 2019
Price: $49,99USD – Available Here

Overview

It’s not an easy task to find a new strategy/sim game when you’re being this picky. Up until now, I have spent hundreds of hours in Sid Meier’s Civilization V and before that (and I mean waaaay before that), I played Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2. And that was pretty much it. I have something new in front of me, a neat product called Railway Empire. No countries to conquer or bases to build but the strategy element certainly seems to be there. Let’s see if this one manages to slide into my super exclusive club of strategy/RTS/sim games that I enjoy playing.

Story

Hm, story. Should I say story or stories? Once we boot up the game, we are greeted with an infomercial cutscene about trains, train tracks, and train stations and the history surrounding them. You know, just so you don’t forget what game we’re playing. Other than that, there isn’t much of an overarching story in the Railway Empire. However, you have multiple preset scenarios at your disposal consisting of building stations and connecting cities. In any case, you’re on your own.

Gameplay

Railway Empire hides a lot under the hood. Your initial task is to connect a few cities (with train tracks, of course) and bring prosperity to the glorious land of US and A. That is until the other Railway tycoons start going for your throat. So now instead of managing our empire all over the USA, we have to watch out for the competitors and try our best to establish our presence in various cities before them. So what is that thing under the hood that I mentioned above? Railway Empire is a surprisingly serene experience. Once I connected the first few cities and watched by trains go from point A to point B, I found myself being distracted by the scenery. Nature, the mountains and the cities. Sometimes it’s just enough to zoom in on your train(s) and follow them as they go. Track laying mechanic is the most intuitive piece of work I’ve ever seen. While you connect the cities and train stations to one another, you can curve and swerve the train tracks around hills, rocks, and ponds with simple gestures of a mouse. And that’s one of the beauties of this game. While there is a lot to learn to really master the game, every step is well explained and easy to replicate. Whenever you feel like you are stuck in your skirmish play (or a scenario), there are occasional info bubbles above the cities or train stations to carefully nudge you in what direction to play the game next. Think of it as a subtle neverending tutorial.

Visuals

What’ interesting is for that “train zen” moment to work properly, we also need sufficient power. And power indeed we have. You have a whole USA map at your disposal with cities and train stations that you can zoom in on immediately but nothing is lost visually in that process. Railway Empire has the same level of details from the overview map to the point of zooming on the individual moving trains. Sometimes I felt like a careless NPC tycoon from Red Dead Redemption, just minding my own business with trains and tracks, completely oblivious to the destruction beyond my world. The immersion is there, alright.

Audio

While you definitely aren’t alone while puffing and whistling with trains through the landscapes of Railway Empire, I’d often find myself just turning off the game music and playing my own that goes better with the game. Nothing against it, except that it’s a bit repetitive after a while with almost the same motives through all the tracks. I found that the playlist(s) from Fallout New Vegas worked way better from my train managing skills in that regard. As for audio, nothing there required changing. We are going back to that serene part again, enjoying the chirping of the birds and various sounds of the landscape around us while we’re on the way to the next city.

Overall

Railway Empire feels like a game that doesn’t really try to sell itself. At all. Instead, it just sits there on a shelf (or in your hard drive), waiting for you patiently to discover it. Then, it lulls you in with a user-friendly interface, superb audio atmosphere, and a great (but never too exhausting) learning curve. The rest is up to you. If you feel like scratching that strategy itch and you’re not in the mood for constant city burning, pillaging, and political backstabbing, the Railway Empire might just be a fresh cup of tea you need.

Cyberpunk 2077 Delayed Until September 17

Many were expecting some delays for the plethora of games that are set to be released this March and April and while one already saw a small delay, this time around Cyberpunk 2077 has suffered a fairly lengthy one as CD Projekt RED has announced that the game is now being delayed from its originally scheduled release date of April 16th back to September 17th.

The reason given for the delay, coming from CD Projekt RED co-founder Marcin Iwinski and head of studio Adam Badowski, is that while the game is complete and playable, “there’s still some work to be done.” This delay is due to the massive nature of the game and that “due to the sheer scale and complexity of it all, we need more time to finish playtesting, fixing and polishing.” Cyberpunk 2077 is still set to be released for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC with a Stadia version also in the works.
