Adventures of Pip Celebrates a Land of Pixels Today on Nintendo Switch

BURBANK, Calif. – September 10, 2020 – Adventures of Pip, the charming retro-inspired platformer from Tic Toc Games where a single pixel evolves (and devolves!) between three forms to become a hero, launches today on Nintendo Switch with updated features, optimizations, and quality-of-life improvements.

Set forth on a grand adventure as digital underdog Pip to save the land of Pixelonia from the evil Queen DeRezzia. Pip’s prophesied powers enable him to evolve from a single pixel all the way to a heroic 16-bit sprite. Transform between three equally awesome forms, traverse five themed worlds, save abducted villagers, and fulfill Pip’s destiny to rescue the princess.

Trek through beautiful stages like the Lava Labyrinth and Galena Caverns all while trampling Queen DeRezzia’s minions. Learn the art of weaving between Pip’s different forms in order to master every level. Glide through the air and slip through small chasms as 1-bit Pip, leap off walls, climb ledges, and punch baddies as 8-bit Pip, then cut down enemies and obstacles as the sword-wielding 16-bit Pip.

Search high and low for secrets, including 108 kidnapped villagers hidden throughout the world.Along the way, gather Gems held by enemies and hidden in treasure chests for powerful upgrades. Buy the Heavy Gloves to crush blocks as 8-bit Pip, or purchase the almighty Cerberus sword upgrade that lets 16-bit Pip launch blade blasts. Pip needs all the strength he can get to defeat towering bosses like the devious Cragken and colossal Lord Magmalith.

Adventures of Pip’s improved Nintendo Switch debut offers an even smoother experience than before. Pop back into town quickly with a new menu system. Check Achievement progress on the go by viewing them in the Pause menu. Zip around as 16-bit Pip with increased speed and automatically collect dropped Gems. There’s never been a better time to join Pip’s journey and jam out to Jake Kaufman’s (Shovel Knight, Shantae: Half-Genie Hero) triumphant soundtrack.

“Giving Adventures of Pip a new home on the Nintendo Switch system allowed us to make some tweaks that make the game even more delightful,” said Marc Gomez, Director, Tic Toc Games. “We hope Pip’s journey charms new and returning players alike.”

Adventures of Pip launches on the Nintendo Switch system today in North America, Europe, Great Britain, and Russia for $9.99. It features English-language support and is also available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Windows PC, macOS, iOS, and Android devices. UBISOFT® ANNOUNCES THE FIRST WORLD CUP FOR TOM CLANCY’S RAINBOW SIX® SIEGE, WITH SPORTS AMBASSADOR TONY PARKER

0

The Rainbow Six World Cup will take place in the Winter of 2021

SYDNEY AUSTRALIA — September 11, 2020 — Today at Ubisoft’s digital press conference, Ubisoft Forward, the company announced the first ever Rainbow Six World Cup, an exciting new way to enjoy esports with Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six® Siege. The Rainbow Six World Cup will take place in the Winter of 2021. For the first time in Rainbow Six Esports history, players from 45 countries and regions will compete at the highest level to become the team that will make history by bringing home the very first Rainbow Six World Cup trophy. The World Cup is also a unique and unprecedented opportunity for fans to share their love, pride and unconditional support with the team that will represent them on the worldwide stage.

We noticed during our events that both professional players and fans showcased their national pride and enthusiasm,” said François-Xavier Dénièle, Esports Director at Ubisoft.  “As we saw all the different flags in the audience and international rivalries emerge, we began nurturing the idea of creating such a competition. The idea evolved into the World Cup we are announcing today. We believe that the World Cup will be a great opportunity to celebrate the Rainbow Six Siege community, both local and worldwide, while also providing new stakes and challenges for professional players.

For such a special occasion, Ubisoft has entrusted international athlete Tony Parker to take on the role of ambassador for the Rainbow Six World Cup and share his 20-year experience with the players involved in the competition. With 4 NBA titles, a EuroBasket title, more than 180 selections in national team and a true passion for esports and gaming, Tony Parker will have great insights to share with players who will face, for the first time, the special pressure and stakes that come with competing in world cups.

In the Rainbow Six World Cup players will compete alongside new teammates and new coaches from their home countries; players that might be their rivals otherwise,” said Tony Parker, 4-times NBA Champion and EuroBasket Champion. They will experience something new, and I am excited to share my experience and accompany them in that adventure as part of my role as an ambassador. I have been involved in esports for the past six to seven years now, and when Ubisoft first came to me with this project, I was convinced they wanted to create something special. It will be a first for the game and I wanted to be part of it.

From September 2020 to Winter 2021: the road to the Rainbow Six World Cup

From amateur competitive scenes which started only 5 years ago, Rainbow Six Siege has developed into Ubisoft’s top-tier esports title, with more than 60 million players worldwide, and 40 professional teams competing in four strong regional leagues across North America, Europe, Latin America and Asia-Pacific. The Rainbow Six World Cup is the latest addition to the Rainbow Six Esports ecosystem, as an independent layer of competition and the first ever country-based tournament for the game.

The Rainbow Six World Cup will involve a total of 45 countries and regions throughout two stages. The Qualifier Stage will happen during the first half of 2021, while the Final Stage will take place during the Winter of 2021. 14 countries and regions will get a direct invite to the Final Stage and, additionally, 31 other countries will take part in online qualifiers to compete for one of the six remaining available slots. Ultimately, 20 teams will compete in the Final Stage of the World Cup.

To determine the composition of each national team, local Rainbow Six Siege communities and professional scenes will participate in a two-step process:

  • Starting September 14, each of the 45 participating countries and regions will start selecting their National Committees, composed of 3 team managers.
  •  Later this fall, each National Committee will select the 5 players who will compete in the team.

The National Committees will ultimately head the team they carefully composed as they take on the challenge to become World Cup champions.

Additional details on the competition and the national committee selection process are available here: https://R6Esports/WorldCup

The game will also be available on UPLAY+, Ubisoft’s subscription service.* Players who purchase Riders Republic on Xbox One or PlayStation®4 can upgrade their game to the next-gen version at no additional cost.**

Developed by Ubisoft Annecy, Riders Republic invites players to an exhilarating social playground, where they can experience the thrill of extreme sports in an open and densely populated world. Players will connect, compete and slay tricks through an exciting range of sports such as biking, skiing, snowboarding, wing suiting and rocket wing suiting. Whenever players explore or gather in the vibrant social hub, they will always find themselves surrounded by fellow riders.

From arid canyons to snowy mountains, Riders Republic allows players to ride through some of the most magnificent destinations on earth. The American National Parks, Bryce Canyon, Yosemite Valley, Sequoia Park, Zion, Canyonlands, Mammoth Mountain and Grand Teton have been faithfully recreated and imaginatively mashed together to create the liveliest sports park.

Players can squad up with or against friends in these insane multiplayer modes:

  • Competitive Races and Trick Challenges: Playable in PvP and solo, players will feel the rush during these races and challenges.
  • Mass Starts: Nothing is off-limits in these frantic races with more than 50 players***. Players will need to watch their blind spots and protect their position as they collide, grind and fight their way to the finish line.
  • Multiplayer Arenas: Dominate maps in 6v6 PvP matchups.
  • Online Cups: Made for the very best riders to show off and show out, ultimately making it to the top of the leaderboard.

“We wanted to combine our love for extreme sports with an adrenaline-filled multiplayer experience, letting players share those unique riding moments with more than 50 other players at all times,” said Igor Manceau, Creative Director of Riders Republic at Ubisoft Annecy.**** “Riders Republic offers fun and light-hearted competition and allows us to push the boundaries with this genre. We can’t wait for riders to dive into this dynamic world and share their own epic stories.”

With career mode, riders can make a name for themselves in a variety of sports, rise to the top of the leaderboard and sign with legendary sponsors from a wide range of outdoor action sports.  Players can customize their rider through evolutive, progression-based gear and define every aspect of the avatar. Whether a rider wants to master snowboarding or be the fastest thing on two wheels, everything is possible.

Riders Republic will make the most of next-gen gameplay, running at 60 FPS and displaying more than 50 players simultaneously live onscreen on next-gen consoles.
