HEROES AND VILLAINS SAVE LAS VEGAS IN NEW ‘DAMNATION’ COMIC BOOK-INSPIRED UPDATE FOR MARVEL FUTURE FIGHT

New Characters, New Uniforms and a New Extreme Mode Are Added in Today’s Update

LOS ANGELES – 16 September, 2020 – Netmarble’s latest update for the popular mobile game MARVEL Future Fight brings an all-new update to the game inspired by the Damnation comic book storyline. The update brings new characters, uniforms, and an Extreme mode added to the Danger Room and Alliance Battles alongside other in-game updates.

Damnation tells the tale of Mephisto’s conquest of Las Vegas, transforming the City of Sin into his personal hellscape. After Doctor Strange is captured, a new group of heroes gather to rescue the Sorcerer Supreme and free the city. Two new characters, the Spider-Man clone known as the Scarlet Spider,and Morbius, the living vampire, have been added to the game. New uniforms, including a Space Suit uniform for Doctor Strange, a Damnation uniform for Dormammu, a Mr. Knight uniform for Moon Knight, and an Avengers uniform for Blade are also available for players to collect.

Today’s update also includes a new Extreme mode added to the Danger Room. In Extreme mode, Agents play with their own Hero, reflecting both Hero and item stats. Only Tier-3 and Transcend Potential Heroes can be selected, but it can be the same Hero as other players. An extra rating system has also been added for Extreme mode only.

Other additions to MARVEL Future Fight include:

  • Dormammu can now be upgraded to Tier-3 and has new ultimate skills
  • The ‘Awaken Potential’ has been unlocked for Morbius, Moon Knight and Elsa Bloodstone and new Awaken skills have also been added
  • The ‘Realize Potential’ has been unlocked for Scarlet Spider, Morbius, Blade, Elsa Bloodstone, Moon Knight, Dormammu and Iron Fist
  • The ‘Alliance Battle Extreme’ has added New Frost Beasts along with new stages featuring different strategy elements that are updated weekly
  • Improved ‘Hero Selection Improvement’ that allows players to check a selected hero’s main information, and a Role Icon to easily understand the character’s role

MARVEL Future Fight celebrated its fifth anniversary with over 120 million players across the world. The game is currently available worldwide in the App Store® and Google Play™.

Company behind Arizona Sunshine and After the Fall opening new business opportunities for the global publishing group

Sydney, Australia – September 16th, 2020 –  Koch Media GmbH – a wholly-owned subsidiary of Embracer Group AB – today entered into an agreement acquiring 100 percent of the shares of Dutch-based Vertigo Games Holding B.V. (“Vertigo Games”).

With today’s acquisition Koch Media enters a new market segment for the group’s business worldwide, expanding its global network and line up even further.

Founded in 2008, Vertigo Games is a multiplatform VR entertainment company group with offices in Rotterdam and Los Angeles. Vertigo Games focuses on development (Vertigo Studios) and publishing, both for home entertainment (Vertigo Publishing) as well as location-based-entertainment (Vertigo Arcades). Vertigo Games is officially partnered with all major VR platform providers and acts as cross platform publisher and developer in the VR market. The acquisition includes all segments of Vertigo Games’ business, as well as all intellectual property rights. With no changes to the existing management or team, Vertigo Games will act as an independent content provider and publishing label for Koch Media’s global games business.

CALABASAS, Calif. — Sept. 15, 2020 — Ghostrunner, the first-person cyberpunk parkour action game from developers One More Level, 3D Realms, and Slipgate Ironworks™, will come to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and on PC via Steam, Epic Games Store and GOG on Tuesday, Oct. 27. Revealed at Gamescom, co-publishers All in! Games and 505 Games invite players to apply for the game’s Private Beta, providing assassins with exclusive access to Ghostrunner if selected. To apply, interested players can join the Ghostrunner Discord server and submit an application. The companies also announced an updated free demo of Ghostrunner will arrive on Steam for PC Tuesday, Sept. 29.

SAN DIEGO – September 15, 2020 – Psyonix, the San Diego video game developer, has announced that Rocket League is going free to play on September 23!

An update will go live on all platforms tomorrow, September 16, at 9 a.m. PDT (4 p.m. UTC) to prepare Rocket League for the free to play transition. Below is a breakdown of what goes live during tomorrow’s update and what will be available when free to play launches on September 23:

Tomorrow’s Update 

  • Cross-Platform Progression Linking – Existing players will be able to link their platforms to their Epic Games Account. More information can be found in the blog post HERE
  • Legacy Status Items – Players that already own and have played Rocket League will receive their Legacy items
  • Support-A-Creator Live – Rocket League will join the Epic Games Support-A-Creator program. Beginning tomorrow, players will be able to enter a Creator Code in the Item Shop which allows Creators to earn 5% of Credits Spent when their Creator Code is used
  • Various Quality of Life Changes and Additions – More info found in today’s blog

Free to Play Launch on September 23 

  • Epic Games Store Debut – Rocket League will make its debut on the Epic Games Store when Rocket League goes free to play! Players can add it to their wishlist  HERE. Players who download and launch the game on EGS will also receive the Sun Ray Boost and Hot Rocks Trail items! 
  • Revamped Tournaments and Challenges – Updates to the Tournaments and Challenges systems will be live
  • Season 1 Rocket Pass – Rocket Pass returns with the beginning of Season 1! More details on Season 1 will be revealed soon 
  • Two New Item Packs – The Endo Starter Pack and Jäger Pack will be available for purchase. The packs will contain:
    • Endo Starter Pack – Endo, Gaiden Wheels (Grey), Neo-Thermal Boost, Friction Trail, and 500 Credits
    • Jäger Pack – Jäger 619 (Titanium White), Apparatus Wheels (Titanium White), Toon Goal Explosion (Titanium White), and 1000 Credits

Lastly, in order to celebrate Rocket League going free to play, there will be an all new in-game event called Llama-Rama soon after the September 23 launch. More information about this event will be shared in the near future!

BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment America Inc. today officially announced that YuYu Hakusho’s Hiei, the Upper S-Class demon and ally of Urameshi Yusuke, will be focusing the gaze of his Jagan upon the JUMP FORCEroster as part of Character Pass 2. The master of the immensely powerful Dragon of the Darkness Flame technique, Hiei casts a fearsome shadow over the battlefield that far exceeds his physical stature. Hiei will be available for PlayStation®4, Xbox One and PC users this fall, and Nintendo Switch players in 2021.

In addition to Hiei, JUMP FORCE Character Pass 2 also features the currently available Shoto Todoroki, the previously announced Meruem, and two yet-to-be announced characters from Bleach and JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. Players who purchase Character Pass 2 for $17.99 will immediately obtain Todoroki, as well as gain early access to Hiei, Meruem and the two subsequent DLC characters upon their individual releases; characters may also be purchased separately for $3.99 each.
