New Update Extends Battlefield 6 and REDSEC Season 1, Season 2 Launch Date Announced

Battlefield Studios announced today an extension of Battlefield 6 and Battlefield REDSEC first season, will include new weekly challenges, a Bonus Path, and a continuation of the Season 1 Battle Pass.

The first season will now run until the launch of Season 2 on February 17, with the Season 1 extension update being released on January 20. This extended launch has been implemented to allow extra time to further develop and refine Season 2 as a result of community feedback.

Available on January 27, the Frostfire Bonus Path gives players the chance to unlock new free and premium customisation rewards, including a Weapon Package and a Soldier Skin, as well as XP Boosts, by advancing through the tiers of the Frostfire Bonus Path. Premium Tier Rewards require purchase of the Season 1 Battle Pass.

Free rewards from the Frostfire Bonus Path will include a Hardware XP Boost, a Vehicle Skin and playercard customisation items, while Battle Pass owners can grab a new Weapon Package, a Career XP Boost and additional customisation items.

The Frostfire Bonus Path can be completed concurrently alongside the Season 1 Battle Pass. Players do not need to choose to make progress between a Season 1 Battle Pass Path – i.e. Rogue Ops, Soldiers Of Fortune – and the Frostfire Bonus Path. Each Bonus Path Tier requires 10 Bonus Path Points to unlock, with a total of 110 Bonus Path points required to fully complete the Bonus Path. Unlike previous Bonus Paths, all Bonus Path Points for the Frostfire Bonus Path are earned through Weekly Challenges; there are no Bonus Challenges associated with this Bonus Path.

Later this update, the team will be celebrating Valentine’s Day! Another set of Daily Login Rewards will be introduced, alongside several Double XP Weekends throughout the update period.

The Season 1 extension update also includes various updates and fixes. Full information about what those updates and fixes entail can be found in the “Game Updates” section of our website here.

Unleash the Elements on Your Party: Elemental Brawl Now Available

[Brazil] – January 13, 2026Mayor Games, in partnership with indie.io, are proud to announce that Elemental Brawl is now available on Steam. Designed for online and couch multiplayer, Elemental Brawl puts players in the show of a slew of cartoony characters about to clash in a fast-paced brawl mixing platforming, elemental puzzles, and unpredictable twists of gameplay into one party-rich package!

The core gameplay revolves around clever use of six distinct elements spawning across the game area. Each of them has a core function: Water creates slippery puddles and slows down players, reducing their control over the character, fire destroys the environment and deals enhanced damage, while earth produces globs of dirt that can be used to strategically place obstacles or protect characters from incoming damage.

However, the key to victory lies in cleverly mixing the randomly appearing elements together, to create ingenious and powerful combinations: Fire and water create steam, which can be used both for damaging players or propelling them and other objects around the map, while earth and water create mud perfect for trapping players.

The possibilities are limited only by the players’ imagination. Clever mixing rewards skillful play and players thinking on their feet, while additional minigames randomly selected throughout the rounds of the match ensure that players of every skill level and degree of imagination have a fair chance at winning. The minigames range from races to destroy opposing team’s statues, protecting payloads delivered to the target base, or even hunting hidden items in a constantly changing arena.

Cooperation is key – and not always easily foreseeable. Every team-based minigame reshuffles players and those who found themselves working together for a shared goal in the previous round may very well find themselves squaring off against each other in the next one. As such, even those who are lagging behind might find themselves competing for the top spots thanks to the power of team work! With fast-paced, seemingly chaotic fun that rewards finding the right balance between competition and cooperation, Elemental Brawl is a package for players of all ages, skills, and preferences – now available on Steam!

Preorders Open for Star Trek: Voyager – Across the Unknownas Deluxe Edition, Console Demos, Switch 2 Version And Launch Date Are Revealed

Preorders open today for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2, accompanied by the reveal of the Deluxe Edition, console demos and the confirmed February 18, 2026 release date.

Hamburg, Germany – January 13, 2026 – Daedalic Entertainment and developer gameXcite announce that Star Trek: Voyager – Across the Unknown will launch on February 18, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC. With this announcement, the teams also confirm that Nintendo Switch 2 joins PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S for a simultaneous release across all platforms.

At the same time, preorders open today on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2, accompanied by the reveal of the Deluxe Edition.

Alongside the start of the preorder of the standard and digital deluxe versions, a free demo is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, incorporating the extensive feedback gathered from the community. The new version features improved UI clarity, enhanced ship-control feedback, refined combat pacing, and additional guidance in key decision-making moments, ensuring new captains can step onto the bridge with confidence. A demo for Nintendo Switch 2 is expected to follow soon as well as the updated version for the Steam PC demo.

In the demo, captains will navigate a sector inspired by the legendary pilot episode “The Caretaker”. The demo includes a guided tutorial and approximately an hour of gameplay, challenging players to keep their starship intact, their crew alive, and their heading true as they begin an epic journey back to the Alpha Quadrant.

In the tradition of Starfleet’s finest, the Deluxe Edition brings captains deeper into the unknown, adding new missions, new recruitable heroes, and powerful technologies drawn from pivotal alien encounters in the Delta Quadrant. This expanded content integrates directly into the campaign, offering fresh tactical options and new narrative possibilities for returning and first-time players alike.

As part of today’s announcement, Daedalic Entertainment and gameXcite also release a new video – the Combat Deep Dive – showcasing one of the core systems of Star Trek: Voyager – Across the Unknown and how the team brought Star Trek–authentic decision-making to life on the bridge of the U.S.S. Voyager. In Voyager-style combat, you don’t fly the ship like Tom Paris and you don’t manually fire weapons like Tuvok. You make captain’s calls: directing targets and subsystems, adjusting positioning and energy levels, deciding when to launch torpedoes, and more. These decisions shape authentic, tactical Star Trek combat.

“Following the demo release, we’ve taken lots of valuable player feedback on board. This valuable input allows us to refine core gameplay systems even further, polish localization, and add meaningful details – ensuring the journey through the Delta Quadrant will shine when the game launches in early 2026,” says Daniel Bernard, Game Director at gameXcite.

Jonas Hüsges, COO of Daedalic Entertainment GmbH, shared the following:
“Matching the spirit of Starfleet, we want to bring this adventure to as many of you as possible on day one. The additional time allows us to synchronize all platforms, including the newly added Nintendo Switch 2 version and improve the game on all levels. A unified launch is the right call for a story about a crew that survives by sticking together. We’re excited to give fans the best possible voyage home.”

Currently players can take the captain’s chair with the demo of Star Trek: Voyager – Across the Unknown on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Below are the store pages with links to the Standard and Deluxe Editions, as well as the demos:

Dodge various airborne hazards such as broken aircraft parts and flaming debris, as each hit you take will deal damage and risk ending your run prematurely. Eventually, you’ll inevitably meet your doomed fate, only for you to wake back up on the plane, stuck in a twisted time loop, and do it all again. Inspired by classic arcade extreme sports games of the ‘90s, Freefall ‘95 takes the player back to simpler times with its nostalgic art style and soundtrack.

Well, don’t just sit there, do something! Throughout your free fall, make use of the items nearest to you by grabbing broken parts, passenger belongings, or even…snakes? Then, fall with style while performing tricks like backflips, somersaults, and even the Worm. Picking up items while performing tricks seriously amplifies your score, so try your best to chain as many combos as you can before eating the ground face-first! Bullet hell fans will find a special treat waiting for them, as with each new level, new environmental-based objects and obstacles are introduced. Ice blasts, lightning, and even flaming projectiles; each zone presents a checklist of challenges you must complete to advance. Aim for clean, smooth runs as you compete for high scores on the leaderboard against your friends on every level!

Meet Your Fellow Passengers

While in the peaceful confines of the pre-devastated plane, interact with your fellow passengers and take on quests to discover what might be causing this aviation nightmare. Spend your hard-earned coins from previous runs on useful items and upgrades that’ll make future falls more enjoyable. Try out each ability item, experiencing levels in wild new ways, and find items during your falls to share with other passengers for their insights. As you unlock new levels, uncover more of the narrative, slowly piecing together what’s really going on. If you’re lucky enough, you might just unravel the mystery and save yourself from a doomed flight… but do you really want to?

Mind-Bending Gadgets and Abilities

As you progress through the levels, you’ll collect unique items and gadgets that change how you play. Draw items to you with the Electromagnet, or use the Repulsor to clear your course of obstacles; all in the name of preserving your epic combos. 13th January, 2026 –  The case is officially open. Obsidian Moon, the noir detective simulator from Lost Cabinet Games, is launching its first public playable demo as part of Steam Detective Fest, inviting players to step into the shadows and take on their very first investigation.

Set in the smoke-filled alleys of a city drowning in secrets, Obsidian Moon is a text-based detective adventure rooted in 1930s noir and psychological tension. Players take on the role of Carter, a once-respected homicide detective haunted by grief and failure, tasked with solving a series of interconnected murders through logic, instinct, and the steady collapse of his own sanity.

“The call came in last night about a corpse found at the Obsidian docks. By the time I rolled in, head still spinning from the bottle of Jack the previous night, our boys in blue had already cordoned off the scene and rounded up three suspects…”

In the demo, players will take on the first murder investigation, navigating a dense web of leads, choices, and consequences. Whether you interrogate witnesses, dig through records, rely on forensic work, or take more questionable shortcuts, the case adapts to your methods, offering more than 30 different investigative paths depending on how you approach the case.

“Steam Detective Fest felt like the perfect moment to let players get their hands dirty,” said Yannis Antonakakis, Game Director at Lost Cabinet Games.

“The demo isn’t a vertical slice, it’s a real case, built to show how much freedom the game gives you. We want players to experiment, make mistakes, and feel what it’s like to live inside an investigation, even if it costs them.”

KEY DEMO FEATURES:

  • An introductory tutorial case plus the first original case of the game
  • 30+ investigative solutions, depending on your choices and methods
  • 20 – 45+ minutes of gameplay, based on player approach

New European Battleships take to the High Seas in World of Warships’ Latest Update

European battleships sail into Early Access, joined by a new “Salvage for Victory” Event with Legendary French Submarine Surcouf, and a Commander in collaboration with YouTube martincitopants

January 13th, 2026 – Wargaming, the developer and publisher of the leading historically accurate naval multiplayer game World of Warships, is ringing in the new year with another jam-packed update bringing new Commanders, ships, events, and more. Players can look forward to a host of new European battleships as they drop anchor into Early Access, French submarine Surcouf arriving as part of the newest “Salvage for Victory” event and a new Commander in collaboration with the YouTuber martincitopants. Beyond the game, World of Warships is launching the Naval Museum Atlas 2026 Calendar, its newest heritage project in collaboration with 12 renowned U.S. ship museums, anchored by a collectible wall calendar and supported by a series of free combat missions.

European Battleships Sail into Early Access

Kicking off the new year are new battleships sailing into Early Access. Players will be able to get hands on with seven brand new Pan-European battleships across increasing tiers: Yavuz Sultan Selim, Tegetthoff, Laudon, Chios, Enigheten, Gustav den Store, and Thor. Each ship comes equipped with long range torpedoes to deal significant damage, the strength of which scales as ship tiers progress, as well as good concealments for battleships. From Tier V, these ships also come equipped with a time-based Emergency Engine Power consumable for quick repositioning, and ships from Tier VIII upwards also feature the Surveillance Radar consumable.

A new Event Pass arrives to celebrate these additions, offering two progression lines and packed with rewards, including camouflages, two of the new European vessels, and containers for the “Honor, Integrity, Virtue” Collection. This 60-piece collection is themed around Royal Australian Navy Vice-Admiral John Augustine Collins, and players who complete the collection will receive Collins as a Commander, marking the first Commonwealth Unique Commander in the game with unique talents and improved skills.

Legendary French Submarine Surcouf Headlines new “Salvage for Victory” Event

Starting from 5 February in the final week of the update, players will have the chance to dive into a new “Salvage for Victory” event. By combining and trading resources, they’ll unlock enviable rewards, amongst which include Tier VIII Premium Pan-Asian cruiser Narai, Tier VIII Italian Premium battleship Marcantonio Colonna and Soviet Tier IX Premium battleship Zarya Svobody.

Headlining these prizes is Legendary French submarine Surcouf, a historic ship armed with four forward torpedo tubes, two stern-based triple launchers, a turret equipped with two 203mm cannons, as well as anti-submarine warfare airstrike capabilities. The tier X Surcouf has depth restrictions on its tools, and no sonar or acoustic torpedoes for enemy submarine engagements, making it most optimal as a surface vessel with diving reserved for stealthy repositioning.

Martincitopants Leaps into World of Warships

Naughtical nonsense is coming to the high seas, as YouTuber martincitopants joins the game as Commander Captain Mart, and with him a martincitopants special permanent camouflage. Players can unlock Captain Mart and additional goodies from a special mission, unlocked via a code that will be revealed on social media in the near future. A custom Captain Mart flag will also be available to unlock in the Armory.

New Naval Museum Atlas Calendar Celebrates 12 months of U.S. Maritime History

Finally, bringing World of Warships into the new year, is the Naval Museum Atlas 2026 calendar. Developed in close collaboration with 12 renowned U.S. ship museums, the Naval Museum Atlas 2026 Calendar celebrates iconic vessels that shaped America’s maritime legacy. The project includes a collectible wall calendar available for purchase at: merch.worldofwarships.com, as well as a free online calendar open to all players starting in January.

Through in-game combat missions tied to the online calendar, players can explore the stories of participating museum ships and experience them directly for a limited-time. As part of the initiative, World of Warships will donate its share of the wall calendar’s profits to support the Historic Naval Ships Association (HNSA) and its ongoing work to preserve historic naval vessels.
