ZERO LATENCY VR BRINGS FREE-ROAM VIRTUAL REALITY TO SYDNEY

Sydney-siders can enjoy an immersive untethered VR experience these Christmas holidays

Sydney, Australia – Monday 16 November 2020 – Zero Latency VR, the world’s largest Virtual Reality entertainment network, today announced its next free-roam Virtual Reality venue will open in Sydney on 1 December. This will be the sixth Zero Latency VR venue in Australia, joining the existing Brisbane, Gold Coast, Perth, Melbourne and South Melbourne venues.

The fastest growing free-roam Virtual Reality experience allows players to explore digital worlds with up to seven friends in VR without being restricted by any wires.

What to expect – Zero Latency VR

“We’re excited for Sydney-siders to experience Zero Latency VR because we believe it is the ultimate realisation of what VR is capable of,” said Zero Latency VR CEO Tim Ruse. “The new Sydney venue at 219 O’Riordan Street, Mascot will feature a 200 square metre VR arena for up to eight players to enjoy an immersive VR experience where they can freely move and explore a large virtual space as they would in the real world.”

The Zero Latency VR experience requires players to wear a VR headset, strap into a backpack, and use a controller to interact with the virtual world they’ve chosen by physically moving around the play space and communicating with their friends via built-in microphones and speakers.

Additional hygiene measures have been introduced for visitors, including controlled group numbers (a maximum of eight per session) and vigorous sanitisation and disinfection of VR headsets, backpacks, earphones, microphones and controllers before each session. 

“Zero Latency VR’s safety and hygiene standards were already high before COVID-19, but we’ve taken extra steps in all our venues to ensure visitors will have an enjoyable, safe experience when they visit,” said Ruse. “We’ve also adjusted the safety alarms in our games to keep players 1.5 metres apart throughout their experience, and our Game Masters have completed additional training in hygiene practices including temperature checks, sanitation processes, and using personal protective equipment.”

Visitors can expect a wide range of experiences at the new Sydney venue, from surviving a zombie apocalypse, escaping a stranded space station or heading into the world of Far Cry 3 (coming 2021). Children and adults will find a game perfect for them at Zero Latency VR these holidays, including:

  • Undead Arena(Recommended Ages 13+): A reality TV show set in the apocalypse about surviving a zombie horde.
  • Singularity(Recommended Ages 13+): A sci-fi adventure where players must work together to escape a stranded space station taken over by robots.
  • Far Cry VR(coming 2021): In a collaboration with Ubisoft, players will return to the world of Far Cry 3 as they do whatever it takes to escape from Vaas and his henchmen.

Get down with dark future vibes in Run The Jewels’ Cyberpunk 2077 music video

CD PROJEKT RED invites gamers and music enthusiasts to check out the brand new music video from rap duo Run The Jewels, inspired by Cyberpunk 2077.

The video features El-P and Killer Mike, known as Run The Jewels (RTJ), performing their track No Save Point — which was created specifically for Cyberpunk 2077 and can be heard in the game itself, as well as on the game’s soundtrack. Filled with elements, imagery, and effects from the dark future world of Cyberpunk 2077, the atmospheric video is available to watch right now on YouTube.

Cyberpunk 2077 will release December 10th, 2020, for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Stadia. The game will also be playable on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 consoles when available. Q3 Performance Remains Steady Thanks to Strong Interest from Overseas Players

Los Angeles, California – November 13, 2020 – Netmarble Corp., a global mobile game company focused on creating entertaining gaming experiences for players of all ages, revealed their financial results for the third quarter of 2020.

“We continue to see strong results at the end of our third quarter with significant overseas sales coming from our line-up of existing games,” said Seungwon Lee, Co-CEO of Netmarble. “We have positive expectations for the recent global launch of A3: STILL ALIVE, our upcoming regional launch of Seven Knights 2, and Kabam’s upcoming release of MARVEL Realm of Champions.”

Selected highlights from Netmarble’s third quarter include:

  • $535 million in total sales, $73 million in operating profit, and a net profit of $77 million from July through September. Cumulative sales for 2020 are estimated at $1.55 billion, with an operating profit of $158 million.
  • Total sales increased by 3.6% year-over-year and decreased by 6.3% quarter-on-quarter. Operating profit increased 3.6% year-over-year and 7% quarter-on-quarter.
  • Net profit increased by 9.2% year-over-year and 8.6% quarter-on-quarter.
  • Overseas sales accounted for 75% ($399 million) of overall sales in the third quarter. This follows Netmarble’s second quarter which offered the highest figure of overseas sales, and continues to follow an increasing trend in global sales thanks to the worldwide success of titles such The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross (17% of revenue earned), MARVEL Contest of Champions (15% of revenue earned) (Kabam), Lineage 2: Revolution (9% of revenue earned) and Blade&Soul Revolution (8% of revenue earned).
  • Genre portfolio showed diversification across RPG (40%), Casual (25%), MMORPG (23%), and others (12%).

Brawlhalla Celebrates Fifth Anniversary with In-Game Event, Available Now

The free-to-play fighting game releases new effects and more for new event 

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA — November 13, 2020 Today, Ubisoft celebrates Brawlhalla’s five-year anniversary with an in-game event beginning today, that brings new colors for Legends, a new Skin for Legend Bodvar, a new Podium, a time-limited Emote, and more. Since launching in 2015, Brawlhalla reached a milestone of more than 50 million players worldwide, increased the playable roster to over 50 unique Legends, added Epic Crossovers from 9 different franchises (like Rayman, Adventure Time, and WWE), and became the most played fighting game on Steam. This year, Brawlhalla launched its first Battle Pass, along with new Epic Crossovers like Crystal Dynamics’ Lara Croft, Cartoon Network’s Ben 10, and AMC’s The Walking Dead.
