Interstellar Colony Builder Base One Warps onto PC and Mac Today

SYDNEY – 12 May 2021 – Base One, the space station simulator with hardcore survival and RPG mechanics from publisher Blowfish Studios and developer PixFroze, arrives today on PC and Mac. Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One versions are also in development and planned for release later this year.

Settle in among the stars and build new colonies by constructing modular space stations and managing power consumption, oxygen, and heat to keep crew members alive and well as they explore the final frontier. Scour star systems for valuable resources, forgotten satellites, and life signs to unlock new technologies and upgrades to keep the vessels in good working order.

Advance through a story-driven campaign that analyzes the impact of interstellar colonization in a reality where corporate interests guide the hand of scientific advancement. Navigate through challenging scenarios that test a crews’ survival skills by completing objectives and modifying stations to establish a human presence in otherwise uncharted regions of space.

Base One’s modular building system features a wide array of helpful technology and resources, allowing for on-the-fly station upgrades with an intuitive interface. Attach solar panels to a station’s exterior, construct a docking bay, furnish the astronauts’ living quarters, and assemble a launching system to deploy probes into the void in search of valuable information.

Keep the station running smoothly by ensuring that each module is powered and life support systems are online. Run power lines from a ship’s solar panels to a nearby battery to begin the flow of power and link it to different rooms and devices to keep the station’s interior hospitable and keep the crew alive through the campaign. Or design stations without ultimate freedom in custom game modes, where the only restraint on colonies is the builder’s imagination.

“Base One combines simulation, city-building, and light roleplaying systems to create an immersive and engaging experience about surviving in uncharted regions of space,” said Ben Lee, CEO, Blowfish Studios. “We are excited to welcome intrepid explorers and hearty astronauts to Base One with its PC and Mac launch today!”

Base One is now available on Steam for Windows PC and Mac, GOG.com, and the Mac App Store for $24.99 USD / €19.99 / £15.99 / $29.95 AUD with English voiceover alongside French, German, Spanish, Russian and Simplified Chinese text language options (with Traditional Chinese and Japanese coming soon). The PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 versions are available to wishlist today and will be available later in 2021 alongside the Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One versions.

Award-Winning VR game Gravitational, coming to PlayStation

Gravitational wins yet more awards, as the game is announced for both digital and physical form, from July 13th

London, UK, May 11th 2021 – Studica Solution, Electric Monkeys and Perp Games are thrilled to announce that Gravitational is coming to PlayStation VR from July 13th 2021.  Gravitational will release digitally on July 13th and follow up with a physical release a few days later, on July 16th.

The release date announcement is hot on the heels of the news that Gravitational has won more awards to go with ‘The Itamaraty Social Impact Games Award’ won last year.  Last week at the Big Festival 2021, Gravitational took home the ‘People’s Choice Award’ as well as receiving an honorable mention for the ‘Big Impact and Diversity’ category.

Hugo Campos, Co-Founder of Electric Monkeys Game Studio said, “We are absolutely thrilled with the award.  Creating a game like Gravitational has been a great experience, it opened our eyes to social issues we didn’t even know and showed us a new way of thinking.”

Gravitational takes place in a utopic future, where large corporations are in a race with each other to develop ‘gravitational travel & control’ systems.  Systems which will revolutionize the World.  Playing as Sebastian, a scientist at GraviCorp, you are at the heart of a huge incident resulting in the main core collapse.    It is down to Sebastian to bring the accident under control and avoid a major catastrophe.

Facing challenges in inaccessible places and understanding the conflicts and traumas that Sebastian experiences, you navigate the world using both Sebastian’s wheelchair and also experience and master movement in ‘Zero Gravity’.

Rob Edwards, Managing Director of Perp Games, says “Gravitational has made a huge impact since its announcement and we are incredibly proud to be working with such a talented team as Electric Monkeys.   Gravitational is an incredibly fun game, that makes you think about the world around you.”

Hugo Campos, Co-Founder of Electric Monkeys Game Studio added, “We are very glad to work with Perp, who believe in Gravitational and work alongside our team to help create the best experience for the game.”

Gravitational is more than a game, participating in the ‘Unesco Games for Change Mission’ and winner of ‘The Itamaraty Social Impact Games Award’.

Gravitational VR will release digitally on PlayStation VR on July 13th, and physically from July 16th.

ROGUE-LITE RPG THE HAND OF MERLIN AVAILABLE TODAY STEAM

Arthurian Legend Merges With Sci Fi Horror to Stand Against the Horror From Beyond

Baltimore, MD – May 11th, 2021 – Independent developer Room C Games in co-production with Croteam and in partnership with indie publisher Versus Evil are excited to announce that their rogue-lite RPG game The Hand of Merlin will be available today on early access for PC via Steam, Epic Game Store and GOG.

The Hand of Merlin is a turn-based rogue-lite RPG in which Arthurian legend clashes with sci-fi horror. Players recruit three mortal heroes on a desperate journey from Albion to Jerusalem to explore richly-imagined medieval lands on the brink of apocalypse – assaulted by an otherworldly evil. Written by Jonas Kyratzes (The Talos Principle, Serious Sam 4) and Verena Kyratzes (The Lands of Dream, Serious Sam 4). The Hand of Merlin is a story inspired by Arthurian legend but with an unusual twist that introduces a wholly unique sci fi element to its storytelling. “We wanted to create a player focused, rogue-lite RPG that merged two complete contrasting genres but in a uniquely rewarding way. This forged a whole new universe for players to explore and craft their destinies. Creatively it gave us the scope to bring something really exciting and fresh to the turn-based and squad based RPG genre“ said Robert Sajko, Creative Director at Room C Games.

Utilizing squad-based and turn-based combat, players can employ tactical cunning to use cover, set up ambushes and coordinate attacks with ranged, melee and spellcasting combat to conquer both human and demonic foes looking to do them harm. Additionally, players can utilise relics they purchase or are rewarded with, some of which are imbued with magical power. These abilities will be important as players weigh the risk and reward for the paths they choose.

In The Hand of Merlin choices are permanent depending on the decisions players make as they carve a path across the lands of Albion, Marca Hispanica and Al-Andalus. Combat is inevitable and mastering the tactics of squad-based and turn-based combat is essential to survive in a world where evil never rests. Players can seek out towns to improve their arms and armor, or trade with hermit artisans in the wild. Renown is the backbone of progression and can be used to level up party Heroes, and players can choose between a randomized set of new skills or improved attributes to balance out the combat prowess of their party to improve their chances.

With a large focus on exploration and encounter, mortality is the consequence of existence in human form, but even in defeat, players retain collected arcane knowledge as they jump from one parallel dimension to the next. No two worlds are ever quite the same, and each journey will be unique. Defeat is not the end in this realm, only a new beginning.

There are as many worlds as there are stars in the sky. In each stands Camelot; in each there is a Grail. But there is only one Merlin, and his eternal burden is to stand against the horror from beyond. Each world that is saved is saved forever; each world that is lost is lost for good.

The Hand of Merlin will be available today on PC via Steam early access priced $24.99 / £18.99 / €22.49 for the Standard Edition with a Deluxe Edition priced at $29.99 / £22.49/ €26.99, A soundtrack of the game is also available for $7.99/ £5.99 / €6.99.

Versus Evil has a 20% launch discount in place for its first week on sale during early access and Room C Games aims to add more guardians, heroes and encounters for the games full launch later this year.

Enter a world of Inca mythology when action-RPG Aluna: Sentinel of the Shards comes to PC and Switch on May 26th

Comic’s first Latina superhero now video game heroine, starring actress/director/producer and series creator Paula Garces

New York City, USA – May 11th, 2021 – Digitart Interactive and N-Fusion Interactive are proud to announce that its Inca mythology-based action-RPG Aluna: Sentinel of the Shards is coming to PC (Steam) and Nintendo Switch on May 26th for $19.99. PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions will follow. Aluna: Sentinel of the Shards stars comic book creator and actress Paula Garces (Harold & Kumar series, On My Block, Clockstoppers, The Shield) as Incan demigod Aluna as she embarks upon a quest to understand the mysterious fate bestowed upon her.

Developed by Digiart Interactive and  N-Fusion Interactive, Aluna: Sentinel of the Shards is a rip-roaring romp through Inca lore featuring mythological gods, beasts, and tales that formed the backbone of 16th century Colombian culture. Venture from the Sanctuary seaside cliffs through the massive jungles of the New World, all the way to Nagaric’s Temple in the Volcanic Canyons in this pulpy period adventure.

Aluna: Sentinel of the Shards follows the exploits of Aluna, the warrior daughter of a Spanish conquistador and South American nature goddess Pachamama. Raised in early 16th century Spain, Aluna escaped to the New World only to realize it was her true homeland. Aluna: Sentinel of the Shards sets our heroine on a quest through Inca mythology as she strives to restore the amulet her goddess mother entrusted to her… and fulfill her true destiny.

Created by Paula Garces and Antonio Hernandez in response to the underrepresentation of both Latin and female superheroes in the entertainment industry, Aluna went on to become a cult hit and is currently starring in the ongoing comic book saga, The World of Aluna, written by Assassin’s Creed and Batman: Arkham Origins scribes Ryan Galletta, Dooma Wendschuch, and Corey May. Aluna further made a name for herself in video games after becoming a playable character in S2 Games’ popular MOBA Heroes of Newerth, where she was played by Paula Garces herself.

Catch up on The World of Aluna in the new Omnibus, collecting every issue of the comic book series to date: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08TQX2LTB/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_hsch_vapi_tkin_p1_i0

“Creating Aluna has been a joy, as Latin characters and women have historically been woefully underrepresented in pop culture,” said Aluna creator and actress Paula Garces. “It was a thrill bringing her to life on the page and in Heroes of Newerth, but giving her a starring role in an action-RPG is an all new opportunity to let everyone – not just me – embody Aluna and understand the power that comes with her unique heritage. She’s the badass Latina heroine I never had growing up!”

Aluna has been a passion project for Paula and I for years, as we’ve long struggled with the poor representation of Latin American people in our culture,” said Digiart Interactive founder Antonio Hernandez. “Video games are among the most widely shared forms of entertainment available today, and being able to share our heritage with a wider audience is exciting beyond words. We can’t wait for people to get their hands on Aluna: Sentinel of the Shards on May 26th.”
