GLITCHED – save a digital world in this story-rich RPG, coming to PC and consoles. Demo available now on Steam

Guide an unlikely hero through an epic adventure as he becomes aware of you – the player!

16 June, 2021 – Indie publisher Digerati and developer En House Studios are excited to announce GLITCHED. A wild RPG full of fourth-wall breaking fun, GLITCHED will launch first on PC in Q3 2021, with versions for Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Xbox One following early next year.

GLITCHED follows the story of Gus, an average NPC thrown into the role of hero when the appearance of mysterious glitches threatens the existence of his video game world. As he sets out on his adventure, he becomes aware of an invisible presence – you, the player!

With a vast world to explore, a myriad of secrets to discover, hundreds of characters to meet, countless choices to make, thousands of lines of dialogue, and the chance for player and character to form a deep bond, GLITCHED offers an extensive and immersive RPG experience.

GLITCHED is part of the Steam Next Fest, and a demo is available to download now from the game’s store page:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/594230

Watch the GLITCHED announcement trailer:

GLITCHED is developer En House Studios’ debut title and has been a huge undertaking for the Chicago-based two-man team. In development for what can reasonably be considered ‘a long time’, the humble beginnings of GLITCHED go back several years, as lead developer Nikko Koruna reveals:

“During my sophomore year of high school I made a small program in Computer Programming 101 where a pixel character would respond with swearing depending on which key you pressed. I started to imagine a video game world where the main character talks directly to the player, and from that GLITCHED was born.”

The concept of a friendship and relationship between the player and main character stuck with Koruna, and even as the game evolved it remained at the core of the experience.

“The glitchy world and aesthetics help deliver the narrative, but it was always this relationship with Gus that I knew was the true heart of the game,” explains Koruna. “Gus as a character developed and changed over the years, but it was the driving force that really kept me focused and excited about the project.”

About the game

GLITCHED is a choice-heavy, fourth wall breaking, existential RPG. When a glitch appears in the video game world of Soren, an NPC named Gus becomes aware of you – the player. Travel together to solve the mystery of the glitch and save Gus’s friends, hometown, and digital world.

Key Features

  • Essence: Your choices change Gus’s essence. This decides his personality, powers, and how characters react to him.
  • Choices: The story changes based on your choices. No two playthroughs will be the same!
  • Progression: Every activity gives EXP. Use it to patch glitches and advance the story.
  • Gus: Talk to Gus at any time. Form a friendship. Observe his escalating existential dread.
  • Battles: No random encounters. Turn-based combat using a unique system with skills, energy, and quirks.
  • Other Features: Magic spells. Cool equipment. 20+ potential party members. Romance system. Tons of outfits. Multiple endings. Arcade mode. Frogs.

STEELRISING REVEALS A PART OF ITS STORY

Lesquin, France, June 15, 2021 – Exclusively unveiled at IGN Expo, NACON and Spiders are pleased to share a new video introducing Steelrising’s uchronic context. In 1789, in an alternate Paris, with iconic locations and monuments adapted by Spiders’ developers, the French Revolution has stalled. The people’s revolt has been heavily suppressed by an army of automatons, deployed on the King’s orders.

Check below to learn more about the uchronic context of Steelrising

1789 is the year of the Storming of the Bastille and the start of the monarchy’s downfall. Steelrising depicts an alternative version of history: what if King Louis XVI, who loved clockmaking, had built an army of robots capable of quelling the insurrection? Powerful and cruel, this army spares no one and violently punishes rebels. Paris is burning and bleeding. Men, women and children are being systematically massacred.

In this terrifying chaos, you play as Aegis, an outstanding automaton and bodyguard of Marie-Antoinette. Appointed by the Queen, Aegis will have to navigate through a Paris crawling with machines. Each fight with these mechanical enemies is a challenge where the player’s skills are subjected to a tremendous ordeal. Such is the price to pay for those who want to change the course of history.

Steelrising will be available in 2022 on PC and consoles

Celtic Storybook Platformer “Clan O’Conall” Joins Top Finalists in the Nordic Games Discovery Contest

Celtic Storybook Platformer “Clan O’Conall” Joins Top Finalists in the Nordic Games Discovery Contest

Toronto, Canada – June 16, 2021 – Canadian indie game studio HitGrab Inc. is proud to join finalists in the Nordic Games Discovery Contest held in Mälmo, Sweden. Of all games submitted to the delegation for the event, the Celtic indie Clan O’Conall and the Crown of the Stag was the title panel judges felt was most deserving of recognition.  These finalists represent the finest selection of submissions to the 2021 delegation of the Nordic Game Discovery Contest, now entering its 19th year of operation.

The Celtic indie platformer is notable for its gameplay; based around swapping between three characters to initiate combat and solve puzzles – as well as its unique visual style, drawing many comparisons to the golden era of Disney animation.

Clan O’Conall launched this April following a Kickstarter campaign the previous year. Initially facing a troubled production due to COVID-related quarantine and the closure of game expos in 2020, the game was buoyed to its release through a dedicated group of fans, streamers and influencers who supported the title during its crowdfunding period and in its open beta prior to release.

Inspired by the rich tales of Celtic folklore, Clan O’Conall and the Crown of the Stag in an epic journeyset in the land of Hibernia. Action-packed adventure awaits players on their travels through a hand-crafted world of Mortals, Fae, magic and natural wonder.

Features:

  • A system of character swapping that lets players move, fight, and explore freely as they swap on a whim.
  • A stunning, hand-crafted 2D visual style reminiscent of classical animation.
  • A full and vibrant world pulled from the tapestry of Celtic mythology.
  • A robust character building system that expands on a cast of well-developed, dynamic heroes
  • An original Celtic score composed by MoonWalk Audio

Clan O’Conall will advance to the finalist category of the event, being held later in November of this year.
