Icelandic Developer Solid Clouds reveals Starborne: Frontiers

Indie studio’s newest game launches into a massive galaxy of intrigue and conquest, with you as the star

Reykjavik, Iceland – Icelandic indie publisher Solid Clouds has just announced a brand new game in their Starborne universe in the shape of Starborne: Frontiers, a radical expansion into the world established by their first game, Sovereign Space.

In Frontiers, players will have to navigate a web of complex alliances and conflicts among the stars, giving them the opportunity to explore a dazzling, expansive universe in ways that may surprise and delight. The first sneak-peak trailer for this exciting new game will premier on June 24th at https://starborne.com

“I am very excited about the opportunity to tell deeper stories with our games,” said Stefán Gunnarsson, the CEO of Solid Clouds. “We’ve come together and built the technical base that will allow us to truly dive into this massive universe and give our players more elaborate stories and role-playing elements. We’ve put enough work into Starborne’s factions and characters to fill a book or two, and now we’re finally getting to share it with the world – it’s incredibly rewarding.”

Frontiers will be a departure from Sovereign Space’s real-time empire-building format, instead challenging players in completely different ways as they voyage across the edge of civilized space. As their renown grows they will be able to build personal bases, discover the galaxy’s secrets, and even team up with their fellow commanders to take on its greatest dangers through both PvP and PvE elements. Along the way they may encounter over a dozen factions with their own unique histories and philosophies who might help or hinder players as they strive to claim their place as the strongest force in the frontier.

Further updates on the game’s release and development will be available on Starborne’s website, where the team has already published some enticing glimpses into the history of Frontiers‘ colorful galaxy.

About Solid Clouds

Founded in Reykjavik, Iceland in 2013 by Stefán Gunnarsson, Stefán Björnsson and Sigurdur Arnljotsson, the original CEO and co-founder of developer CCP Games, Solid Clouds was formed with one goal in mind: take the best elements of 4X Grand Strategy and combine them with the scale of an MMO to create something brand-new and unique – Starborne: Sovereign Space. The growing team at Solid Clouds is passionate about games and excited for the future of the Starborne universe. For more on Solid Clouds, visit https://www.solidclouds.com

MegaDev Reports Impressive Growth, Six Months After Series A Funding

Remarkable Increase in Subscribers, Staff, and an Integrated Office Environment in the Works

MUNICH, Germany (JUNE 24, 2021) — Megadev GmbH, the developers behind the innovative single-player gameplay customization platform PLITCH, today reported notable results and ongoing expansion plans, roughly six months after its Series A funding round. Since January, PLITCH’s user growth has increased by more than two-thirds, marking exceptional progress that promises to ramp up as the year continues.

Impressive Game Support
An average of 40 new titles added every month in 2021, in addition to 800+ patches to existing games. New games supported this year include Resident Evil: Village, Mass Effect Legendary Edition, Biomutant, and Valheim, all of which launched on PLITCH the same day they were released.

Additions to the Team
Users and supported games aren’t the only aspects of PLITCH that are on the rise, as the headcount at MegaDev has increased by 64% since January. This hiring momentum is set to continue, as MegaDev aims to hire at least half a dozen more employees by the time core gaming season kicks off in September.

A Newly Designed Office
The new hires and veteran employees alike will have the benefit of a newly redesigned work environment, spearheaded by renowned architect and artist Konstantin Landuris. The MegaDev office is being transformed into a loft-style open office that overlooks the city of Munich in two directions, and features a redesigned Tatooine-inspired conference room (yes, we are talking about THAT Tatooine). Employees will have larger offices that can be ventilated easier and will feature ergonomic tables that can be transformed into standing desks.

“PLITCH is all about creating a custom gaming experience that fits a player’s needs, and allows them to get more enjoyment out of gaming, so we decided that our staff’s working environment should be a reflection of this,” said Robert Maroschik, Managing Director and co-founder of MegaDev. “By adding larger offices, more ventilated areas, adjustable workstations, and a conference room you actually want to be in, we are creating a better space that fits our employees needs.”

Future Plans
The first half of 2021 is only the beginning. MegaDev has several exciting features and initiatives to announce in the latter half of the year, including the expansion of language options for PLITCH.

To stay updated on the latest announcements, follow PLITCH on Twitter and Instagram, like them on Facebook, and join the official PLITCH Discord.

FIRST CLASS TROUBLE PERSONOID QUARTERS UPDATE NOW LIVE

New Maintenance Area Map and Abilities Brings More Sabotage and Deception on the killer Cruise to Nowhere

Baltimore, MD – June 24th, 2021 – Independent developer Invisible Walls ApS and indie publisher Versus Evil are excited to announce that the latest update for their multiplayer social deduction game First Class Trouble is now live on Steam.

The Personoid Quarters Update introduces a new maintenance area map to the game as well as new game mechanics for players to utilize, including magnetic boots to help players survive being sucked out of airlocks, a regular occurance for many unfortunate players in First Class Trouble. A forklift also provides a way for players to access out of reach areas in the new Personoid Maintenance Area.

The Personoid Maintenance Area is a dark and cold environment. It is not meant to be seen, filled with heavy industrial equipment that makes sure that the facade of the space-cruise liner, the Alithea is kept clean. The area is full of Personoid Shortcuts as this is where they can come from all over the ship for maintenance. They come here to recharge, be repaired or be decommissioned if they are of no further use.

Players will need to repair 20 of the 25 CAIN servers to activate the elevator with personoids doing all they can to sabotage this objective.

This latest update also improves the transformation animation sequence and gives the personoid shortcuts a visual overhaul.

First Class Trouble is a multiplayer social deduction game where six players must work together to shut down C.A.I.N., the rogue A.I. of a failing luxury space cruise-liner that is trying to kill them. Two of the six players are chosen at random to secretly play as Personoids, killer humanoids sent by C.A.I.N. to betray the other players.
