Developer and Publisher Impulse Gear Update Their New VR Shooter with Two-Handed Pivot Aiming, Manual Reload, Cross-Play Lobbies, bHaptics Vest Support and More

SAN FRANCISCO – July 22, 2021 – Independent developer and publisher, Impulse Gear continues to support the launch of Larcenauts, the new Virtual Reality (VR), team-based, 6v6 multiplayer, first-person hero shooter that offers full cross-play support across major VR devices. Following the game’s initial release last month, the team has been monitoring reception and community feedback, while issuing a series of patches and hotfixes addressing additional platforms, balance and game performance. Today, Impulse Gear continues that cadence, releasing the Larcenauts: Immersion Overload update, adding a wealth of new features to the game including VR-specific, immersive interactions such as two-handed pivot-aiming, manual reload options, and immersive sprinting. These deeper VR interactions have been heavily requested by the Larcenauts community, and their addition injects the needed elements for the optimal VR-shooter experience. The Larcenauts: Immersion Overload update is available today, free of charge. Larcenauts is available now with full cross-play support across Oculus devices including Oculus Quest, Oculus Quest 2, Oculus Rift and Oculus Rift-S (cross-buy supported), as well as SteamVR, via the compatible HTC Vive, Valve Index, and Oculus Rift headsets for an MSRP of $29.99.

Immersive controls are just the beginning of today’s Larcenauts: Immersion Overload update. To take players even deeper into the game world, Impulse Gear has integrated full native support for the bHaptics TactSuit vest, a third-party wearable that delivers physical feedback via 40 haptic points wrapped around the upper body. Cross-play lobbies are now online and operational, allowing Steam and Oculus players to join lobbies across platforms. And spatialized voice over IP (VOIP) lets players communicate with their teammates in a more realistic way when in the social lobby. To celebrate today’s update, Impulse Gear is giving away a new in-game cosmetic skin for Calima, the Infiltrator, for free to all users who login before the end of July 2021. With extensive new features and expanded support, there has never been a better time for players to jump in and experience VR’s first cross-play hero shooter for themselves!

New in the Larcenauts: Immersion Overload update:

  • Manual Reloads: An immersive new reload system option that lets the player perform actions to manually reload their weapon for maximum realism. This, with Style and Automatic reload options allow players to tailor the reload mechanic to their liking.
  • Two-handed Pivot Aiming: Players can now select an all-new aiming mode that uses the position of both hands to aim weapons, keeping them in control and in the action.
  • Immersive Sprint: A new sprint mode option where players retain control of their hands while sprinting. Players can simply aim their weapon downward to start sprinting.
  • Cross-play Lobbies: Cross-play lobbies are now live. SteamVR and Oculus players can now join each other’s lobby by entering a player’s unique lobby code.
  • Native support for bHaptics TactSuit vests: This third-party wearable interprets in-game actions into haptic feedback that the player can feel when wearing the bHaptics TactSuit vest.
  • Free New skin for Calima: Impulse Gear are giving away a brand-new cosmetic skin for Calima, the Infiltrator, for free to all users who login before the end of July, 2021.

  • Run and Gun in Battles Across the Ludus Galaxy: Battle against other heist crews in 3 unique game modes, such as territories-style Refuel, capture-the-flag-style Uplink, and classic team deathmatch across 4 different maps including Relay, Excavation, Blight and Hazard Pay.
  • Full Cross-Play Support Across VR Platforms and Devices: Fully supported cross-play across Oculus and SteamVR devices allows players to jump online, grab a friend and form a crew, regardless of VR platform.

Larcenauts is the first team-based, 6v6 multiplayer, hero shooter for VR. Players choose from a diverse cast of 8 playable Specialists with larger-than-life personalities such as the Grenadier, the Infiltrator, and even a sentient Mushroom. Goblins of Elderstone Receives Major Updates on Road to Full Launch

Developer Diary reveals details about new Gods and Heroes updates and plans for launch

Auckland, New Zealand — July 22, 2021 — Outerdawn announced today that the new “Gods of Elderstone” update is live in the city-builder with a survival twist, Goblins of Elderstone, with the “Heroes of Elderstone” update coming soon.

Watch Outerdawn’s Studio Manager and creative director behind Goblins of Elderstone discuss the new updates and the direction the game has taken during its time in Early Access

Your goblins can now pray to the gods of your pantheon, expecting their religious needs to be fulfilled through blessings from their priests. Each god in your pantheon requires a dedicated temple in order for priests to spread the blessings of each specific god. A delicate balance must be achieved to please all of the gods, or you will feel their wrath. Additionally, some gods have a champion that is unlockable if you have enough Faith.

Goblins of Elderstone is a unique take on a city-building game with a far more chaotic, goblin-fuelled survival approach to the genre. Your emphasis is not only on buildings and commerce in your town, but on crafting the culture of its inhabitants and making sure they are happy. In addition to gathering resources and crafting structures, you must engage a layer of diplomacy as you navigate relationships with neighboring tribes, intrepid explorers, bandits, heroes and even gods. Your wits and skill at bartering/bribery negotiations, as well as the occasional pillaging, will help you transform Elderstone from a small village into an empire to be reckoned with.

Goblins of Elderstone is currently available in Early Access on Steam for 19.99 USD / £15.49 / €16.79

‘90s Cross-Country Teen Crime Adventure The Big Con from Mighty Yell & Skybound Games Lands August 31 on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One & Steam

‘90s Cross-Country Teen Crime Adventure The Big Con from Mighty Yell & Skybound Games Lands August 31 on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One & Steam

You (yes, you!) can audition to voice all thirteen (13!) spoken words of dialogue
in The Big Con’s new community contest

LOS ANGELESJuly 22, 2021 — Indie developer Mighty Yell and publisher Skybound Games are paging to say the ‘90s cross-country adventure game The Big Con will launch on Aug. 31, 2021, for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam for $14.99 / €12,49 / £10.74. A classic teenage coming-of-age story, The Big Con is a hilarious trip featuring open-ended narrative, sneaky situations, puzzles and exploration… and lots of petty theft and grifting!

Release Date & Behind-the-Scenes Trailer:

Mighty Yell’s new behind-the-scenes trailer announcing The Big Con’s release date is a deep dive into the ongoing process to audition for the game’s sweeping, sprawling screenplay, an unabridged manuscript of thirteen weighty words (not a typo, it’s 13 words long). With each individual syllable carrying so much theatrical gravitas, there seemed only one logical solution: invite fans to submit their own recorded performances for a chance to have their voice appear in the game itself!

Mighty Yell asked some of gaming’s most accomplished thespians to spread the word about this search for the industry’s next big stars. Four greats who will not appear in The Big Con itself, but who are featured in the game’s new trailer — Troy Baker (The Last of Us, Uncharted), Dave Fennoy (The Walking Dead), Melissa Hutchison (The Walking Dead), and Erika Ishii (Apex Legends, Destiny 2) — have helped kick off this fun community contest today.

From July 22 until July 29, those based in the United States can submit your very own audition tape! We’ve made it radically easy for anyone to rival some of the industry’s best voice talent. It’s never been simpler: just go to https://www.thebigcongame.com/bigcontest to learn how.

The Big Con is all about Ali, a teenage con artist trying to save her mom’s video store from unscrupulous loan sharks any way she can. In this colorful adventure filled with punchy puzzles and dialogue, how you make that money is up to you: travel across the country picking pockets and locks, persuading marks, sneaking around in disguises, and even profiting off the latest plushie fad.

The Big Con Features:

  • An irreverent comic adventure game with open-ended situations, puzzles, and exploration.
  • Crime is cool now — sneak, pickpocket, wear disguises, and grift and con anyone you can!
  • Mouth off! Talk your way into deals and out of trouble across the country.
  • Meet a cast of weird ‘90s characters and rip ‘em off (or help them, if that’s your deal).
  • Original theme song from Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego? house band Rockapella!
  • Call home and argue with your mom!

The Big Con is available to wishlist now on Steam.

OSAKA, Japan – July 21, 2021 – The colorful, endlessly upbeat 3D platformer Super Sami Roll, created by Sonzai Games and published by X PLUS, is launching today on Steam!

Inspired by ‘80s and ‘90s platformers where players roll a ball through beautiful game worlds (like Marble Madness and Super Monkey Ball), Super Sami Roll effortlessly delivers the high-rise thrills, rolling hills, and adorable characters reminiscent of gaming’s golden days.

In Super Sami Roll, you need to get through 12 fun-filled hours of content to help Sami rescue his friend Vera from a meanie who calls himself “Albert VII.” Cruise past beautiful green fields, deserts dotted with magnificent pyramids, dangerous oozing volcanoes, frigid ice lands, and many other memorable places to take Albert VII down a peg … or two (yep, Albert V sounds about right!). Grappling hooks? That’s so 2020. In this game, you get a grappling tongue to get out of sticky situations!

“With Super Sami Roll, I wanted to create a game that brings back the ‘warm and fuzzy’ feeling we all experienced back in the ‘90s (and early ’00s) playing 3D platformers – particularly the rolling kind,” says Sergio Matta, CEO and lead developer at Sonzai Games. “However, I wanted more than to simply pay homage to a beloved genre. I want to give players something new … and that’s precisely where the grappling tongue comes in! This core mechanic – plus a living, breathing world filled with personable NPCs – is what makes Super Sami Roll special.”
