Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition Coming Soon, Plus Details on Upcoming Special Events and Updates in GTA Online, and More

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition and More Coming Soon – Plus Details on Upcoming Special Events and Updates in GTA Online

Later this month marks a very special anniversary for Rockstar Games: 20 years since the original release of Grand Theft Auto III — the game that set players loose in the sprawling, three-dimensional metropolis of Liberty City with a new and unprecedented sense of freedom and immersion. In addition to carving a new path for the open world genre, Grand Theft Auto III established Grand Theft Auto as a cultural phenomenon, alongside its two subsequent — and equally legendary — entries in the series, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

We’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the Grand Theft Auto fans who have supported the games over the past two decades. Your love and appreciation for these games has helped push the Grand Theft Auto series forward with every iteration.

In honor of the upcoming anniversary, today we are excited to announce that all three games will be coming to current generation platforms later this year in Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and the Rockstar Games Launcher on PC. Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition will feature across-the-board upgrades including graphical improvements and modern gameplay enhancements for all three titles, while still maintaining the classic look and feel of the originals. We’re extremely excited to share more about these groundbreaking titles in the coming weeks — stay tuned!

To prepare for launch, we will begin removing existing versions of the classic titles from digital retailers next week. For more information, please visit Rockstar Games Support. In addition, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition will be coming to iOS and Android in the first half of 2022.

Plus, as part of the 20th anniversary celebration for GTAIII, look for a cavalcade of special gear to collect in Grand Theft Auto Online throughout upcoming events this Fall, including commemorative clothing and liveries.

We’ll have more details on how to acquire these in the weeks ahead as part of our ongoing events in GTA Online. This month’s GTA Online events will also have some special surprises — including the upcoming possibility of some unusual activity occurring in and around Southern San Andreas…

We are also continuing to improve and evolve GTA Online. As you may have noticed, we recently began cycling select Adversary Modes and Player Jobs in and out of the game. GTA Online offers a hugely diverse array of gameplay, hosting over 1,000 Rockstar-created Jobs and tens of millions more player-created Jobs since launch. By beginning to cycle the Rockstar-created Jobs in and out of the game over time, not only will we be freeing up space for new missions and modes in the future, but we are also improving the game’s matchmaking by focusing the community on a more streamlined list of Jobs from week-to-week.

This will also allow us to bring back Jobs at various times for special or seasonal events and help reduce some of the lesser-liked Jobs, as well as helping surface some of our slept-on classics or the community’s quirkier favorites alongside special bonuses, like this past week’s return of Offense Defense, Sumo, and more.

We are also looking at ways to improve the GTA Online experience for new and returning players in the upcoming release of GTA Online for the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S next March – stay tuned to the Rockstar Newswire for details on this and more information about the expanded and enhanced releases of GTAV and GTA Online in the months to come.

And later this year, get ready to go on an exciting new adventure in GTA Online as some well-known contacts and familiar friends need your help in expanding their “legit business” — with many more surprises soon to be revealed!

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition Revealed for 2021/2022 Release

Rockstar Games has announced that they will be bringing the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition to the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, Switch, and PC sometime later this year with a mobile version of the collection launching sometime in the first half of 2022. Outside of a teaser trailer, Rockstar has kept details scarce revealing only that the package will include Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas all of which have been given “across-the-board upgrades” with graphics and modern gameplay enhancements though they did note that they will be maintaining a “classic look and feel.”

The company has noted that since these collections are being released, they will be removing all forms of the game’s from digital storefronts next week though details about things such as the soundtrack, the price, and whether or not the game’s will be sold separately, digitally only, or all in a bundle have been kept under wraps but Rockstar has stated that they will be releasing more information over the next few weeks.

MARVEL’S GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY RELEASES MUSIC VIDEO FOR STAR-LORD BAND’S SECOND SINGLE “ZERO TO HERO,” PLUS FULL LICENSED TRACKLIST

Get ready to flarkin’ rock

MONTRÉAL, CANADA (October 8, 2021) – Today, Eidos-Montréal debuted a new, unapologetically ‘80s music video to celebrate the official release of “Zero to Hero,” the second face-melting single from Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy’s Star-Lord Band. Both of the group’s singles are also featured on the official Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Original Video Game Playlist, which has also been released today.

Inspired by classic ‘80s cartoons, the animated music video amps up the nostalgia factor to 11 and gives viewers a taste of why superfan Peter Quill was inspired to adopt the “Star-Lord” moniker in the game’s universe. But that’s not all! Eidos-Montréal has also released a vintage VHS recording of the Star-Lord Band performing the single on stage in all their long-haired glory, and combined it with the animated music video to create a headbangin’ extended cut.

All songs on the playlist will also be featured in the game itself, with an optional toggle for players who wish to replace them with stream-safe alternatives as needed.

PlayStation 4 and Xbox One users can now join Enlisted battles

Our next-gen military shooter welcomes new players

Gaijin Entertainment and Darkflow Software announce that the online military shooter Enlisted, initially developed only for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S is now also available on the previous generation consoles. Owners of PlayStation 4 and Xbox One have access to the Invasion of Normandy and Battle of Tunisia campaigns, while the Battle for Moscow will be added in the next update. Naturally, they will be playing on the same servers as existing players on other platforms. The Battle of Berlin campaign is also planned for the previous generation of consoles and  will become available in a few months.

The release of Enlisted on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will allow players who have not yet had the opportunity to obtain more modern hardware to join the game. The development team has worked hard for over a year on optimizing performance and carefully adapting the massive and intense Enlisted battles for the previous generation of consoles. As a result, battlefields full of soldiers, armored vehicles and aircraft fighting simultaneously in the same location, can run at a stable 30 FPS, even on the basic PlayStation 4 and Xbox One systems. The content of all available campaigns is exactly the same as on the newer generation of consoles and PC.

“As with any transition to a new generation of game consoles, the previous one maintains a huge user base for a few years” – Anton Yudintsev, co-founder of Gaijin Entertainment, explains. – “We were not sure that it was technically possible to release Enlisted on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, therefore we launched the game only on next-gen platforms where we achieved 4K@60FPS performance. We’re glad that now even more gamers can try our game”.

When players decide to upgrade their consoles from the PS4 to PS5 or from Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S to enjoy a better version of Enlisted, they will of course keep all of their progress and purchases.

Enlisted is available for download on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One for free in the relevant digital stores for each respective platform.
