Monday, 13th December 2021 – Team17 has today revealed a sleighful of updates and Christmas-themed goodies it has in store for players over the holiday season. 

Award-winning action-platformer Blasphemous recently received its third and final free content expansion, ‘Wounds of Eventide’, which is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch™ and PC. The update adds new levels, bosses, items and secrets as well as unveiling the final chapter of The Penitent One’s first story.

Cosy life sim Hokko Life gets into the holiday spirit on PC, adding a range of Xmas-themed items to its seasonal store; snowperson, gingerbread house and Christmas tree crafting; and three new languages, including Brazilian Portuguese, Korean, and Polish.

Monster Sanctuary today receives an update for all platforms, adding a new multiplayer season and a host of player-requested quality of life improvements.

Greak: Memories of Azur receives Xbox One and PlayStation®4 support on
14^th December; while Steam Early Access RTS Age of Darkness: Final Stand adds a trove of new content on the 15^th December, including the new ‘Festerling’ enemy and ‘Treasury’ building. Sheltered 2 also receives an update on 15th December, adding a host of community-requested tweaks and features as well as revealing the title’s 2022 roadmap.

Funky cult management sim Honey, I Joined A Cult gets a pre-Christmas update in Steam Early Access on 15^th December, allowing players to spruce up their cult’s headquarters with decorations including penguins, snowmen, candy canes and more. The update also introduces random events, which can come in the form of failed bank heists by roving bands of clowns to pastry-fuelled riots; and the ‘Quirks’ system, which assigns cultists a variety of unique character traits that players will have to reckon with as they manage their compound, such as a penchant for night-time work or a strong admiration for gruel.

In the new trailer, fans are given a closer look at the mysterious land of Athia and meet some of its last remaining citizens. Players also learn about the impending corruption called the “Break”: a devastating miasma that relentlessly corrupts everything it touches. Frey has somehow mysteriously survived this strange phenomenon, offering Athia a beacon of hope.

New action-packed gameplay featured in the trailer showcases how Frey’s quest in Athia will take her through a variety of diverse environments where she will learn how to use magic parkour to traverse across the unknown land in a fast and fluid manner, as well as her magic abilities to battle Athia’s dangerous beasts that she will encounter on her journey, including the newly revealed Breakzombies and Jabberwock.

Players were also introduced to a new character in Forspoken—the maddened evil sorceress, Tanta Prav—who is voiced and performed by The Walking Dead’s (TV Series) Pollyanna McIntosh. “It’s been wild playing Tanta Prav and I’m excited for players to meet her and experience her as Frey does: a remorseless, unrelenting powerhouse, full of secrets,” said McIntosh. “I think she will prove to be a ruthless adversary for players as they follow Frey on her journey in the land of Athia.”

New animated trailer shows off mystical, subterranean world

Nová Dubnica, Slovakia – December 10th, 2021 – straka.studio with the help from SUPERHOT PRESENTS and Slovak Arts Council have today revealed that their upcoming island-shifting action-roguelike Loot River will be part of Game Pass for PC and Xbox platforms upon its launch next year. Get ready to embark upon a journey down an otherworldly river in search of knowledge and loot!

To commemorate this occasion, straka.studio has revealed an all new animated trailer that shows off Loot River’s waterlogged labyrinths in style. And if you’d like to try the game out for yourself, a new demo was just made public earlier this week on Xbox One, Xbox Series S&X, and PC. This demo allows players to play through the tutorial, a sample wooden level, and an initial dungeon run. While the full game will be procedurally-generated, this demo is locked to one seed to merely give players a taste of Loot River’s unique isle-shifting mechanic and combat system.

Set in a series of procedurally-generated labyrinths, Loot River is a dungeon-crawling action-roguelike that combines the tense, real-time combat and dark fantasy stylings of Dark Souls with the spatial block-shifting puzzles of Tetris.

Armed with the power of the Relic, players can shift the ground beneath them, sliding floating ruins together in a series of tile puzzles. As players venture through these endless catacombs, they’ll encounter beasts, lost travelers, and bosses. These cosmic grottos offer a wealth of new weapons and gear to discover, as well as unholy knowledge to unearth for permanent upgrades.

Drawn to shards of an unholy relic, wandering nomads have found themselves in a perpetual cycle of life and death, losing their sanity as they journey through endless parallel realities, devouring each other to absorb the knowledge of their fellow travelers.
