NEW AND UNIQUE LIVE-ACTION MYSTERY-ADVENTURE THE CENTENNIAL CASE: A SHIJIMA STORY NOW AVAILABLE

Players Will Take on the Immersive Mystery Story, Reveal the Culprit and Uncover the Truth behind the Case!

LONDON (MAY 12, 2022) SQUARE ENIX LTD. and video game developer h.a.n.d., Inc. announced today that The Centennial Case: A Shijima Story, an immersive live-action mystery-adventure game is now available on the PlayStation®5 (PS5™) console, PlayStation®4 (PS4™) console, Nintendo Switch™ system and PC (STEAM®).

Watch the launch trailer for The Centennial Case: A Shijima Story here:

Directed by Koichiro Ito (Metal Gear Solid V) and produced by Junichi Ehara (NieR:Automata, BABYLON’S FALL), The Centennial Case: A Shijima Story centers around the ill-fated Shijima family, who have experienced a chain of inexplicable deaths in their family over the past century. Yasuhito Tachibana, producer of Netflix’s The Naked Director, serves as Cinematographer and Scenario Director, taking visual storytelling to a new level with high-quality cinematography and thrilling live-action.

Players will take on the role of mystery writer, Haruka Kagami and use their powers of deductions to uncover the truth behind four murder cases that have taken place in the Shijima household over the last one hundred years. Immerse into an authentically traditional Japanese story, transcend time across different eras of Japan and collect information scattered throughout each era to uncover the truth and solve an age-old mystery.

The Centennial Case: A Shijima Story features compelling performances from Nanami Sakuraba as the games’ protagonist, Haruka Kagami and Yuta Hiraoka as Eiji Shijima, the second son of the Shijima family who returns home to help unravel the mystery behind his ill-fated family. A cast of talented Japanese actors bring this enigmatic Japanese adventure to life, depicting an array of characters throughout each period setting.

“The Centennial Case: A Shijima Story is a game that takes the form of a live-action drama surrounding the murders within the Shijima family that have taken place over a century, which the player will help the characters to solve. The in-game videos have been filmed in live action, so please keep an eye out for the subtle expressions, gestures and movements that can’t be captured in games that use CG graphics! I hope you’ll enjoy unravelling the mysteries behind the incident together with Haruka!” Said Nanami Sakuraba who plays the role of Haruka Kagami.

“My first impression of this story that spans different time periods was to think, “Is this even possible?” and, “This script is really something!” The sheer volume of lines and the tight filming schedule were dizzying, but I think the choice to intentionally film sections that could quite plausibly have been created with CG in an analogue style lends a wonderful retro feel to the game and gives a greater sense of realism to the performance. I’d love for players to fully experience this story about the mysteries of the Shijima family, the murders, and love, that transcends time and space.” added Yuta Hiraoka who lends his talents as Eiji Shijima.

Those who purchase the game before May 19, 2022, will receive the base game, The Centennial Case: A Shijima Story BEHIND THE SCENES, comprising of 50 minutes interview footage and The Centennial Case: A Shijima Story mini soundtrack composed by Yuki Hayashi, Daiki Okuno, Ryoshi Takagi, Shuichiro Fukuhiro and Shogo Yamashiro.

World of Warships Announces
Longest Night of Museums 2022,
Supporting a Global Network of Naval Museums and Charity Organizations

The event returns for a second year offering an opportunity to win an all-expenses-paid trip to one of the iconic museums

AUSTIN, TEXAS (May 12, 2022) — Wargaming, publisher and developer of the naval multiplayer free-to-play game World of Warships has today released the details of its Longest Night of Museums initiative, designed to publicize and support naval museums across the world. Beginning May 18, 2022, World of Warships will publish one museum showcase article per week, giving insight into each museum’s naval history. Museum curators will bring their museums to life in these articles providing fascinating information, assets, and historical details for their respective museums.

World of Warships has hidden characters in the articles to encourage readers to read all the stories and uncover the special bonus code. The first person to crack the code will win a five day, all-expenses-paid trip for two people to one of the naval museums featured in the articles.

These articles will also feature embedded video footage of last year’s Longest Night of Museums event, which had over 1.4 million people attend a virtual tour of the more than 15 naval museums from around the world which participated via Twitch and YouTube.

With the continuation of the COVID-19 pandemic, museums have been hit incredibly hard over the past two years. Beyond the financial impact, many lack their own digital platforms to share their exhibits and make their desired impact on the world remotely. Therefore Wargaming, the developer of the world’s most historically accurate, naval battle video game World of Warships, continues to support these museums and bring them in front of a wider audience.

The event has been publicly celebrated by the World of Warships community, which stands at over 50 million players, and museums from last year’s event lauded the impact it has had on their organizations:

“Joining in the international Longest Night of Museums was a great experience for us. We got to communicate directly with people from all over the world, many who had probably never heard of us before,” said Johannes Olsson, Museum Educator, Maritiman, Göteborg, Sweden. “At the same time, we got interesting glimpses of some of the sister museums all over the world, many of whom we would dearly like the opportunity to visit in person. We look very much forward to joining the event this year as well.”

“Longest Night of Museums is an incredible tribute to the valour of the men and women throughout history whose heroic actions in battle have shaped the world we live in today,” said Elissa Lines, Executive Director, Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum. “We are proud to tell the Pearl Harbor story in this new and innovative way.”

The Longest Night of Museums 2022 can be followed via the World of Warships website here.

No Ifs or Putts as Frenetic Deck-Builder Golfie Launches into Early Access on 26th May for PC

Mini golf meets a deck-building, roguelike in this colourful, supremely playable genre mash-up

Bristol UK – 12th May 2022. Triheart Studio and Yogscast Games today announced Golfie, an eccentric, fast-paced mini golf experience that combines deck-building and roguelike mechanics, launches into Early Acccess on PC via Steam on 26th May.

See Golfie in action in the trailer here:

Golfie challenges players to complete 18 procedurally generated holes by combining standard mini golf shots with randomly drawn shot and effect cards which players collect as they progress through their round.

Each run requires strategy, planning, and skill by building unique decks which can unlock incredible new ways to play. Card powers can vary from increasing the distance or elevation of a standard shot, through to out-of-this-world abilities and power-ups which can be combined to dazzling effect. But be careful: finish over par or fall into traps and players will lose energy – and once it’s totally depleted, the run is over.

The game debuts into Early Access with a thrilling single-player roguelike campaign, which can be played via random courses, Daily Runs and individual seeds – each with their own global leader board. The further players get through a run, the more progression points they will gain, allowing them to unlock an ever-expanding list of cosmetic items with which they can customise their ball. Eventually complete a full 18 holes and players will gain access to the daunting endless mode, which is where the real challenge begins.

Golfie will evolve during Early Access thanks to feedback from the wonderful community. Planned content updates include online multiplayer (scheduled to arrive in the Summer), expanded card powers and perks, plus a new series of hazards which will challenge even the most experienced Golfie players.

“Golfie is unlike any golf or deckbuilding game you have ever played,” says Simon Byron, Director of Publishing, Yogscast Games. “It’s been a real pleasure working with Triheart Studio to create something so uniquely enjoyable that it defies comparison. Some of the shot combinations during the public playtests have been eye-poppingly joyful – elements of skill and chance combining to create nothing you’ve seen in a golf game before. I’m really, really looking forward to seeing what players can do when the game launches in a couple of weeks.

Golfie key features:

  • Pitch and putt your way through beautiful courses set across four distinct biomes
  • No two courses are the same, thanks to the procedurally generated nature of each hole
  • Collect cards, coins and perks on your way to golfing glory
  • Create incredible shot synergies which can result in extraordinarily powerful ways to play – can you get a hole in *none*?
  • Play entirely randomised courses, or compete against the world in Daily Runs, which offer one chance to play the same course as the rest of the world
  • So much more to come.

Golfie is available on 26th May via Steam priced at £14.99 / €17.99 / $17.99, with a 20 per cent launch discount. It has been developed by Triheart Studio and will be published by Yogscast Games.
