Save the Golden Egg in Fiesta Online’s Easter Event

Lots of holiday-themed content waits for players to discover, including an epic rabbit-eared opponent!

Hamburg, April 12, 2022 – Easter is coming soon and it’s time to cultivate beloved traditions again – and Fiesta Online is no exception! gamigo is delighted to announce this springtime holiday will be making its way into the mystic MMO starting today.

The first thing players may notice upon logging into the game is the appearance of Magic Easter Trees all around the towns of Isya. Once players witness their beauty, they’ll probably feel inclined to dance around them, which will reward players with a special Easter buff.

Can you stop the destruction of the Golden Egg? If you’re up to the challenge, join a group of fellow players and go on the Kingdom Quest “Protect the Golden Egg” together. Defend this special egg against waves of monsters and use any surprise at your disposal (AKA mines) to deal damage to those monsters trying to destroy the Golden Egg.

With a belly full of Easter eggs, players should feel strong enough to face any challenge.  With that said, it’s time to face a special opponent – Chonk Chongus is waiting for you! Head to one of the Free Battle Zones to face this rabbit-eared hunk equipped with a carrot MG. If you defeat him, he will drop special Festival Eggs.

Easter is also an opportunity to dress in style and get your teammates in the egg-hunting spirit. How about a chic Easter bunny look for your own shield, some bunny ears or a Choco Rabbit as Pet? Just a few of many new Easterly items players can earn.

The Easter event in Fiesta Online will take place between April 12 and May 10.

Also starting today, the NPC Raul can be found in the cities of Isya, usually close to a blacksmith. When Raul entered Isya, his flock of sheep became corrupted, and he seeks the player to remedy that for him. Helping Raul will not only yield a special sheep-y mount and a couple of enhancement stones, but also keeping close to him will grant players a buff that will increase their success rate of enhancing items. This Enhancement Buff event will run until May 10.

Fore! Radiant, Run-Based, Roguelike Mini Golf – Golfie Public Playtest Launches Today

Fusing deck-building, roguelikes and mini golf, Golfie hits PC Early Access next month

Bristol UK – 12 April 2022. Danish developer Triheart Studio has announced that Golfie, a fresh take on mini golf that blends together deckbuilding and roguelikes to create a new way to hit the fairway, is heading into a public playtest from today, 12 April until 18 April.

See Golfie in all its golfing glory in the Golfie Trailer here:

Golfie is a unique take on minigolf in which players use cards with fun abilities to take their shots, resulting in a game which adds the strategic planning of deckbuilding to the tactical play of mini golf.

Starting with a collection of 10 shot cards, players attempt runs of 18 procedurally generated holes across four distinct biomes, using coins, gems, vending machines and bonuses to modify their deck. These cards can be drawn and their effects applied to standard shots to create an almost infinite number of combinations ways to hit the ball.

A global leader board will compare scores against other players, with those that successfully complete 18 holes then able to unlock a special ‘endless mode’ for truly infinite play. Daily runs will pit all players against the same procedurally generated course.

Since the last public playtest, Golfie has seen some changes and developments in its gameplay, including a new, unseen Cherry Garden level, newly refined level progression, and multiple new cards – which can be played for the first time in this new public playtest.

Card effects in Golfie can vary from simply increasing the distance or elevation of a standard shot to applying a whole host of unique and imaginative abilities which can all be combined to dazzling effect. Expect to add a little twist to shots with the help of:

  • Emergency Parachute – activate to slow the ball’s travels mid-air.
  • Portal – enter one half of the portal and emerge from another. Where you put both pieces are up to you.
  • Impact Grenade – Clear paths with exploding balls.
  • Inflate – swell to an enormous size and float majestically across the environment.
  • Jetpack – when activated provides a continuous burst of upwards motion.
  • Jump – activate mid-air to reach higher levels or skilfully jump-shoot over an obstacle
  • Magnetic Field – pull the ball towards the centre; can be placed before a shot is taken or positioned down the course.
  • Repulsive Field – repel the ball away from its centre.
  • Shrink – the ball can pass through smaller gaps in the course, and requires less power to travel distances.
  • Sticky Paste – enables the ball to attach itself to the next thing it touches.

New cards debuting in today’s playtest:

  • Balloon – activate to deploy some balloons that lift the ball for three seconds.
  • Recall – activate to warp back to the spot you shot from.
  • Jump Pad– place a jump pad that will launch the ball upon contact.
  • Redirector – place an object that redirects the balls path in the chosen direction.
  • Wall – place temporary walls on the map.

Golfie is the debut release from Danish developer Triheart Studio – a husband and wife team formed from a shared love of experimental games. Golfie will launch into Early Access during Q2 2022, with fully playable single and multiplayer campaigns, with regular updates planned until full release.

“Whilst it may seem an unusual clash of genres, deckbuilding and mini golf actually perfectly complement each other,” says Sandra Lynggaard Fagerli, co-founder, Triheart Studios. “When we first toyed with a prototype, it was immediately apparent that we had something very special and very playable on our hands – and building upon that core idea every day has been a genuine joy.”

Golfie is due for release into Early Access during Q2 2022 and will be published by Yogscast Games.

The Golfie playtest is available now at: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1579020/

Players are encouraged to Wishlist the game on Steam and join the growing Golfie community on Discord where they will be able to help shape the development of the game.

GTFO gets a new update – adding three expeditions focusing on lore, and a new enemy

GTFO gets a new update – adding three expeditions focusing on lore, and a new enemy

STOCKHOLM, APRIL 12 – Swedish game developer 10 Chambers – formed by industry veterans known for PAYDAY: The Heist and PAYDAY 2 – launched their first title, GTFO, a 4-player co-op FPS, as Early Access in 2019 (with Version 1.0 launched in December 2021). Described as “Left 4 Dead meets Aliens,” it has gained notoriety for being challenging and requiring hardcore cooperation and communication. The game uses the Rundown concept, where the game is regularly updated with new expeditions (maps, scenarios, enemies, etc.) that replace the previous ones. Today, they’re releasing a new update that adds three expeditions focusing on lore and a new enemy.

GTFO takes place in a terrifying underground facility called “The Complex,” where you play a team of prisoners whose survival relies on your ability to communicate, coordinate – and count your bullets. To this date, 10 Chambers have delivered six significant and two more minor updates as part of their Rundown system, totaling 58 expeditions over two years. The game now gets one more update with three expeditions focusing on the story of GTFO – and adding a new enemy.

“Veteran players of GTFO will get to tie some loose ends of the story in GTFO with these three expeditions,” says Robin Björkell, Communications Director at 10 Chambers. “At the same time, it’s also interesting for new prisoners of the Complex, as the story will tie into what will happen in Rundown 7.0 – a big update planned for this summer.”

The new enemy that comes with the update will add new dangers to the already deadly Complex – and this time, from above.

“The new enemy has been called everything from the overly descriptive’ big flying enemy’ to ‘the giant meatball.’ It will be interesting to see what the community dubs this beast,” says Robin Björkell.

10 Chambers recently shared the 2022 roadmap of GTFO, outlining this update and two more significant updates – Rundown 7.0 and Rundown 8.0. The first will be released this summer, and the latter will be released later this year.

GTFO Rundown 6.5 Destination://EXTENDED is out now and free for everyone that owns GTFO.

GTFO is available on Steam. Interact with 10 Chambers on Twitter, Discord, YouTube, and Facebook, and join the Ambassador Program to access future perks.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga Review

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga

Developer: TT Games
Publisher: WB Games
Platforms: Xbox Series X Xbox OnePlayStation 4PlayStation 5, Nintendo SwitchPC (Reviewed)
Release Date: 5 April 2022
Price: $49.99 USD – Available Here $89.95 AUD – Available Here

Overview

No matter what is your genre of choice or favorite video game franchise, we all have that one guilty pleasure. Maybe even two. You might be a racing sim type of guy or play nothing but fighting games all day, but a game or two might slip through the cracks. Something that goes against your very own gaming persona but at the end of the day, you accept that guilty pleasure. I have more than one, but for today we will talk about the LEGO games. Are they my guilty pleasure because I just like the LEGO stuff? Not really. Maybe because I find it cheaper to spend $50 on a LEGO-themed game instead of hundreds on actual LEGO sets? Good point but still not true. The answer is simple. All the games so far from the LEGO series (in the past 10 years or so) including Marvel and DC and Lord of the Rings releases – all have one thing in common. They are just that good. Incredibly addictive, visually pleasing, and surprisingly funny. LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga just came out last week and I am here now to tell you why you should give it a go.

Story

Hmm, should I rename this section to “Stories” instead of “Story” considering how you will play through all of the movies? Maybe. In any case, this game takes you through quite the journey. You have multiple episodes starting from the very first Star Wars game and ending with The Last Jedi. Basically, every episode is about one movie from the franchise. After you complete each one you unlock a free play mode for the said episode and then the real fun starts. You’ll play through many iconic SW moments (“Luke, I AM your father” etc) with added humor. Even when serious scenes are modified with silly LEGO antics, they never feel forced or out of place. You just accept that it is how those characters are in that universe and that’s it.

Gameplay

LEGO games are known for rarely changing the formula and I can see why. After all, why fix something that isn’t broken? With all that said, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga gives us a few surprises. You can now combo your attacks with light and strong attacks and it is a useful skill, especially when certain enemies learn how to block so mixing up your attacks is a good way to break their block. You can now also upgrade your characters with more health, stronger attacks, and with some shared abilities as well (like attracting studs from far away and having collectibles shown on the map for all). Also, the game is huge. Like, you have no idea how huge. Even if you focus on the main story alone, after you complete all episodes you will be slightly over 20 hours of playtime. And side stuff? Oh dear, I have no idea where to even start with that. The game is filled with hidden special bricks, unlockable characters, and unlockable ships. Yeah, ships! LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga now comes with space battles. You can find a lot of things around the iconic SW planet; quests, new ships, characters, and so on. If anything, that’s one of the selling points of this game. As soon as you think you got it all figured out, the game is ready to surprise you with some new gimmick to completely blow your mind.

Visuals

I was really cautious when it came to this part since the previous LEGO game that I played (LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2) wasn’t really up to my expectations when it came to visuals. I can say that is now behind us, since LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is beyond amazing when we’re talking about the graphics. There is a lot of variety in locations and you’ll get to visit every famous one like Tatooine, Kashyyyk, and even Mos Eisley cantina. Everything is so good-looking that I think the game would benefit from a dedicated photo mode. But oh well, I guess you’ll have to be fast with taking screenshots while fighting with the LEGO Darth Vader. EVery big hub in the game feels incredibly lively due to a huge number of NPC characters going about their day. It is also incredibly fun to start shooting at one of them and watch the whole city population running away from you.

Audio

A lot of work went into the sounds and overall audio of the game and it is clearly shown in almost every detail. This game has hundreds and hundreds of characters, yet almost every one of those comes with specific sound effects (notably when running or getting hit) and idling animations. The same goes for sound effects for various ships and weapons. The music, in general, is also top-notch and after a while, you won’t be able to get that Mos Eisley cantina band theme song out of your head. Random & fun fact: a lot of characters in this game actually have it as a ringtone (don’t ask why Star Wars characters have cellphones, it’s just a silly LEGO thing).

Overall

I am now well over 22 hours of the game with only one episode left and I know that I will need at least 40 more hours to fully explore everything that LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga has to offer. In fact, one of the greatest things about this game is that it never feels repetitive or formulaic despite its above-average length. And as I said above, another selling point is the absolutely insane amount of side content. If you’re in the market for a game that will take away a month of your life and you’ll be perfectly fine with that – look no further.
