A New Trailer & Developer Diary to fire the Booster Engines for the road to release!

Sydney Australia, August 26thGoldKnights and Prime Matter are happy to announce the release dateoftheir anticipated 3rd Person, Action RPG “The Last Oricru”. On October 13th, TLO will be released digitally on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. A new announcement trailer invites players to delve into the adventures of Silver. The 350 years “young” (cryosleeps can take a hell of a time), sarcastic, and somewhat cynical space wanderer finds himself stranded on Wardenia. This SciFi/Medieval planet however doesn’t really welcome him with open arms… or does it? Silver gets dragged into a raging civil war over supremacy on the planet and it is up to the players choice and action to determine its outcome. The living and breathing world reacts to the players decisions and will offer completely different experiences on multiple playthroughs – considering Silver doesn’t repeat his mistakes. Actually… there are no mistakes, just “happy little accidents”.

The Last Oricru is designed as both a single player and (splitscreen & online multiplayer) coop experience with different difficulty settings to choose from.

A new Trailer introduces the brutality of the civil war on Wardenia and fuels the spaceship (oooops spoiler) to release:

World of Tanks ANZ Premier League rolls out Season Five

August 26th, 2022 — With a new team joining, player trading off-season and significant changes to the format and finals, the World of Tanks ANZ Premier League is kicking off Season Five with intense tank action today – Friday 26th August!

Returning to safeguard their crown, are Season Four champions the North Sydney Sentinels, and their formidable finals competitor, the South Sydney Skorpions. Taking the place of the Brisbane Bulldogs are a new team, the Cairns Comets, who’ve made their way up the ladder from the ANZBL.

The first ever player trade of the competition, Trax heads over to the Adelaide Action X, while Saxon joins the rebranded Christchurch Conquerors. The Melbourne Matildas and Penrith Panthers round out the six teams competing this season.

Kevin Zhu, World of Tanks ANZ Community Evangelist, says as the league gets bigger, the team use each new season to roll out significant changes and greater ways to engage with the community.

“We’ve introduced changes to the Grand Finals format, created more variety with map selection, and Mines have been substituted this season for the Siegfried Line. The ever-popular Fantasy League is back and we’re added in a new weekly prize pool,” said Kevin.

Season Five’s Grand Finals will now feature a ‘best of 9’ format, which means teams who earn their right to play on stage, live from Fortress Melbourne, will need to take five victories and spread their diversity across the map.

To heat up the competitiveness further, team can now no longer pick the same map as tiebreaker for the week. This means if a tiebreaker occurs, it will always be on a new map. So, commanders will have to be more prepared this season since maps will be unknown until mere hours before the match.

The season starts with the roll-out of Update 1.18, which will include a new line of Italian tanks. New tactics are sure to be displayed with the arrival of six tanks, including the Tier X TD (the Minotauro) and the re-worked AMX M4 54.

Last but certainly not least, the mighty Fantasy League returns, where the best over the competition can take home the lion’s share in prizing. This season, a weekly prize pool has been added where the person who earns the most points in that specific week, earns a cool 500 gold.

The World of Tanks ANZ Premier League (ANZPL) is a 5v5 competitive World of Tanks mode, featuring state-based teams, a double round robin group stage, a grassroots league in the ANZBL, and an offline LAN final to determine the best team across Australia and New Zealand.

Season Five will commence on August 26th 2022, with the finals culminating on November 26th 2022.

New from The Criminal Enterprises: Introducing The Grotti Brioso 300, LD Organics Bags, Sprunk vs. eCola Showdown, and Much More

Grab Benny’s New Grotti Brioso 300 WidebodyPlus, Collect LD Organics, a Sprunk vs. eCola Showdown, Track Down the Service Carbine Rifle, and Much More

Why do you drive a Brioso? For the laughs? For the awws? Or is it for the forced perspective? Yeah, Benny knows your tricks. And he’s here to help.

Pick up the Grotti Brioso 300 from the Benny’s Original Motor Works website in-game, then take it to the man himself in Strawberry for an upgrade to the Brioso 300 Widebody. Draw attention to all the right places with a range of unique mods and customization options.

LD Organics’ Latest Delivery Goes Awry

Lamar’s venture into the cannabis industry has hit another snag: a delivery of exotic flowers from Liberty City went missing, and now there are 100 bags of LD Organics product strewn about the greater Los Santos area.  Every package you collect will net you GTA$andRP— plus collect all 100 for an additional GTA$ bonus and exclusive LD Organics merchandise.

Sprunk vs. eCola: Choose Your Side

Brand loyalty is a capitalist’s fever dream: supply and demand syncing up in perfect harmony. But how can a true winner be decided when there are two names laying claim to the caffeinated beverage industry?

Sprunk and eCola are asking fans to stand up and literally be counted. Over the next three weeks, cast votes for your favorite carbonated drink while decked out in official merch to represent your preferred corner of the American soft drink market.

Cast your first vote by joining the official Sprunk or eCola Crew on Social Club. Then begin building up your Crew Rank — which will allow you to apply Crew colors and the iconic Sprunk or eCola logos to personal vehicles and clothing.

Cast as many votes as you like by pounding as many cans of the good stuff as your stomach can handle from Sprunk or eCola vending machines, Convenience Stores, or Snack Bowls across Los Santos and Blaine County — each one counts as a vote. To sweeten the deal even further, all Sprunk and eCola cans will be free for the duration of the event.

After September 14, votes will be counted and the number of Crew Members plus the tally of drinks consumed and Bodysuits claimed (more on that below) will determine the winner. The winning brand will reward all GTA Online players with their Hat, Parachute Bag, and Varsity Jacket along with a GTA$300K bonus for all those who’ve logged in during the event.

Free Hotring Sabre, Liveries, and More

Vacillators can get into the spirit of the Sprunk vs. eCola competition by claiming a free Declasse Hotring Sabre from Southern San Andreas Super Autos anytime this week and slapping a free eCola x Sprunk livery on it to complete the look. Additionally, all Sprunk and eCola-branded liveries available for other vehicles are also free.

While you’re out there making a statement, you’ll want to represent your team with some primary-colored apparel. Head to any clothing store’s front desk then select Outfits: Bodysuits to pick up a free Sprunk or eCola Bodysuit. Each Bodysuit claimed will also count as a vote for each brand. If you’re still on the fence, grab both — just be careful about appearing like a fair-weather fan in front of the die-hards.

And while beating down an opposing brand’s supporter doesn’t count as a vote, it may help rally others to your cause, especially since all Melee weapons are free this week. May the best brand win.

Triple Rewards for Southern San Andreas Super Sport Series Racers

As founding sponsors of the Southern San Andreas Super Sport Series, Sprunk and eCola are also proud to announce that the SSASS Series’ prize purses will be tripledthrough the end of the Sprunk vs. eCola event.

This Week in Simeon’s Showroom

Visit the Premium Deluxe Motorsport showroom this week to see how Simeon is cashing in on the Sprunk vs. eCola chaos. Scope out this collection of vehicles, take them for a crucial test drive, or purchase them outright:

  • The Bravado Buffalo STX in Metallic Bright Green and the Sprunk Racing livery
  • The Lampadati Michelli GT in Classic Red and a throwback Vintage eCola livery
  • The Ocelot Jugular in Classic Garnet Red and Sport Stripes livery (30% off this week)
  • A Classic Bright Green Benefactor Schwartzer
  • A Vapid Dominator ASP decked out in Matte Red paint and the Black Classic Sports Stripe livery

In the Window at the Luxury Autos Showroom

If you’re in the neighborhood surrounding Record A Studios, be sure to stop by the Luxury Autos showroom to check out what’s in this week’s window display, namely the Pearlescent Red Benefactor LM87 and the Pearlescent Bright Green Lampadati Corsita.

LSPD Sets Up Checkpoints at Crime Scenes Amid Violent Sprees

Word on the scanner is that the LSPD is spread thin trying to stem the tide of rising lawlessness, especially amid a rash of violent crimes. Leads and suspects are slim to nonexistent, but the city still allocated resources for cops to park next to chalk outlines on various scenes of the crime around town.

No one’s nailed the evidence down, though, so if you keep a low enough profile, you might be able to walk away with a piece of the new Service Carbine, plus a GTA$ and RP bonus. Gather enough components and you might be able to assemble a new weapon all for yourself.

4X GTA$ and RP on Lamar Contact Missions

Help LD out with some of his street-level business ventures — if you catch our drift — by completing Lamar Contact Missions and you’ll earn a whopping 4X GTA$ and RP, all week long.

3X GTA$ and RP on Stockpile

Slip into the cockpit, point yourself in the general direction of loot, and evade enemy dogfighters on your way back to base — both teams will earn 3X GTA$ and RP for competing in Stockpile. To help sweeten the pot, winning a single round of Stockpile this week will land you a GTA$200,000 bonus (delivered within 72 hours of completion).

On The Diamond Casino Podium: The Enus Paragon
Visitors running around The Diamond Casino & Resort’s lobby should slow down and give the Lucky Wheel its daily spin for the chance to win GTA$, RP, mystery prizes, and more — including the eCola-red Enus Paragon R spinning on the podium.

This Week’s Additional Vehicle Bonuses
Those on the latest generation of consoles can scope out Hao’s Premium Test Ride — a Coil Cyclone II equipped with the works, including a proprietary HSW livery. Plus, take your top-of-its-game vehicle on a long, scenic, high-speed drive between Pacific Bluffs and Mount Gordo in this week’s HSW Time Trial.

Meanwhile, the entire LS Car Meet’s gotten into the spirit of friendly competition this week: visit the Test Track to try green or red versions of the Vapid Hustler, Annis RE–7B, Grotti Bestia GTS on for size, speed, handling, and so forth. And determined types who place in the Top 4 in LS Car Meet Races for 4 days in a row will earn the keys to a Sprunk-green BF Club. Like the soda, it’s almost overwhelmingly refreshing.

Cursed to Golf Review

Cursed to Golf

Developer: Chuhai Labs
Publisher: Thunderful Games
Platforms: Switch (Reviewed), Xbox One, Playstation 4, PC, Playstation 5, Xbox Series X|S
Release Date: Available Now
Price: $19.99 – Available Here

Overview

There is nothing I appreciate more from this industry than an original idea. Cursed to Golf merges the sport of golf with a 2D rogue-like to create something truly unique for platforms. With an original story and a lot of charm, does this little title hold its own or does it prove some things are better left apart? Let’s find out.

Story

Cursed to Golf’s narrative plays out exactly like you would expect. After being struck by lightning right before a big game, our protagonist gets stuck in a place called Golf Purgatory and must golf their way out of a dark, whimsical world in order to regain his life. Yeah, it’s a bit of a dark story, but one told tongue-in-cheek to remain as chipper as its lovely art style. You’re joined by the ghost of a caddie and must golf like your life depended on it in a clever tale of revival. As joyous as it sounds on paper, I do feel that the story could have been a bit more satisfying as due to the rogue-like twists, it doesn’t evolve very much until you get much farther into the game. Despite that, there still is a lot to like here, as it still is very memorable and unique as a whole product.

Gameplay

This is where most of Cursed to Golf’s magic can be found due to some well-thought-out mechanics. Players are set within each stage and must get the ball in the hole to move forward. It sounds simple, but the player is limited to a set number of shots. To top that off, the difficulty in nailing these shots up the drama of the game, as without precise aim, you will be cursed to die and repeat the same holes repeatedly. Adding to the difficulty is the rogue-like element, which has the player focusing on utilizing special strategies such as smashing statues and examining the world ahead in order to continue.

To cure this difficulty, players can get power-ups that assist with shots, which are very useful and make use of in the form of cards. Abilities like the Rocketball can be used to get more momentum for your shot in tight spaces, while other power-ups can add more shots or more balls at once for a better chance of success. Simply finding and smashing statues or gaining cash can get more cards, which can deepen your techniques as you get closer to a hole.  There are a lot of holes (over 70), and the world is fun to explore – so most will enjoy the addictive and polished mechanics for what they are, as this title feels fit for fans of something a bit more pick-up and play.

That said, I did feel stuck back at the start a lot, as other than traveling through biomes, the game’s sense of progression is ultimately hurt by its core premise. There are some unique moments with bosses and such but getting to one can feel tedious due to the strict ball count and the reliance of trial and error. Again, this will be rewarding to most if they can overcome the obstacles ahead but may deter those looking for a more casual flow.

Visuals

Cursed to Golf feels like it would have been right at home on the Genesis or SNES with its 16-bit design. The stages are interesting and well designed, featuring fluid animations and sprites that are full of detail and personality. In a way, it feels like a perfect title to binge during the Halloween season, being reminiscent of Ghosts ‘n Goblins and the GBA Castlevania line. Sure, there could be a little more in terms of characters and such – but what is here works and no one should have any issue enjoying the sights to see within Purgatory.

Audio

The soundtrack is also great within this little gem. There is something special about hearing eerie howls during Cursed to Golf, as a lot of attention was paid to this area, and I think it will probably be just as memorable as the odd premise of the title for those that make the plunge. Sound effects are also on point, working with the music to create an atmosphere that captures the 16-bit art style well, giving this modern-day title some retro leanings for older gamers out there like myself.

Overall

Cursed to Golf isn’t perfect as I did have a couple of small hiccups with crashes during this review – but outside of the patchable, it may be one of the most difficult yet enjoyable titles to be released in a good while. Who knew being stuck golfing would be such a gnawing yet addictive experience? With a superb soundtrack and an original appeal, Cursed to Golf is one digital romp that is sure to capture a quick following due to its risky yet rewarding premise that proves some combinations are worth trying.

Overview

You know, if someone told me years ago that I would get to play the finest selection of AAA console exclusives on PC – I’d call them crazy. Especially if they’d tell me that they would all be home runs of releases, with great optimization and loads of bonus content. But that is exactly what’s happening right now. I had a chance to finally play Days Gone, Horizon Zero Dawn, and God of War. So, now I have Marvel’s Spider-Man in my hands. It comes with a bunch of visual tweaks and improvements, a boatload of bonus costumes for our Spidey, and (saving the best for last) “The City That Never Sleeps” DLC collection of three parts. So let’s dig right into it.

Story

Compared to most movie adaptations, the story is a breath of fresh air. We don’t have to watch Uncle Ben dying for 5th time, Peter Parker discovering his powers, meeting Mary Jane, and so on. All of that already happened here. We play as young but experienced Spidey. Smart, well connected, and well acquainted with most of his villains. In any case, we are thrown in the eye of the storm as we are trying to take down Kingpin in the opening level (that also serves as a tutorial for the game).

While we succeed in doing so, captured Kingpin warns Spidey that his imprisonment will create a power vacuum on the streets of New York. And what do you know, he’s right. New villains emerge (some having a personal vendetta against Kingpin), new alliances are formed and this game also shows us the origin story of some of the most acclaimed Spider-man supervillains.

Gameplay

I know there is something that you all want to know. Web swinging. How is it? Two words: insanely amazing. I have completed the game twice by now and every once in a while, I fire it up just to swing across the rooftops of New York. Just because it’s so damn fun. But let’s talk Spidey. Even when you start the game with zero skills and gadgets, you still have a nice selection of combat moves and tactics. You can use parts of the environment to hurl into enemy faces and dodging hits and gunfire is crucial for higher difficulties. I’d split Spidey’s skills into two sections. some are essential for combat and some for web swinging and traversal.

You gain EXP for defeating enemies, completing challenges, and doing main and side missions and whenever you hit a level up you might get a stat boost (such as faster swinging, more health) or unlock a new Spider-Man costume. Although, you only unlock it. To actually craft it you have to earn enough currency from random events around New York, find collectibles, solve research station puzzles, and such. It is a pretty clever way for a game to force you into doing every single piece of content while being subtle about it. The combat system in general reminds me of freeflow combat from the Batman Arkham series, although it might feel a bit stiff in comparison. Nevertheless, the freedom of combat air juggling enemies while zipping from one to the other never stops being fun.

A notable mention goes to Spidey gadgets, that can completely change the dynamics of combat later on. Clever use of trip mines, web bombs, and impact web in closed areas can instantly clear the room of any enemies. I call them my “one hit kill” gadgets.

Visuals

When it comes to this, I usually focus on level design, and art style and talk about them like there’s no tomorrow. But Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered manages to impress me with something that rarely stands out. The visual reinvention of characters. Although he is only for a short while in the game, what they did with Electro is nothing short of amazing. For example, the big star-shaped scar on his forehead is also an homage to his classic design. The visual transformation of Doc Ock as the story goes on is as subtle as it is degenerative in how it changes his mannerism, appearance, and (former) friendship with Peter Parker.

Audio

I said above that I’ll never get tired of web-swinging in this game. Do you know what else never gets old? That joy when orchestral music kicks in whenever I dive from a skyscraper or start web swinging. Also, if you pay close attention you might notice there are two modes of dialogue for our Spidey. Throughout the game, Spider-Man is often in touch with either Mary Jane or Yuri Watanabe through voice communication, and his dialogue and shortness of breath are dependent on his web swinging. Like, if you just spent the last 5 minutes zipping from one end of the city to another and Mary Jane calls you, you might notice Spidey has trouble catching his breath and talking. Simply amazing!

Overall

I saved the best for last aka the answer to “what exactly I get in this remastered release”? Aside from insane visuals and optimization (folks at Nixxes Software really outdid themselves), you get a bunch of free costumes for Spidey that you don’t have to craft. They were released on console gradually via updates but you now have them all from the start. There is also an incredibly fun photo mode (check the last linked screenshot to see my creative genius there) and as I mentioned before – “The City That Never Sleeps” DLC collection. It is a three-part campaign set after the events of the main game that introduces new enemies, achievements, villains, and outfits.

This is the part where I would close this review with “what more could you ask for”? but the only real answer here is “nothing”. You really can’t ask for anything else. Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered is the fullest of all full packages and the only regret I have after sinking close to 50 hours into the game and completing it twice is that I cannot erase my memory to experience it all over again.
