Street Fighter 6 Unveils the Way of the Warrior

Street Fighter 6 continues its momentum with knockout combinations of new info on World Tour and Battle Hub, four character reveals, the new Extreme Battle mode, plus the unveil of an upcoming Closed Beta Test!

First up, major updates for World Tour and Battle Hub were announced, including:

  • World Tour – Players will be able to create their own avatars with a multitude of customization options to reflect their personal styles and flair. As players progress through the immersive story mode, they’ll hone their avatar’s strength through Street Fights with various NPCs and meet masters like Ryu and Chun-Li who will teach them special moves from their own repertoires. All inhabitants and opponents of World Tour never back down from a challenge, and will seamlessly transition from conversation to battle.
  • Battle Hub – Players can take their customized avatars into the Battle Hub, which serves as the lobby area to find matches against other players from around the world including online tournaments. When two players sit down at one of the arcade cabinets placed back-to-back throughout the Battle Hub, they can kick-off a match with the whole Battle Hub as their audience. Players can also visit the Game Center to play retro Capcom classics like Street Fighter™ II and Final Fight™.

Second on the bill was the introduction of four World Warriors making their return to the streets:

  • Ken – Accusations of orchestrating a criminal plot have forced Ken, a former US National Fighting Champion and ex-VP of the Masters Foundation, to abandon his family and business to go into hiding. As a legend in the Street Fighter series, Ken packs a classic move set with new additions that keep things fresh.
  • Blanka – A kindhearted adventure tour guide and defender of nature, Blanka features his signature Electric Thunder and Rolling Attacks, plus brand new Blanka-chan Bombs and the return of his Lightning Beast move.
  • Dhalsim – A monk and yoga master, Dhalsim channels his familiar fire techniques from past games while also mastering moves like Yoga Fire, Yoga Arch, Yoga Comet, and Yoga Flame.
  • E. Honda – A globetrotting sumo wrestler, E. Honda combines old with new, bringing back his trademark moves like Hundred Hand Slap and Sumo Headbutt, plus his brand new Sumo Dash where he moves forward with a traditional sumo shuffle.

The all-new Extreme Battlemode enters the Fighting Ground to offer a new way to spice up matches with unconventional parameters. These fast and frantic battles are defined by new Rules and Gimmicks that make every match an experience anyone can enjoy. Rules define the victory condition for players, while Gimmicks add a new level of fun such as a stampeding bull sporadically interrupting a match.

Two more commentators were also revealed for the Real-Time Commentary feature, Kosuke Hiraiwa (play-by-play commentator) and His Excellency Demon Kakka (color commentator). Kosuke Hiraiwa is a well-known esports caster who lends his expertise and professionalism to Street Fighter 6. H.E.Demon Kakka is the lead singer of Japanese heavy metal band Seikima-II. While they will commentate your matches in Japanese, there will be accompanying subtitles for any of the 13 supported languages displayed on the screen if they are selected.

Lastly, a Closed Beta Test will take place from Oct. 7-10, 2022 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam with cross-play enabled!  The Closed Beta Test will include Ranked Match, Casual Match, Battle Hub Match, Open Tournament, Extreme Battle, Game Center, and Training Mode. New Threats Rise in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Title Update 2

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak opened the TGS2022 Capcom Online Program with a fiery new trailer of the rising threats facing Elgado Outpost, and the new tools at hunters’ disposal when Title Update 2 arrives on September 29. The previously announced return of Flaming Espinas from Monster Hunter™ Frontier sets the stage for another blazing beast’s reveal: Violet Mizutsune. This creature’s alluring bubbles are actually filled with a highly combustible gas that can turn any graceful movement into an inferno of white-hot flame. Finally, an Elder Dragon capable of overcoming the affliction has been sighted. Risen Chameleos has managed to achieve symbiosis with the Qurio, and through this diabolical union has gained incredible power and even more devious attacks. Hunters bold enough to challenge these overwhelming foes will receive materials for crafting new weapons and armor complete with new skills.

Additionally, a new tier of Anomaly Quests will be added, and will include challenging targets like Gore Magala and Espinas. Anomaly Investigations are also being expanded, with an increased level cap of 120, and new afflicted materials. Hunters crafty enough to survive the challenge will be able to unlock new options for Qurious Crafting, including added Anomaly Slots and other new upgrades for weapons. Fashion Hunters also have reason to rejoice, as Title Update 2 will introduce layered weapons. This system enables hunters to change the appearance of their weapon to combine their favorite stats and designs. Finally, this update also includes new paid DLC such as the Master Arlow layered armor set, layered weapons, gestures, poses, hairstyles, and more.

New Event Quests will continue to arrive every week, and A-List Hunters eager for even more challenges can look forward to future title updates, as new monsters and more are just around the corner with Title Update 3 launching in late November.

Spacetime Distortions Unleash New Exoprimal Story, Dinosaur, Exosuit Reveals

Exoprimal summoned a swarm of updates from a mysterious vortex in the sky, including exciting new story and gameplay details about the upcoming team-based action game.

The Tokyo Game Show trailer introduced two new dinosaurs: the venom-spitting dilophosaurus and the carnotaurus, a massive beast that charges headlong into melee with its brutal horns. Players will take on these threats with a range of cutting-edge combat armor. This advanced arsenal includes a pair of newly-revealed Exosuits. Skywave is a Support type that can fly, heal allies, and obstruct its adversaries’ vision and movement. Meanwhile, the samurai-inspired Tank model Murasame can guard against assaults from all sides before unleashing powerful counterattacks with its katana, Kiri-Ichimonji.

Players can tailor-make their Exosuits with a myriad of weapon and suit skins, decals, charms, and more. A variety of emote choices offer ways to interact with teammates. There is even gear to enhance Exosuit performance. Modules grant bonuses like faster reload speeds, and Rigs arm players with extra abilities, such as the new Blade Rig with its paralyzing electromagnetic shuriken. Customization options even extend to the main protagonist, Ace, who can be fully personalized with the character creator.

Ace’s story begins in 2043, after dinosaur outbreaks engulf the globe. The transport plane carrying their Exofighter unit, the Hammerheads, crash-lands on Bikitoa Island. There, they are forced to compete against hordes of dinosaurs and squads of fellow Exofighters in wargames hosted by the A.I. Leviathan. Not everyone on the island is necessarily an enemy, though. The Hammerheads receive help from a pilot known as Magnum, who shares his knowledge about the deadly situation they find themselves in. Perhaps by working together they can find a way to survive and escape.

Exoprimal launches in 2023 for PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation®4, Xbox One, and Steam.

Card-based narrative journey Foretales is out now on Switch and PC

0

Deal your own adventure with hereto unseen decksploration mechanics

Nantes, France, September 15th, 2022 – Behold! Just as the prophecy foretold, Alkemi and Dear Villagers’ innovative narrative-based card game Foretales has been summoned on the Nintendo Switch eShop and Steam! In Foretales, narration and experimentation blend with decksploration mechanics to create an all new kind of card game where what happens next is entirely up to you!

Our story begins long ago in the realm, where the avian thief Volepain and his friend were asked to steal a magical lyre. They outwitted the guards with an ace up their sleeve. And by “ace” I mean pocket sand. The point is it worked, and our heroes snagged the lyre undetected. Unfortunately, it was no sooner that they had gotten their hands on the lyre that Volepain began to have terrifying visions of the end of the world!

To combat this catastrophic prophecy, Volepain knew he had to assemble a team of companions. His potential allies included the tiger archer Léo, the gorilla Karst, the elephant Isabeau, and the parrot Pattenbois, among other eccentric allies. He knew each party member came with their own strengths and weaknesses that would have to be deployed strategically if they were to succeed in their quest.

Of course, Volepain and his friends need your helping hand to guide them on their journey. Choose whether to approach a scenario by using stealth, creating a ruse, making a trade, or engaging in good old-fashioned fisticuffs. If you play your cards right, Volepain and his ragtag squad could prevent a terrible fate!

Our boldest adventurers can sweeten the pot by tossing in some extra coin – approximately €23.99 / $23.99 / £18.78 – for the Deluxe Edition, containing Foretales’ original soundtrack and a digital art book.

“We’ve always been fans of both tabletop games and video games, so we wanted to bring the former to life using the technology of the latter,” said Alain Puget, founder of Alkemi. “Foretales uses gorgeous art, a stirring score by Beyond Good & Evil and Rayman Legends composer Christophe Héral, and narration by prolific character actor Travis Willingham, to create a wondrous storybook world that really pops off the page – or should I say screen? We’re very proud of how it’s all come together and are brimming with excitement to share it with you all today!”

Foretales has always stood out to us as a novel blend of genres that we think will appeal to fans of not just card games, but all kinds of open-ended adventures,” said Guillaume Jamet, Head of Publishing at Dear Villagers. “We haven’t seen anything quite like it, making Alkemi stand strong as a unique voice in gaming.”
