Available only in a secret level located somewhere deep in the unwavering dark of Dracula’s castle, players will be able to play Richter Mode, which lets them control the age-old Castlevania protagonist for a nostalgia trip that hits harder than the Vampire Killer. Use Richter’s classic moveset inspired by Castlevania: Symphony of the Night and whip the undead out of shape. 

Today’s new trailer shows off this mode in action, complete with jumping whip attacks and other classic abilities taken straight from the Castlevania franchise. For bonus nostalgia points, players will even have to destroy candles and collect hearts, which are used as ammunition for some weapons. With a boss fight against Medusa and a bevy of enemies to slay, you’ll be glad you scoured every inch of Castle Dracula. 

Today’s trailer also included a more in-depth look at the ways players will be able to slay as The Beheaded throughout Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania. Showing off the Vampire Killer, Throwing Axe and more in action, the animated skeletons and living suits of armor shambling through the castle’s halls don’t stand a chance. Eagle-eyed players – as well as hardcore Castlevania fans – may also recognize some familiar set pieces throughout the expansion. Be sure not to leave an inch of the castle unexplored.

Big changes are coming to Fortuna III when Season 3 of the PvPvE extraction shooter launches on March 29

BERLIN — Feb. 23, 2023 — The Cycle: Frontier’s third season is coming soon, and YAGER is planning on making it a blast with the introduction of MK II weapons. Unlike the current roster of weapons that can be bought or crafted on Prospect Station, these exciting new arms can only be found on Fortuna III, rewarding players for good play and exploration. This new system will help the game expand its variety of weapons across the board, making rarer weapons more available to players while filling in gaps in the current line-up. You can learn all about MKII weapons in today’s new developer update video.

In the march to Season 3, YAGER has been taking special care to improve The Cycle: Frontier and make it more fun for everyone. First and foremost, the team continues to deliver new features in The War on Cheats, including recent additions like the Cheating Victim Compensation system (to help players regain items lost to cheaters), Trusted Status with Shielded Matchmaking, and a variety of upgrades to improve cheat detection and reporting. There have also been a number of changes to make the gameplay experience more accessible, including a revamped tutorial, stability enhancements, and the ability to reconnect to sessions after a disconnect.

YAGER is also working to upgrade the experience provided by the game’s offworld player hub with new changes for Prospect Station. To give this home away from home a more dynamic, lived-in feel, Season 3 will bring a variety of visual and architectural redesigns, as well as a reimagined daily presence for the lives of NPCs.

Season 3 lands on March 29, 2023, featuring improvements to the matchmaking system, new campaign quests, Fortuna III’s first-ever flying enemy (the Howler), free loadout runs, and more.
