Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin is summoned from the Realmgate on 17th November for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S

Pre-order the first RTS based on Games Workshop’s fantasy universe from today, and prepare to command one of four unique factions in a desperate battle for control of Ghur, the Realm of Beasts.

Cambridge, UK – 22nd August 2023 Frontier Developments plc (AIM: FDEV, ‘Frontier’) revealed today that real-time-strategy game Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin will launch on 17th November for PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, PlayStation® 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Pre-orders are now available across all platforms.Designed for both RTS experts and genre newcomers, Realms of Ruin features a cinematic singleplayer campaign and 1v1 and 2v2 cross-platform competitive multiplayer. The new trailer reveals the game’s third faction, the spectral horde of the Nighthaunt, who appear alongside the previously revealed Stormcast Eternals and Orruk Kruleboyz armies, with a fourth still to be announced. This trailer also unveils Conquest Mode, a repeatable singleplayer challenge mode that pits players against a series of unpredictable combat scenarios.

Age of Sigmar fans looking for the complete experience can pre-order the Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin Ultimate Edition. Alongside the base game, this grants access to four Alternate Hero Skins (one per faction), two Profile Customisation Sets and access to Hero DLC 1 & 2, which will be released post-launch* and add two all-new heroes for use in multiplayer and Conquest Mode. Also available is the Deluxe Edition, which arrives with the base game, the Alternate Hero Skins, and two Profile Customisation Sets. Pre-ordering either the Ultimate Edition or Deluxe Edition offers up to 3 days’ early unlock starting on 14th November.

Developed simultaneously for both PC and console, Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin is the first RTS to bring the Mortal Realms of Games Workshop’s expansive fantasy universe to life. Set in Ghur, the savage and wild Realm of Beasts, the singleplayer campaign follows a detachment of Stormcast Eternals as they attempt to seize a powerful artefact and save their fortress settlement from the encroaching Orruk Kruleboyz who dwell in the swamps.

Early in the story, the Stormcast Eternals venture out into Ghur and after a perilous journey, reach the location of this artefact – yet they find it bound in the ethereal chains of the Nighthaunt, the servants of Nagash, who unleash a storm of wraiths to defend it. The Nighthaunt bring swarms of ghostly apparitions and diabolical horrors to the battlefield in Realms of Ruin, taking advantage through sheer strength in numbers. As well as appearing as antagonists in the campaign, the Nighthaunt are fully playable in Conquest Mode and multiplayer, with a wide range of units inspired by their tabletop counterparts.

In Conquest Mode, players will face a variety of procedurally generated challenges while building a high score, tackling individual 1v1 skirmishes across a larger map before taking on a final battle to complete each run. But all is not as it seems: rule-breaking twists transform the conditions of conflict, inflicting vastly reduced squad vision, faster unit movement speeds, or strict time limits to increase the level of difficulty, among a range of other variables. Players will make difficult choices between increasing their bonus modifier or earning additional lives as they battle across the map for the highest score possible. Each Conquest Mode run is based on a seed number that can be shared with other players.

Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin brings the universe of the tabletop to life in authentic and visually stunning fashion, with world-class animation and units modelled precisely after their miniature counterparts. In this thrilling real-time strategy game, players will experience a twisted tale of desperate survival in the campaign, command a relentless tug of war over the battlefield in multiplayer, and endure a never-ending war for domination in Conquest Mode. Much more will be revealed ahead of launch.

Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin launches on 17th November forPC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, PlayStation®5 and Xbox Series X|S for a suggested retail price of £49.99/$59.99/€59.99 for the Standard Edition, £59.99/$69.99/€69.99 for the Deluxe Edition and £64.99/$74.99/€74.99 for the Ultimate Edition.

*Released post-launch, full details will be provided at a later date.

Bungie Unfolds The Final Shape in Destiny 2

Studio unveils full details and pre-order availability for the next Destiny 2 expansion as well as the new Season of the Witch, launching worldwide today.

New features, gear, and campaign details revealed for next expansion, arriving February 27, 2024.

New extended Destiny 2 content plan revealed, three Episodes coming in 2024 detailing the aftermath of The Final Shape.

Today, during the annual Destiny 2 Showcase event, Bungie announced details and immediate pre-order availability for its upcoming expansion, Destiny 2: The Final Shape, releasing on February 27, 2024. During the event, the studio revealed new gameplay and narrative stakes that will power the final expansion in Destiny 2’s “Light and Darkness Saga,” as well as important features coming to the game in the next year and beyond. The Showcase event also saw Bungie announce Episodes, its updated approach to seasonal content, detailing the aftermath of The Final Shape and setting the stage for more Destiny 2 stories and content. The first Episode, Echoes, will begin shortly after the launch of Destiny 2: The Final Shape in March 2024.

In addition, the studio revealed Season of the Witch, the new Season in Destiny 2, which launches worldwide today. Season of the Witch will see Guardians turn to their long-time ally Eris Morn, as they work together to wield arcane Hive magic in order to follow the trail left behind by The Witness when it entered the Traveler.

Destiny 2: The Final Shape

In Destiny 2: The Final Shape, Guardians will confront oblivion in the form of their ultimate adversary –The Witness – alongside their iconic Vanguard companions: Ikora Rey, Commander Zavala, and the mysteriously returned Cayde-6. Players will embark on a perilous journey of remembrance and discovery into the heart of the Traveler, rally the Vanguard, and end the War of Light and Darkness. The story of this final confrontation will be told throughout the course of The Final Shape’s campaign, as well as in the new raid that will launch in March 2024.

Accompanying the launch of the raid will be a new World First Race, beginning the day of the raid’s launch. Fireteams around the world will compete to be the first six-Guardian team to fully complete the new raid.

Into The Traveler

During the campaign of The Final Shape, Guardians will explore a mysterious new destination – The Pale Heart, located inside the Traveler. Shaped by The Witness but also influenced by the history and journey of the Guardians themselves, The Pale Heart destination will feature nostalgic callbacks from throughout the history of the Light and Darkness Saga, including a version of the original Tower from Destiny. As the first linear destination in Destiny history, The Pale Heart will also gradually evolve.

Alongside a new campaign and a new destination, as well as a reunion of iconic characters who have gathered to face the threat of The Witness together, The Final Shape expansion will offer players new offensive capabilities in the form of three new Super abilities and Aspects (Void for Titans, Solar for Warlocks, and Arc for Hunters), each developed with teamplay in mind. Further, new additions to the Destiny 2 arsenal will make Guardians even more imposing, including a new weapon subfamily that includes the Rocket Pistol Sidearm and a new Support Frame Auto Rifle that can deal damage while healing allies. Additionally, classic weapons from the original Destiny will return, and a new Exotic Fusion Rifle, among others.

Guardians will put these tools to use against an imposing new enemy type – Subjugators – who are able to use Stasis and Strand powers against Guardians while also adding an element of control to the battlefield.

Destiny 2 developers also detailed features coming to the game in the next year, including an improved Power system that will make it easier for players of different Power levels to take part in activities together, the upcoming Fireteam Finder feature (coming in November 2023) designed to help players find fellow Guardians to play with in activities across the game, as well as PvP updates including a new Vex-themed map called Multiplex, a new Relic-based game mode, and the new Checkmate modifier.

Before the opening of today’s Showcase event, a moment of silence was observed for Lance Reddick, who passed away in March. Reddick’s dignified portrayal as the English language voice actor of Zavala made an inspiring fan-favorite character in the Destiny universe. Earlier this month, Bungie announced that film and television actor Keith David would take over the role of Zavala, allowing the character’s story to continue in The Final Shape. In addition, film and television actor Nathan Fillion announced his return to the Destiny franchise as the voice of the Hunter Vanguard Cayde-6 in May of this year.

Enter Episodes

As part of the Showcase, Bungie detailed its new Episodes content format for Destiny 2, which will begin in March 2024 shortly after the launch of The Final Shape. Replacing the current seasonal model, Episodes represent an entirely new approach to storytelling and content. There will be three separate Episodes in 2024 – titled Echoes, Revenant, and Heresy respectively – with the first Episode launching in March. Each Episode will be a standalone story told in three Acts, exploring the aftermath and fallout of the events of the conclusion of the Light and Darkness saga, while also introducing more content and rewards, more often than previous Destiny 2 Seasons.

Season of the Witch

Destiny 2’s newest season – Season of the Witch – launches today. In Season of the Witch, Guardians will continue their ongoing pursuit of The Witness, and will confront old allies and enemies along the way. Savathûn’s ghost Immaru proposes a deal: aid in the resurrection of The Witch Queen and help defeat her sister, Xivu Arath. In exchange, Savathûn will reveal the key to the portal through the Traveler where The Witness is preparing to enact The Final Shape. Guardians will harness arcane Hive magic as they help their ally Eris Morn prepare for the showdown against the Hive god of war by transforming into a Hive god herself.

Key to Season of the Witch is the new Deck of Whispers, a new method of player progression that allows Guardians to customize their loadouts and powers in new ways. By completing Seasonal activities, players earn cards that can be used to build a customized deck full of buffs and perks for certain activities. Players in fireteams have the option to carefully strategize which cards they bring along to maximize their battle effectiveness on each run.

Time To Reflect

Alongside the adventure and action in Season of the Witch, the Destiny 2 development team is launching several new quality-of-life features to the game, designed to improve the experience of Guardians across the game. Among these key features is Timeline Reflections. These short playable missions, accessible through the Timeline feature in the Director, offer brief narrative introductions and summaries of key narrative events from Destiny 2 and are intended to help new players catch up with the ongoing story and to allow experienced players to relive and enjoy moments from the past.

With the launch of Season of the Witch, three Timeline Reflections missions are available, including Cayde-6’s final showdown with the Scorn from Destiny 2: Forsaken, the debut of Stasis from Destiny 2: Beyond Light, and the introduction of the Lucent Hive from Destiny 2: The Witch Queen. These missions are available to all players at no additional charge.

Reprised Raid: Crota’s End

Season of the Witch will also bring with it a reprised raid from Destiny’s past: Crota’s End. Originally released shortly after the launch of the original Destiny in 2014, Crota’s End finds Guardians braving the Lunar landscape to enter the Hellmouth and confront Oryx’s son once and for all.

Crota’s End will launch on September 1 and Bungie will be celebrating with a World First Race to recognize and reward the first fireteam to successfully complete the reprised raid. Fireteams all over the world will have 48 hours to complete the raid in Contest Mode, complete the Crota’s End Challenge Mode, and earn the Superior Swordplay Triumph. The first fireteam to finish every encounter, loot the final chest, and return to orbit after completing Challenge Mode will be declared World First and have their victory immortalized with Crota’s End World First raid belts.

Season of the Witch launches today and will end on November 28.

Watch the announcement trailer below ahead of its open beta on the 1st of September.

https://www.youtube.com/embed/XB8kJX6U2Hw Death or Glory works on a very unique turn system, where almost every attack can be reacted to, whether dodged or blocked. Each card uses a speed system, much like the frames of a fighting game, so a heavy attack will still hit over a small block. Managing your resources, including stamina, champion power, and cards in hand, is vital to surviving the arena.

Choose a fighter and venture through the fantasy realms and build the perfect champions deck in the roguelike adventure mode, which plays like a traditional roguelike deck builder (Slay the Spire, Wildfrost). With multiple maps on offer, there’s a whole roster of PvE content for champions to fight their way through.

You can also face off against other champions and climb the ranks of glory in tense dueling battles. These arena battles sit closer to an original CCG style (Hearthstone, Legends of Runetera). Regardless of what mode players choose to champion, experience will always be earned and unlock content for both PvE and PvP.

Becoming a champion in a world where magic and bullets collide is no easy feat. Gods can use their might to fight mechs. Werewolves can build rage to tear apart warriors and other foes. Every card is an action; every action can have a reaction.

The champions of Death or Glory make up five different classes, all with a unique play style and resource system. Piloting a mech requires managing the system’s temperature to play devastating combos. Fighting as a feral werewolf means you’ll need to harness rage to slash away at your opponent’s health.

Each champion and class holds its own secrets to dueling success. Learn to master the classes in the Arena, where you face off in increasingly difficult towers, unlocking new cards and the secrets to their success. Once you’ve mastered your champion, then show your glory to the world in competitive PvP duels.

Key Features

Five Classes with Five Unique Resource Systems – No two classes play alike. Spellslingers will accumulate Mana, whilst Monsters will Unleash power.

Character Decks – Every character has unique mechanics and befitting cards that can only be played by them. A Ninja will have nimble and fast cards whilst a lumbering Giant has powerful and heavy attacks.

Dynamic Turn Control – Both players share a turn. As soon as you counter your opponent’s card, you seize the initiative and gain control of the battle.

Embark on an Adventure – The roguelike single-player mode will make players choose between multiple paths to take on a journey. Different choices will result in different rewards, and the playstyle of every champion will constantly adapt with every card rewarded.

Competitive Duels – Duel your friends in a death match to see who is the greater champion. Climb the ladder for Seasonal rewards and the taste of glory against your rivals.

Progress like a Champion – Fight with different champions to level them up and unlock new cards, skins and powerful PvE abilities.

Death or Glory will be released as a free-to-play game with cosmetic microtransactions towards the end of September via Steam Early Access. An open beta will be available from Friday 1st September to Monday 4th September, where players can play two of the game classes, the roguelike mode, and the competitive PvP arena mode. Players who participate in the open beta will be rewarded with an exclusive Redeye skin (below).

Please note, progress earned in the open beta weekend will not carry over to the Early Access release of Death or Glory.
