Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II and Call of Duty: Warzone are set to reach an epic conclusion in Season 06, with legendary comic book anti-hero Spawn headlining the Battle Pass. Players can unlock further Spawn-themed rewards and Operator Skins throughout the pass, including additional visitors from the Underworld. Additionally, Season 06 features incredible bundles with new Operators from Skeletor, Evil Dead 2, and Hellsing licenses, as well as a Doom Weapon Bundle. And, for the first time in Call of Duty history, Season 06 features a crossover with Diablo with two additional Operators – Lilith and Inarius. 13th Annual New York Game Awards will take place in person on Tues., Jan. 16, 2024

NEW YORK (Sept. 21, 2023) – The New York Videogame Critics Circle (NYVGCC) today announced the 13th annual New York Game Awards is returning to the renowned SVA Theatre in Manhattan on the evening of Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2024. The annual awards show will again be co-hosted by Circle president and founder Harold Goldberg, NYVGCC senior intern Makeda Byfield, and the 2020 Andrew Yoon Legend Award recipient and former President of Nintendo of America, Reggie Fils-Aimé. This year’s awesome Legend Award recipient, in addition to musicians and presenters, will be announced soon.

The NYVGCC, a nonprofit promoting awareness of, and education for, video games, writing, and journalism in the New York City area, hosts the annual award program to celebrate the industry and its creators from the past year, as well as the underserved students that NYVGCC mentors, and the NYVGCC scholarship programs. LOS ANGELES, CA – September 21, 2023 – Netmarble, a leading developer and publisher of high-quality mobile games, has launched the first game update for Seven Knights Idle Adventure. New heroes, stage region, costumes, events and more have been added.

Eight new heroes are now available including the Legendary hero Kagura. This range type character has an Active Skill that deals damage equal to 250% of Attack in a certain area around the hero. ‘Knocks Back’ pushes the target by 5m upon a successful attack. Additionally, Kagura can be effective at attacking melee type heroes as the final damage increases by 50%. Other newly added heroes include Jin (U), Kathy (E), Daisy (U), Lina (U), and more.

As part of the update, players get to enjoy an additional 1,200 new regions and they can also enter ‘Moonlit Isle’. The regional island is covered in cherry blossoms, which is the theme of Kagura’s new costume as well.

CD PROJEKT RED has announced the release of the free Update 2.0 for Cyberpunk 2077, bringing players a host of major gameplay overhauls and new features, including redesigned skill trees and perks, revamped cyberware, vehicle combat, car chases, a new police system, and more. Alongside Update 2.0, the studio aired a new episode of REDStreams on Twitch, highlighting the gameplay changes and featuring interviews with developers.

Update 2.0 is the biggest free update to Cyberpunk 2077 yet, bringing a variety of major new and reworked features to the game that impact almost every aspect of the gameplay experience. The update is available right now for all players who own Cyberpunk 2077 on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.

Among the most significant gameplay overhauls featured in Updated 2.0 are skill trees and perks, which have been completely reworked. Many entirely new skills are now available in the game, adding exciting abilities that open up new ways to play. The new trees have been designed to bring even more freedom to players, allowing them to easily and intuitively build unique and effective playstyles.

Another vital addition to the game is the revamped cyberware system — with cyberware now responsible for armor. However, that’s not all — a system of cyberware limit tied to the character’s level has also been introduced in Update 2.0. Thanks to those changes, each visit to the ripperdoc now requires a more strategic approach, which brings even more variety to the gameplay.

A brand new addition to the game is vehicle combat — enabling the use of weapons and quickhacks while controlling a vehicle. Players can now fire guns freely while driving, use katanas on motorcycles, take remote control of enemy cars and detonate them, and participate in dynamic chases all over Night City.

Going hand in hand with vehicle combat is a new police system, which now features improved AI and operates under a new threat escalation system. NCPD forces now react appropriately to the player’s behavior on the streets and, depending on the heat level, will show more determination and use new means of fighting the threat, such as barricades. At the highest heat level, a real challenge awaits players — MaxTac. Each clash with this elite NCPD unit is a dynamic and highly demanding boss battle.

This is only a fraction of what Update 2.0 has to offer. It also includes refreshed enemy AI, improved UI and UX, and changes to rewards, items, and crafting — all of these were discussed in detail during the latest REDStreams by Filip Downar, lead gameplay designer, and Rafał Obrębski, gameplay designer & gameplay design coordinator at CD PROJEKT RED.

Update 2.0 also brings three new radio stations to the base game: Growl FM, whose playlist was created entirely by the Cyberpunk 2077 community, Impulse Radio, featuring a DJ set by Idris Elba — who plays the role of Solomon Reed in the expansion — and Darkstar Radio which features two of Elba’s songs.

That’s not all that’s coming to Cyberpunk 2077 — Phantom Liberty, a fully fledged expansion for the base game, will launch on September 26th on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC, and will be available for streaming via GeForce NOW. It will offer a brand-new spy-thriller story, a completely new district to explore, new quests, contracts, items, weapons, and much more.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Director Hideaki Itsuno kicked off Capcom’s TGS Online Special Program by providing the first in-depth look at the deep explorable world of Dragon’s Dogma 2. The roughly ten-minute overview included an explanation of the Pawn AI companions, some of the available vocations, and the two nations players will explore throughout their journey. Itsuno also gave a glimpse of the many ways players will be able to use their creativity to adventure through this immersive world when Dragon’s Dogma 2 releases on PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.

Set forth on your grand adventure, Arisen!

Dragon’s Dogma 2 is a narrative-driven action RPG that places players in an immersive fantasy world as the Arisen. You will lead a party of up to three AI companions known as Pawns, including your custom main Pawn, and up to two additional Pawns that can be recruited from other players or offline. Before embarking on each quest of your journey, it is essential to organize your party and ensure that each member is able to leverage each other’s strengths and mitigate their weaknesses by tactically selecting their vocations. When players start their journey in Dragon’s Dogma 2, they will be able to choose their desired playstyle among the four initially available vocations: Fighter, Archer, Thief, and Mage. Players can change the vocation of their Arisen and main Pawn at any time by visiting Vocation Guilds throughout the world and unlock new vocations as they progress through the game.

Choose Your Vocation

• Fighter: The Fighter wields a sword and shield to slice through enemy ranks and deliver powerful blows, while also using shields to protect themselves and their allies.
• Archer:  Archers utilize the bow and arrow to strike enemies from afar and excel at targeting airborne foes or creating opportunities for follow up attacks after striking enemy weak points.
• Thief: Attacks with deadly speed, dealing rapid and consecutive strikes with daggers in both hands while exhibiting outstanding mobility. They quickly step away after striking, exploit openings to cling onto enemies, and inflict heavy damage. Thieves may steal from enemies and NPCs alike.
• Mage: Wielding a staff, the Mage offers support to their party in various ways: from launching magick attacks, offering enchantments that bolster party members’ weapons, to casting healing spells.

Itsuno also revealed the Magick Archer and Mystic Spearhand, two vocations that will only be available to the player-controlled Arisen.

• Magick Archer: Using magickal arrows, the Magick Archer has a versatile move-set capable of attacking, healing allies, or even learning a custom skill that unleashes a devastating attack over a wide area, in exchange for reducing their own maximum HP.
• Mystic Spearhand: The Mystic Spearhand makes use of their unique Duospear and magick to attack enemies up close or from afar with punishing strikes or magick that can paralyze enemies or hurl multiple objects at them.

Exploring the Nations of Dragon’s Dogma 2

The tale of Dragon’s Dogma 2 is split between two nations: Vermund, the kingdom of humanity, and the beastren nation of Battahl. Vermund is a land of rolling green hills, with a fortified capital city populated by nobles, and sprawling commoner settlements surrounding the castle grounds. Meanwhile, the steep canyons of Battahl are littered with ancient ruins that later became the foundation for its current cities. When venturing outside the safety of each nation’s towns, players will encounter travelers, merchants, soldiers, and other folk as they go about their daily lives. Each character has their own motives and objectives, and may even approach the Arisen with a quest. If a Pawn in your party has knowledge of a quest, they will offer to guide the Arisen to their destination. If the sky begins to darken while en route, the Arisen should seek a campsite to sleep rather than brave the smothering darkness and increased dangers of night. Oxcarts also offer quick passage between each major town, but beware: these transports can be attacked before their arrival.

Exoprimal Summons a New Map, Co-op Mission, Street Fighter 6 Crossover, and More in October

During TGS, Capcom suited up for Exoprimal Title Update 2 by revealing new details on the exciting additional content that’s set to debut Oct. 18, 2023. The show highlighted a new final mission type, map, and gear for the online team-based action game alongside a new challenger joining the fray in the Street Fighter 6 collaboration, Chun-Li.  The event also summoned a first look at a Rathalos Armor Set skin for Murasame in a teaser for the Monster Hunter crossover coming as part of Title Update 3 in January 2024.

Exoprimal Title Update 2 and Season 2 content includes:

• Street Fighter 6 Collaboration: In this crossover, World Warriors transform into special Exosuit skins for Deadeye (Ryu), Zephyr (Guile), and Vigilant (Chun-Li). Exofighters can also hit the streets of Bikitoa Island with Street Fighter-themed cosmetics, including emotes, Exosuit decals, Comm Wheel stamps, and charms.
• New Co-op Final Mission: In Escape missions, 10 Exofighters work together to make a getaway. In these combat tests, teams secure areas of the map to power up their Exosuits before relying on enhanced armor to break through dinosaur hordes and reach an extraction point.
• New Gear: A pair of new rigs are on the way to the Hangar! Exofighters can wield the Drone to cause a blinding explosion, or they can teleport into the fray with the Edge Strike and unleash a slash attack. Players will also unlock a variety of new skins, emotes, and other cosmetics with the Season 2 Survival Pass.
• New Map: The Ocean Platform offers a new combat area set on an offshore Hi-Xol facility. This map features narrow pathways with a lot of verticality, encouraging Exofighters to use equipment suited to the terrain.   
• Seasonal Events: Season 2 will feature Double XP campaigns and special seasonal events where Exofighters can earn holiday-themed skins featuring jack-o’-lanterns and Santa hats.

The Trail Ahead for Monster Hunter™

The recently released Monster Hunter Now showcased its new AR function, which allows players to take pictures with their favorite monsters in the real world. The first update for the title was also confirmed to be coming in December and will include new weapon types and monsters for players to enjoy. Additionally, March 2024 will mark 20 years since the launch of the first Monster Hunter title in Japan. The 20^th anniversary logo and first piece of the 20^th anniversary art series debuted during the Tokyo Game Show Special Online Program. A.K.I. Claws Her Way into Street Fighter 6 and Players’ Hearts Starting on Sept. 27!

Prepare yourself for a poisonous new entry to the Street Fighter™ franchise as A.K.I. joins the fight in Street Fighter 6 starting on Sept. 27! As an understudy of F.A.N.G from Street Fighter™ V, A.K.I. takes great joy in using her beloved poisonous projectiles and claw attacks to take down her fiercest opponents.

Feeling brave? Players can take their chances meeting up with A.K.I. in the single-player World Tour mode to learn more about her interest in the evil Shadaloo organization and apply her deadly moves to their custom avatars for use in both World Tour and Battle Hub modes.

A.K.I. will have Outfit 1, colors 3-10, available at release for owners of the Year 1 Character Pass, Deluxe Edition, or Ultimate Edition. Outfit 2 will be available for Ultimate Edition owners or as a separate purchase. Players can also get a taste of her poison for an hour with a Rental Fighter ticket, which can be obtained via a Fighting Pass.

A star-studded line-up brings the rhythm and romance of Hell’s nine circles to life!

TOKYO – Sept. 21, 2023 – At the Tokyo Game Show, publisher CRITICAL REFLEX and developer Finch Bird Studio excitedly announced the Japanese voice cast of the upcoming dungeon crawling dating sim rhythm game Freaked Fleapit. To fully accentuate the game’s anime style and inspirations, the Japanese cast is full of beloved performers known for their standout roles in game series such as Persona and Tekken, and numerous anime series including Fullmetal Alchemist, Gintama, and Fairy Tail. Players can get a taste of the performances with a brand-new gameplay video, featuring a series of never-before-seen dialogue sequences.

The Cast

• Fasaria (Voiced by: Rie Kugimiya): This smol Grim Reaper could only be played by the Tsundere Queen herself, Rie Kugimiya! Get ready to be called a moron by the iconic voice of Taiga Aisaka from Toradora!, Kagura from Gintama, and Alphonse Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist.
• Ruby (Voiced by: Sumire Uesaka): For the chaotic and torturous poltergeist Ruby, there’s no better fit than Sumire Uesaka, infamous at bullying protagonists as Miss Nagatoro from Don’t Toy With Me, Miss Nagatoro.

• Bellboy (Voiced by: Ami Koshimizu): Fleapit’s one and only bartender, Bellboy will be brought to life with the unstoppable energy of Ami Koshimizu, known for playing Ryuko Matoi in Kill la Kill and the surprising tenderness of Holo in Spice and Wolf.
• Sister June (Voiced by: Sayaka Ohara): Everyone knows that angels are supposed to have heavenly voices. Thankfully, the Fleapit’s resident angel, Sister June, is performed by Sayaka Ohara, who voiced Erza Scarlet from Fairy Tail, Beatrice from Umineko, and Margaret from the Persona series.

• Keyla (Voiced by: Shiori Izawa): Usually Keyla prefers sleeping to… pretty much anything, but if you manage to catch her awake, you’ll be treated to the sounds of Shiori Izawa, known for playing Nanachi in Made in Abyss, Saya Sasamiya in The Asterisk War and Pochita in Chainsaw Man. Just make sure to have a cup of coffee ready!
• Sally (Voiced by: Yumi Hara): Careful: the leader of the circle of Hell dedicated to lust just took a liking to you! Don’t let the sweet voice of Overlord’s Albedo, Dusk Maiden of Amnesia’s Yuuko Kanoe, and Tekken 7’s Kazumi Mishima distract you from the danger you’re in.…unless you’re into that kind of thing?

• Tyler (Voiced by: Jun Fukuyama): The most mysterious character in all of the Fleapit is…a demonic talking tie? But don’t let the harmless look deceive you, this rebellious tie is performed by Jun Fukuyama, who voiced Lelouch Lamperouge in Code Geass and Joker in Persona 5!

AUSTIN, Texas – Sept. 21, 2023  – Battle Bows, the co-op VR wave shooter from WIMO Games, fires a volley of fresh content with a free DLC containing a new team-based event, winter environment, crossbow weapon, legendary difficulty mode, and more, available today on the Meta Quest store and SteamVR. WIMO Games also confirms today that Battle Bows will ready its arrows to strike PlayStation VR2, with a port currently in development

Play the Bow Showdown recurring event, where archers join one of three teams and try to win glory for their team. Each match adds points to the team’s score while enemies gain new strength and defense buffs. The highest overall team score gets bragging rights and bonuses toward unlocking the newly added talents. These permanent talent upgrades can help improve elemental power cooldowns and range, reinforce the castle door, or grant point bonuses for climbing the leaderboard.

The kingdom’s four greatest defenders will also protect a new wintry world. The Winter Keep shines with a beautiful borealis that covers a night-time sky, while enemies travel a rugged, frozen tundra, featuring more than 40 new pathways for enemies to travel as they attack your base. Our defenders will even be able to trade arrows for explosives with the just-added Demolition Kit, packing a crossbow grenade launcher in the main hand, and a wrist-launched sticky web on the off-hand for maximum area control.

These new armaments will assist those tackling the DLC’s new Legendary difficulty, featuring 16 waves of ever more deadly enemies. Square off against debuting foes like the Rocketeer which sets its sights straight on the heart of the castle, and the magic shield-casting Warlock, who protects its allies. Contend with the Legendary Badaboom Boss, who lobs globs of guck to stun archers, then throws a bomb at the heart.

Originally launched in July 2023, Battle Bows takes place in a fantasy world where four archers play together in online co-op using VR controllers with easy-to-learn mechanics. Defend the kingdom’s castle from hordes of balloon monsters. The quartet must channel the mystic arts of fire, ice, electricity, and poison to thwart the menace laying siege to their gates.

“This DLC is both a thank you to everyone who supported our debut virtual reality game and a sign of our commitment to continue expanding the world of Battle Bows,” said WIMO Games CEO Dave Rosen. “This update nearly doubles the game content, giving our fans plenty more to enjoy while we work on the much-requested PSVR2 version and other virtual reality titles in development.”
