Ubisoft announced they will be starting a new revenue sharing pilot program for Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege. The program will split the revenue of specific in game items with pro teams from around the world, allowing teams to provide a stable income source for their players. The revenue sharing program will augment the prize pool for the Six Invitational 2019 tournament. The pilot program will run for one year starting with the beginning of Season 8 on June 11, 2018. After a year, Ubisoft will establish a long term revenue sharing program with pro teams.
The following 11 pro teams are the first members of the program:
- FNATIC (ANZ)
- PENTA Sports (EU)
- Vitality (EU)
- Evil Geniuses (NA)
- Rogue (NA)
- SK Gaming (NA)
- Mousesports (NA)
- FaZe Clan (LATAM)
- Team Liquid (LATAM)
- Immortals (ex-BRK esports – LATAM)
- Ninjas in Pyjamas (roster announced soon)
Additionally, Ubisoft announced a new format for Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege Pro League. Each season will now run six months and include more LAN events.
