Prospera: First Devlog Episode Opens The Door To The Immersive City-Building In A Steam Age

Join the dev team for a look behind the scenes and the motivation behind developing a game that sets out to push genre boundaries

Oberhaching, Germany, October 16, 2026 – Iconic Victorian housefronts from shops and residential buildings alike lining a long boulevard. Lively cities where the residents follow their daily routines and try to fulfill their needs from basic necessities to luxury entertainment. Factories, powered by steam engines. A huge open world, connected by railways and steam trains, transporting resources and goods. Not to forget an immersive first-person or third-person perspective instead of a godlike isometric view. These are the main ingredients for the immersive city-builder Prospera from development team Active Fungus Studios and indie publisher Toplitz Productions.

Turning heads since its initial reveal, the genre-bending game is getting ready for the next phase of development, with the goal of opening the city gates to aspiring builders and mayors in Q2 2027. To prepare players for a city-building experience unlike any other, we invite you to join us for the premiere of our Prospera devlog video series. Featuring previously unreleased footage and added looks behind the scenes, the series will explore the creative process of development, game mechanics, various deep dives as well as design philosophies. Episode 1 focuses on the motivation behind taking city-building into uncharted territory, while offering an overview of the game’s core features.

Prospera is scheduled to launch into Early Access on PC via Steam and Epic Games Store in Q2 2027. More information can be found on the respective official store pages. Join our Discord server to stay up-to-date on Prospera as well as the other exciting titles from Toplitz Productions.
