BORDEAUX, FRANCE (October 22, 2026) – Motion Twin have today released the final Early Access update to Windblown – the 0.9999999 Update. Bringing fresh build possibilities, considerable combat refinement and an abundance of overall game improvements that set the stage for what awaits in the full 1.0 launch. This final update launches alongside the 3rd iteration of Motion Twin’s annual Steam event, La Motion Week, where Windblown will be 30% off until November 5th.
The ‘0.9999999 Update’ packs a punch, with notable additions including:
- Enemy attack previews mean that there is now a dynamic warning system that allows you to better comprehend combat chaos and react in the heat of the moment, while adjusted attack timings help sharpen the overall flow and feeling of fights.
- Co-op and Cataclysmic difficulty get a full rebalance, so whether you’re tearing through the Vortex with friends or flying solo, you’ll feel the improved tuning across your runs.
- Thinking of heading into higher difficulties? Watch out for new enemy forcefields that can only be broken with your devastating Alterattack, pushing you to master the art of hitting back, hard.
- Hit a branching path that doesn’t lead to where you hoped? New fast-return teleporters let you dash into them, open the map, and simply pick a point to teleport back to. Spend less time retracing your steps, and more time tearing through enemies!
- The revamped shop system introduces six specific shop types, each with its own focus: Gear, Gifts, Healing, Upgrade, Memonite, and general store. The choice to choose exactly what type of shop you want to visit gives you much greater control over your run and a much better chance to find exactly what your build needs.
The update also brings 17 new Affixes, a revamped rarity system, new Mythic Gifts variants, the return of Double Hits as an Encrypted Memory and the new Chrono Fish Magifish. There are new islands to explore, expanded support for controllers, auto-combo accessibility options, and so much more – full patch notes can be found here.
During it’s time in Early Access, Windblown has continuously grown alongside its community, with 10 major content updates and quality of life improvements across gameplay and performance. Intrepid Leapers have braved new biomes, faced off against fearsome new foes, experimented with an ever-expanding arsenal, and met every evolving challenge of the Vortex head-on.
“Two years ago, we opened the gates of the Vortex and asked you to break everything. You did, enthusiastically. Every bug report, balance rant and late-night Discord theory shaped what Windblown is today. This is the last stop before we leave Early Access, and we’d call it 1.0, but we’re not quite ready to let go yet. So please enjoy 0.9999999. Thank you for leaping with us.” – The Motion Twin Team
So it’s time to sharpen your blades, refine your builds, and start preparing yourself for the ultimate leap into 1.0.
